Middle age couple love to spend time with each other. Both still semi-employed and hope to retire soon. Cindy has a few physical challenges but will come out to enjoy company when able.Tom is handy and quiet. we will do what we can help bring joy where ever we go. We have both received our vaccines against COVID-19. Look forward to seeing all the guests and hosts we hope to meet!
We have worked all our lives. Cindy Is a NP and Tom works in the oil field . We have been married over 40 years ( I was just a baby) . we are both motorcycle licensed and bring some 150 cc scooters with us. Cindy loves to sew, crochet and just recently started quilting.
Small miniature schnauzer. she is a rescue dog, 14 years old and still acts like a puppy. very quiet and loves children from birth to 99 years old.
Every place we have been we have had a great time. we recently "ate" our way across the gulf coast. Best food in Louisiana.but we love a good sause!
Forester by forest river with Covered trailer that is 8 feet we use it to carry motorcycles to get around town.
It was an absolute pleasure having them here. Very nice setup and EXPERT parking/leveling. I was so impressed! Wishing them safe travels and fun times ahead! Healing thoughts for Cindy's foot. They are welcome back anytime.
Had an outstanding visit. Shared a lot of info and experiences. Look forward to possible get together when we go to Texas. Welcome back any time and by any hosts.
I was gone, but my wife said they were nice people.
I'm checking out the nice pillows. They NAP very well. 😊
They're welcome back anytime.
We had the pleasure of hosting this wonderful couple. Their communication was excellent and they were an absolute delight to visit with. To begin with, I was impressed at his ability to back his enclosed trailer behind his Class C through our gate and down the driveway with ease. As a person that enjoys backing a trailer (weird as that sounds), I greatly appreciate coming across someone that can do the same. Tom did not disappoint!
We watched with amazement as they unloaded their Honda scooters from the trailer, loaded up and off they went for a grocery run...with Cindy sporting a pretty pink helmet as she managed her scooter with skill and confidence.
It was a great visit. Since they are also BDW hosts, their time with us was appreciated. We would welcome them back to The Steel Magnolia anytime during their travels. ...Excellent!
Quiet and handy to the highway, it was a perfect evenings respite on our way west. Thanks
Tom met us at the spot to assist with parking, it was a perfect spot for us, quiet, & restful. Tom was gracious, kind , and very helpful! Thank you so much for the stay and we will definitely stop by again if we pass this way again!
TomandCindy texted us with a restaurant recommendation for lunch on our way heading west. He came by shortly after we pulled in to make sure we were on the reinforced parking pad and we chatted briefly. This is dry camping in a lot next to a cemetery - very quiet. The address on the telephone pole is visible only after you pass the driveway so be sure to pull into the first driveway on the left after the cemetery. We missed it and had to circle round the block which was no problem because it’s a quiet area, no traffic. Thanks, TomandCindy for a restful stay.
These hosts are as good as it gets. Was provided with help backing in my rig, and good conversation. The location is great for stays in the greater eastern Houston area. It is a little bit of open country in a urban residential area. Great for those not needing services or generator use.
I spent one night, on my way to Louisiana. Very welcoming couple. Highly recommended.
TomandCindy responded to my late request and made us welcome, as if we were old friends. A lovely street to spend the night —
Tom and Cindy are wonderful hosts! I loved our conversations. Very spacious and quiet, however the firmer grass "pad" for parking is quite limited. I was probably pushing the limit with my 35' motorhome. The issue is soft ground, not muddy or spongy, but a heavy RV could make a serious indent on the grass. I parked my Jeep between the motorhome and quiet residential street. "Above and beyond" is because they came to my rescue on Saturday night after my car was towed to a Jeep dealer and an Uber back to the motorhome was questionable. Instead of accepting money, they hope I'll pay it forward in the future like they just did.... (of course!).
The hosts have a wonderful spot. It is easy to find and not hard to get into. I spoke with Tom for a bit and what a nice gentleman he is. I hope someday I can return the Boondockers favor. Thanks again, Bryan
Tom came on his scooter to welcome us and we had a great time chatting with him and he was very helpful and shared his travel experience and also gave us some good points to visit.
This was our first time connecting with BW. We wanted to try it out locally before a long road trip in May. We're from Houston and had never explored the Baytown area. Loved the parks and the birding is phenomenal. Thanks to TomandCindy for their kindness.
I never got to meet the hosts but they made it a super simple process to find their property and get set up. And it was a much appreciated quiet night which is a true rarity so close to a major city.
Great hosts! They were very generous with allowing us to stay! Thank you again!!
Host was welcoming and gave me information on dedicated GPS. Really nice place to spend the night, quiet and safe. Would recommend
TomandCindy have such a peaceful spot with lots to do in close proximity. We went to several nice parks to hike and canoed on one of the nearby lakes. Just a walk around the neighborhood was a pleasure. The “neighbors” mentioned in their profile were well behaved and quiet...haha. Thanks so much for the nice spot and we’ll keep you in mind next time through the area.
I requested to stay a couple of days before my trip there, with uncertainty of when I would arrive, but they were very easy and accommodating. I got a good nights rest in a nice neighborhood. Very friendly hosts who helped me back into the spot when I arrived just after dark. They even loaned me a adapter when I couldn’t find mine! And recommended a couple of good restaurants. (I made sure to maintain social distance and wore my mask as I always do when arriving to any new property.) I appreciated the extra southern hospitality! :)
Unfortunately it rained the entire time we were there so all we did was cook in and watch tv. But We only stopped for the night so out was no big deal. For what we needed, we couldn’t have asked for a better location. Level spot. Nice area and great reception for streaming movies. Thanks for allowing us to stay!
Bob and Marcy
Tom and Cindy were a great hosts. We had a great needed rest at their place. Quite and beautiful place.
Thank you Tom and Cindy.
We had a late night and TomandCindy came out to meet us and made sure we found the right spot in the dark we were gone early and had no issues. Thank you.
We had a nice stay. The spot was easy to get in and out of and we enjoyed seeing NASA and the surrounding areas.
Thank you, Tom, for the easy guidance onto your lovely property!
It's convenient, well kept, with plenty of privacy.
Exactly what a weary traveler needed for the night!!
Being so close to a bayou is really cool for us Californians! Great weather (cool) and such a peaceful and dark sly location. We'd suggest having four wheel drive truck because the lawn that you park on is deep and lush. Also, i'd call when you are there so you know which drive to pull into - TomandCindy were very friendly and helpful in directing us where to park. Thanks!
