We live in Shangai La, down a dirt road, on 5 wooded acres in Wake County. It's peaceful and quiet. Wildlife is abundant - deer, owls, hawks, rabbits, and an opossum, to name a few. (Fyi, cell coverage is limited, Verizon works ok, Sprint & Att not well at all. You should be able to pick up local tv channels)
We love to boondock and have our camper set up for off-road camping and will be happy to share our knowledge and experiences with you!
Yes, an 11 pound Schnoodle!
We love being out west and finding off road locations. Some favorite spots are near Arches and Moab in Utah. Maxwell Wildlife Area in New Mexico is breathtaking.

As it seems customary so far we are far more blessed by our guest than we could ever offer. Last night was no exception. Having guest that remind us how wonderful our small town is and of course great friendship what more could one ask for.
So grateful this host is here. Will miss them when this job is finished and travels take us in different directions. Will seek them out on the road that’s for sure 😀
Wake up to the wildlife. Loved staying here, hosts were very nice and friendly.
Setting wooded and shaded, plenty of room. Doug and Andrea are terrific people. Fun and welcoming.
Hosts are longtime RVers with wealth of knowledge to share with a newbie like me. Wooded lot, saw deer, heard calls of courting owls! So appreciated the 15 amp hookup and quiet night. Lovely place to visit!
Our stay was very relaxing and peaceful. Waking up to the pack of deer was the perfect start to a beautiful stay. One of our favorite host so far we can not say enough good things and look forward to seeing them more often.
We’ve passed one night with our hosts and we only have Nice remembers of them! They’re sweet and very funny. We refere this place at 💯. Thanks again D. and A. 😘
We had a fabulous visit at Camp Caruolo. From the moment we first contacted them about hosting us for a night, we knew this was going to be one of those new friendships that we’ll keep for a long time.
Their directions were so helpful, especially the warning of a tricky turn. The parking area for guests was level and clear of obstructions and they offered us access to electricity and water. It was very quiet at their BW site and we had a great night’s sleep.
We were invited to join them on their back deck for afternoon beverages and also in the morning for a fire and watch the deer in the woods.
Camp Caruolo gave us a dinner suggestion and we had a delicious meal at that restaurant. The next day they told us about the state farmers market that was close by and we took that in to our days outing.
We had so many great discussions on camping adventures and what life on the road full timing was like.
Fun hosts with tons of RVing experience. Helped me with questions about tire inflation and other topics I am green about. Saw deer in late afternoon, heard courting owls! Safe, beautiful wooded area to get a good night's rest. So hope to meet up with them in our travels!
