but are stationary right now. We plan to full time RV in 5 years, approx. We have some questions and would like to to ask our guest all about the good, the bad, and the ugly related to full time RVing.
We've traveled from the up and down the east coast. Our profile picture was taken on a on ferry on Lake Champlain while traveling between VT and NY.
We own a septic tank company. Don't worry, the truck is parked a long way from your spot. You'll never see the truck unless it's coming and going from time to time, and it uses a separate driveway the one you're parked on.
We have 3 outdoor cats. Two older cats and young cat (someone dropped a kitten off here in the summer of 2020). They usually stay hidden from strangers so you may never see them. However, they ARE nosey and may walk all over your vehicle(s) when they think you're not looking.
Dexter is a black cat. Dexter is a narcissist and thinks he should be the only pet, and WE are only here to serve him. Rex is a shy, soft gray striped cat. Rex is a sweetheart and loves everyone - once he gets to know you. Sox is the baby. He's black & white with white feet.
N/A - sadly.
Our hosts were terrific! We enjoyed our stay at the Drake's Nest. We were welcomed, guided to our parking spot and allowed to use the electricity and water. It was a little wet during our stay and Covid was still demanding social distancing, but we managed to get in one good evening of getting acquainted. Our hosts were very kind and generous to allow us to boondock and catch a break from the RV Resorts and State Parks. Thank you!!
Had a wonderful stay at the beautiful, quiet Drake's Nest site. They provide a lovely site with water and power. They have so many very happy birds in the yard...it was a joy to see them flying around and bathing in the small puddles. The hosts are so friendly, generous and accommodating. We would love to come back again and stay longer! Should you ever make your way to the Canadian east coast, please come and visit.
DrakesNest were very hospitable and kind. They were extremely accommodating and awesome hosts. They make me want to pay it forward and hopefully they have the same luck meeting hosts as good as they are.
I came in after driving in the rain 6 hours and getting lost. The hosts were great and parked my RV and get me set up and made sure I was comfortable. The host and I got to talk some and had a great time. She is very kind and caring and even helped give me info to help my sons career. She then was so kind to drive me out of town to make sure I found the way past the detours because they were shooting a movie in town. Very quiet and beautiful in country and she is a fellow cat lover also which my cats enjoyed. Thank you!❤️
This has to be the best place ever for a great place to park, electric and water and chirping birds, woods to walk in and wonderful peace and quiet! Add to that the gracious host/hostess who go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable, and it is an unbeatable combo!
Only downside was AT&T service is only minimally available in the afternoon here. Or if we had cloud cover. But it resulted in my actually not being in the internet as much as normal. Which in and of itself was rather a nice break.
Can’t thank them enough for everything!
Our hosts were wonderful. Had great conversations about rving, what do look for in choosing "the one" to live or travel in. Very generous space for our 27 ft camper. Very generous folks. Peaceful and quiet countryside setting. We will be back and will look you guys up and when you get out west, look us up.
Two of the nicest people you will ever meet with one of the most quiet host sites ever! Directions are super helpful and easy to follow and the location is easily accessible from the highway. Hosts even invited us in for an evening chat. This is southern hospitality at it's finest. We highly recommend DrakesNest!
P.S. the nearby town is super cute and has some "history" (at least for those Walking Dead TV show fans)
The host greeted me when I arrived and offered me the use of water and electric which I didn’t require but she was kind to offer. She is a cordial host and was welcoming to me and my puppy Lila as well. The spot is rural and peaceful. I would not hesitate to stay again.
Note: Use the complete directions they provide, including the GPS coordinates. I used google map for final approach and went up their neighbor’s long curvy driveway which was challenging to back out of.
We enjoyed our time at the Drake Nest! Amazing hosts, we enjoyed chatting with them and learned a lot about the area. Easy to get in and get set up. They let us park on their driveway and hook up to power and water which was great. If you’re a walking dead fan they filmed right in town! The little town is really charming with tons to see in such a small place. Old fashion train stations, local restaurants, and the laundromat is nice and good prices. We used the library and ran in the park while in town. We will definitely return and highly recommend this host if you’re in the area!
The Drakes were great hosts and soooo welcoming. Great access and peaceful quiet spot. Perfect for our family visit. There hospitality was spot on. We hope that when they go boondocking they will come out west and stay at our home. Thank you so much.
