While sitting around discussing post retirement options a decision was made to sell The Ranch and move on to something else. In the middle of looking at properties across the West and where we might want to go I half in jest said " We could always go wander around in an RV and figure it out". That idea was met with the "yeah right, are you nuts look". Reckon I wasn't so nuts after all cuz here we are trying to piece together what has now become Plan A.
Its not something we can pull off for a year or two (way too many things we have to take care of here first) but we can do our homework, make some short test runs to see what works best for us and start learning about the lifestyle. Running across this website we both thought it might be another way of seeing the different setups and talking with folks that have been doing this to get some insight on what we're about to do.

Couldn't say as we haven't started down that road yet.

This was our first time using this site and if every host is as friendly and welcoming as Robert then this is one is our best rv investments. For our 38' class A in with no issues at all. After we setup he showed us around a little. All in all We saw numerous rabbits and ducks. He had 50amp service and water, but we were full on both. We would definitely use him again when passing through.
On our way West, we stopped at Robert's ranch in Vinton. Magnificent view of the mountains and a wild environment. Brenda was away but Robert took care of us and our dog which could run on the premisses without a leash... Very good location to boondock with electricity and a host who is a story teller and a nature lover. Thanks
Robert and Brandy were very warm welcoming hosts for our overnight. They had us over for coffee/cider (it was COLD outside!!) and a slice of pie. But the best part was the conversation. We really had a wonderful time chatting about pets, traveling, the weather, and many other topics. If we are in the area again we plan to stop in for a stay over. Thanks R n B. Jim and Denise
The host are great helped us set up right by their windmill. Robert was a wealth of info on El Paso area. Good place for spotting wildlife a roadrunner entertained us ever evening we were there. We would stay again when in El Paso, TX
Robert was really helpful and knowledgable about the El Paso area and we enjoyed visiting with him. He has a quiet shady spot for the rig, easy in and out! We really loved his recommendation to go to Historic Mesilla, near Las Cruzes. The Double Eagle Restaurant was worth every penny and minute. Thanks Robert!
Handy location between Las Cruces and El Paso yet still in a lovely quiet location. Hosts were a wealth of information about the region and very helpful helping me find a dentist for some emergency work. Enjoyed seeing some of the natural wildlife around their property.
Very friendly and helpful people. Beautiful piece of property. We enjoyed our stay with them.
