I have boondocked now for the past 2 years and this site is by far the best place we have ever experienced. The host, Rob, was gracious and inviting and the visit was a 4 day virtual rainforest! Our dog was able to roam safely as well! If we are ever in the area, we will be back to enjoy another stay! Docgoulart:)
Had a two night stay here in what Is similar to being in your own little forest. I was welcomed and enjoyed a wonderful conversation with my host. Took his advice in driving to hurricane Ridge and was totally pleased. Yes, yes, yes!
Thank you for offering such an amazing piece of beauty & serenity for your guests to enjoy. This is one of my top favorite places to boondock! The host greeted us and let us know where to park for sun since we are solar. We enjoyed our stay, and we even got to see a family of 3 deer in the woods! Which is why I didn’t let my dog off leash! :-) 🦌 thank you so much and hope to see you again next year when we return to the area.
This was our first BW stay. RobNorma were great hosts and right there waiting for us when we drove in. We were shown all around, (even helped us newbies park our trailer). The spot was quiet and private, and there are some very nice walking trails through their forest. We really enjoyed our quiet, beautiful spot and will definitely request a stay the next time we are in the area!
We followed Rob’s directions and met him in his driveway. Rob was very friendly and we had a great conversation about RV travel. Rob had done a lot of work to his property to make it it comfortable for Boondockers, and he showed us our parking spot for the night. The spot was level, wooded but with a nice cleared grassy area. We slept well and felt refreshed in the morning. Overall a great experience!
Lovely private space with walking trails on the property. There were 2 other Boondockers there and we all had plenty of privacy and had an enjoyable time together as well. So grateful that Rhody Acres provides this space and opportunity for respite and community. Host graciously offered amenities and produce. Host was attentive and super friendly yet gave space to enjoy the property on our own. Only 10 min to the picturesque and artsy town of Port Townsend. Would love to stay again as travels take us there.
Rob and Norma are very welcoming, friendly hosts. They have a beautiful spot nestled in the trees yet close to town. I’m so glad I got a chance to visit after we met on the road. You’ll love their spot. I hope to come visit again!
They were super gracious hosts and very generous! It was wonderful, I definitely recommend especially if you want to do any sightseeing around port Townsend!
Lovely hosts and the perfect spot to explore Port Townsend! We look forward to our return! VeriZon had one bar so could text and get email. Thanks!
Oh my goodness. We tend to choose locations to come and go, just to sleep. This was our "destination" as an easy getaway from Seattle. The property was so nice and calm. The conversation was great- very kind and gracious couple. You can tell they really put in the effort to make the place guest friendly with dedicated camper spots and beautiful trails to stroll through the acres. We will be back! Great property and even better people! Thank you!
RobNorma's Port Townsend hideaway was a wonderful way to end our 2020 camping season. Their quiet seven acres, located south of town, is a wooded bonanza in a secluded meadow with spots for a couple of trailers or vans. RobNorma, a delightful host, met us at the gate and gave us our choice of spots. He then used his Kubota to move our trailer down a little lane to an especially hidden spot! They had piles of cured firewood that made for easy and warm fires in the evenings. RobNorma came over from their house one evening and shared the fire and good conversation!
RobNorma's Rhody Acres was one of the highlights of our camping season. Port Townsend is a wonderful artistic community with loads of shops, boats galore to look at, and lots of outdoor activities. We drove to Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park, toured the S'Kallam tribes art and gift shop, and took in a couple local cider tasting rooms. All in all, we had a fantastic time!
This was a beautiful property. Rob was a wonderful host. He recommended restaurants to us of which we took advantage. The spot is very private and we even had a deer come through. There are also trails through their property. If you are anywhere near here, do take advantage of their exceptional property and their gracious hospitality.
Rhody acres was fantastic! Great location, beautiful spot and awesome hospitality. Fire smoke coming off the pacific sent me home early but I enjoyed exploring the town and the lovely beaches. The host was friendly and helpful with information about the area.
Beautiful backyard area, private with easy access. Driveway is hidden, go slow. Lovely downtown. Lots of unique shops, plenty of places to get near or see the water. For me, Rhody acres will be a top location! R &N are fabulous hosts. I like chatting in the evening. He had a propane fire ring we were able to use. Rob was very helpful on places, a wonderful sandwich shop and brewery (Discovery) Trails, the ferry to the islands and wonderful farmers market.
I was graciously offered water and electric that I declined. He did build a little box to go over my batteries, so kind! And he offered me to stay another night.
Many people are dealing with the fires and smoke, let's all be grateful and stay positive!
