I'm a retired educator that is outgoing with eclectic interests that include domestic & international travel, hiking, kayaking, cross-country skiing, acoustic guitar playing, meeting people with diverse and unique experiences, fixing stuff and more! Have lived, worked and traveled extensively abroad, starting with serving in the Peace Corps for 2 years in Ghana, West Africa upon graduation from UC Santa Barbara.
My wife is also retired (Occupational Therapist) with similar diverse interests, including gardening and volunteers teaching English to immigrants/refugees.
Enjoy fixing things around the house and RV systems, including RV solar installations, etc.
We often travel with our 16 lb dog, Maya, a well-behaved Shih Tzu – Poodle mix (the cutest girl ever!).
Favorite boondocking spots are mostly in the desert southwest in winter. For example, in Arizona: La Posa North LTVA (Long Term Visitor Area), Kofa National Wildlife Refuge, Imperial Dam LTVA, etc. There's spectacular kayaking on the backwaters of the Colorado River off of Squaw Lake near the Imperial Dam LTVA.
Our home is in Enumclaw, WA, a small rural community an hour southeast of Seattle and close to Mt. Rainier NP.
2011 Winnebago View 24J often with a hitch-mounted kayak/bike carrier with our two kayaks and bikes; Energy independent with 300W solar, rarely plug in and virtually never use the generator (it only has 30 hours!).
Namaste stayed with us one night. We enjoyed hosting them and meeting them. Friendly RVers who are always welcome back. They arrived at our place before we did after completing a long drive and even fed us dinner when we got home.
