Full-timers who work from wherever we want to be out enjoying all that we can

Do you know or have you hosted this user?

Chris is an online obedience dog trainer and video editor to their YouTube channel TheLocalPond. Ray is an IT Security consultant. We are traveling to find where we want to build a homestead and build landlocked businesses utilizing approximately 200 acres with water rights. We have been married for 25 years and have moved about every 3 years and figured why not do it full time without the expense of a U-Haul while finding where exactly we would like to be, and even then we may hire people to run the businesses on our property and still take off for the wonderful world we live in.

Skills & Expertise to Share

Obedience dog training and dog nutrition.

TheLocalPond's Pets

We have 2 dogs, Miss Bay and Miss Tinker. Bay is a 5 year old rescue from Labs and More in San Diego, California. Tinker is a 3 year old stray that adopted us while we were near Macon, Georgia. Both are super sweet with high energy when you first meet them and then they calm down significantly. Neither of them bark much, only for about 5 seconds when they feel somebody approach unexpectedly. The worse they will do to anybody is kiss them, especially Tinker, she'll give you a good tongue bath if you let her. Currently Bay is well trained in obedience and has a few tricks up her paws, while Tinker has a good understanding of basic obedience cues, and both are always in our control at all times. And yes, we always clean up after them.

Favorite Boondocking Locations

National and State Forests, but when they are not available we prefer large farms where we've had permission to let the dogs off leash, level parking for the rig, and hiking nearby.

TheLocalPond's Hometown

Great couple

We wish we were able to get to know the Local Pond more on their visit to our property but we had to leave for a couple of days so we were only there to greet them and get them acquainted to the property. We’d be happy to host them if they come back this way again.

Great Guests

Local Pond, the kind of guests we have come to expect from our Boondocker guests. So very friendly, nothing to say but positives for the site and a real respect for the opportunity to stay. They will always be welcome.

Pleasant company

Awesome experience in hosting these two and their furry family.
Quiet and friendly just begins to describe the short time we shared. I felt like I'd known them for years.
I hope they are able to stop by again someday.