We really loved this beautiful and private setting. Our hosts were very welcoming and gracious....had a nice conversation when we arrived and enjoyed a peaceful evening. Definitely recommend this location if camping in the area.... will look forward to another stay!
Rhody Acres is a little piece of heaven! It was great to be able to bike around the cute town of Fort Townsend, hike along the beach at Fort Worden State Park, and enjoy a craft brew at Discovery Bay Brewing. But it was even more wonderful to return to Rhody Acres in the evening and enjoy our own private campsite on their beautifully forested property. Thanks RobNorma for your gracious hospitality and for sharing the quiet beauty of Rhody Acres with us!
It was nice to have stayed there away from the chaos of campgrounds and the city.
The hosts have created a gorgeous sunny space in the woods, complete with flower beds and a walking trail. Private and quiet location but also convenient to town and local attractions. Due to circumstances beyond either of our control we couldn’t spend any time together other than helping me get settled in arrival - but very helpful by text with suggestions and making sure all was well. Outstanding welcome and highly appreciated during this challenging time for travel logistics!
Hosts are helpful, kind, and gracious. The grounds are beautiful, private and peaceful with easy access to Port Townsend and sites nearby. The hosts made sure we had everything we needed, including information about the area. They were very kind in answering all of our questions and guiding us to some magnificent places on the Olympic Peninsula. Highly recommend this wonderful stay ☺️
Host went out of your way to receive us and share unique multicultural life experience. The place is truly a feeling of staying in serenity. Visit again.
After being very attentive and responsive to our communications, the host met us upon arrival and directed us to a nice and level spot at the top of the little hill. We were surrounded by beautiful trees in a peaceful setting. He graciously let us use firewood on site to make a fire in the fire pit. The property has pretty trails for walking and we had restful sleep in this serene location. Very quiet and relaxing-what a base for exploring the surrounding area. We can't wait to stay here again!
We felt fortunate to stay at Rob’s place. He is great to talk with, very patient and never hesitant to offer help to accommodate us. I enjoyed talking with Rob. His spot is quiet, clean, and a pleasure to stay at.
... with a lovely property in a great location, who was kind enough to hunt me down after I over-shot my destination and then introduce me to Port Townsend. Best to arrive B4 dark and have Rob usher you in then guide you out when departing so as to avoid mud in the winter. Salud!
This host was amazing. Greeted us upon arrival and then helped me get my truck unstuck from some mud with his tractor after warning me.
Water and electric were both available and the property was beautiful.
We wish we couldve stayed longer. There is so much in the area.
Our single night stay at Rhody Acres was wonderful. RobBob met us at the entrance and directed us to our "carpet-like" spot for the night. Nestled in the park-like forest, we were away from the hustle bustle of the busy little town of Port Townsend but really only a few minutes away. After a short introduction, RobBob left us to settle in but we invited he and his better half to join us for refreshments. Near dusk they arrived with chairs in hand. We had an outstanding visit with our hosts well into the evening. We really enjoyed our short stay and would eagerly return. If you are planning a trip to the quaint city of Port Townsend for a couple of days and need a place to relax, this is the spot! Thanks to R&N (our gracious hosts) for a great visit.
Thanks very much for a wonderful 2 night stay. The site was level and surrounded by trees for a private peaceful setting. Our host was very helpful and gave us lots of ideas for things to do in Port Townsend. We wandered the lovely town and were very impressed with the history and the architecture. Back at our site we enjoyed a quiet afternoon which was welcome after travelling for a few days. Will definitely return if we are ever in Port Townsend again, Thank You!!
My hosts were warm and helpful, greeting me upon my arrival and communication was flawless. I was able to hook up to electricity and top off my tank as needed with water. My hosts made sure I had everything I needed and then some. The lot was perfect for sleep and the needs of my dog. The parking spot had dappled sun/shade and was lovely. It was very quiet except for the occasional car on the highway or barking dog in the far distance. Neither were close enough to be a bother. Lovely couple and property. Highly recommend !!
What a great experience! Rob greeted and helped get us in place. We had many things in common and learned about the history of the area and where to explore in Port Townsend. Beautiful location. Thank you Rob!
We had such a great time staying at Rhody Acres. It was in a beautiful location very close to restaurants and shops. Our hosts were a great help in many different ways from recommending we get a reservation for the ferry crossing, which saved us a lot of time and gas, to recommending where to go explore based on the time we had. We really enjoyed getting to know the both of them and hopefully look forward to visiting again one day. Great people! We can't thanks them enough for their insight and hospitality.
