My husband Rob and I are high school sweethearts who have been together for over 20 years, married for 17. We are both RN's and have 3 children ages 6, 9, and 11. We set out in June to travel the US with our kids for one year as we find our new home state and town. We fell in love with the Couer D’alene area in Idaho, and decided to settle down there and buy a house! We have enjoyed traveling so much that we did not want to change our plans for our year of travel. So we are renting out our house while we continue to travel for the year. We have enjoyed the many people we have met along our journey through the first 5 states and would love to meet more!
We are both registered nurses with a variety of skills, and my husband is very handy.
We have 15lb 7 year old dog named Princess. She is a rescue dog and a dauschund mix with possibly lab? We just got a 2 month old Labradoodle puppy named Zues.
We have just been on the road for a month so far, but have been enjoying our time in OR, WA, AK, ID and MT.
My husband Rob and I are originally from Southern California. We moved to the Santa Cruz Mountains in CA 6 years ago. We were tired of the rat race of CA and decided to sell our home, and find a new state to call home while adventuring throughout the US for a year. We have found that new home to be in Northern Idaho, but did not want to change our plans to continue to see the US as a family for a year.
Our tow vehicle is a 2018 Ram 3500 and our rig is a 2019 Keystone Couugar 32bhs with 3 popouts.
This is a wonderful family on a great adventure! Unfortunately they couldn’t get their RV into the spot we have without hitting bottom. After several attempts they decided to stay at a nearby campground. However, we had a great visit and took them out to see the animals and give them some treats. The kids are well-behaved and polite - a delight to have around. We wish them safe travels along their remaining adventure!
Had a wonderful visit with this family. Our grandkids were staying with us during this time and were thrilled to have some kids their same ages to play with. This family is welcome back anytime!
Note: This review is several weeks after their stay as I had forgotten until I just logged in to my account and noticed I hadn't left a review yet.
If you get the opportunity to host this family, do it!
Glad you had a nice stay - hope you have safe travels!
I only got a few minutes to visit with ksusca before they left but a what a wonderful family. They really seemed to enjoy their stay, especially the kids! Always welcomed guests and I hope we get a chance to see them again down the road.
It was great to be able to host Ksusca. What wonderfully behaved kids-- highly courteous and they converse so respectfully with adults! All our kids clicked extremely well together, and they had a great time playing non-stop into the evening. We wish them all the very best on their adventures and they are welcome back anytime.
These guys stopped in for a chilly rainy Kentucky weekend. Luckily the weather broke and we enjoyed a bonfire together. The kids had a ball, the dog was well behaved, and the parents were great to talk to. We hope to see then again sometime, and they are always welcome at Camp Carter.
Wonderful visit with this great family, hope to see them again somewhere down the road.
There kids played on our swings and rode there bikes and enjoyed our dogs. They were a pleasure to watch as Two families enjoyed our property.6 dogs total and not one issue. Our neighbors dog then came over to make it 7.
They have trained there children and pets well and we would be honored to have them stay with us again.
We were out of town when ksusca arrived. I felt bad that we could not be there to help them get situated, but they managed quite well.
We did arrive home earlier than expected, and were so glad to ne able to visit with them, if even for a short time. My hubby thoroughly enjoys helping others in light repairs, and was eager to fix a few issues they had.
We are old school, and were amazed that a young family had the same core values as us, and are doing such an amazing thing by giving their children not only their time, but taking them on an amazing adventure.
My father and my husband's parents took us on adventures when we were growing up, and it has stuck with us. Our children are 3rd generation adventurers! What a great thing you are instilling in the kids!
We hosted this very respectable family on their travels. I would love to have them back at any time. They respected our property and had a great time.
A wonderful family with three very friendly children. They were very respectful of the property. I would welcome them back anytime.
We really enjoy hosting this great family.
The children had a ball with the cows, horses and of course Kahlua our black lab.
We wish them the best in finding there new home.
