We are a middle aged couple with our kids off at college/medical school. Exploring the Americas while we are able to enjoy it. My husband is a retired IBM exec. that spent the last few years living his dream flying in airshows from Oshkosh to China. I am a CT/Radiology technologist that loves to garden, cook, and travel.
I love to bake and garden and my husband is a super handyman that built his own airplane and a large addition on his hangar. He can fix just about anything.
We own two dogs but they are at home with the kids keeping an eye on them.
We reside in Gold Hill a very small town in North Carolina,
2008 Ford F450 super duty with a 2010 keystone Laredo.
We had a great time hosting Tordal13, gracious guests, polite and quiet, shacking up with some friends, they are welcome back anytime. And we can go do some backcountry flying. And hopefully cooler weather.
Unfortunately, I didn't even get the chance to meet them....I was busy until late evening and they left early in the morning... Safe travels my friends & hopefully we will meet again!! <3
We really enjoyed their visit. They are super nice people, and the Baked goods they gave us were wonderful! They are welcome to stay again whenever they are in the area.
Nice couple on their first Boondockers visit.
We especially loved the Focaccia bread they brought us on arrival.
We wish them a safe journey and would welcome them back any time.
We were on our maiden voyage in our brand new RV and stayed with Tordal13 for our very first night. The hosts were amazing. Not only did we schedule our stay very last minute, but we also got delayed and arrived after dark. They were beyond accomodating and incredibly understanding. Upon our arrival, they mentioned that we had total access to an indoor full bathroom if needed. They also spent so much time with us showing us the ropes of our RV. Since we had come from the frozen North, they helped us de-winterize our coach, let us dump our tanks, and even disposed of our garbage for us. Their friendliness made us feel completely at home with total strangers. They went above and beyond anything we would have expected from a host and all of this happened on New Years Eve. We enjoyed a bottle of wine together to christen our new RV and thouroughly enjoyed getting to know each other. We can not recommend these hosts enough. They have definitely set the bar high for any future hosts we stay with!
I want to say how mike went above and beyond, I can’t thank him enough. We had some things break down on our camper unexpectedly and I was able to work on them at his home. He’s a genuine person and I honestly hope someday I can extend the favor.
Traveling around the country is hard when you’re constantly on the go, this gave us a few days to relax. It’s what we needed.
My hosts were great with communication and greeting me when I arrived. After hooking up my host offered to fix my bent jack and he did. I was lucky enough to be offered laundry, shower and dump station on top of elec and water and wifi, Such nice accommodating hosts. Didn't socialize much but got in a good visit.
Our hosts were so welcoming. It honestly felt like going to stay with family. They made us feel right at home.
Our dogs got to romp around with their dogs which was also a really nice reprieve for them as travel days tend to stress them out and give them extra energy that needs to be run off.
We would love to come back again sometime and can recommend Tordal13’s place without any reservations.
Thanks so much for having us!
