Husband and I are total opposites. I am very chatty and outgoing. He is quiet and reserved. We enjoy the peace, quiet and beauty of our surroundings.
We do not drink, smoke or go drugs. We are not health nuts. We are just your normal type folks.
I enjoy quilting and this is what I do mostly. My husband still works part time. He works with computers. When not working he is busy building on our property.
We have 3 samoyeds that are our life. My husband goes bikejouring with them most days. In the winter I go dog sledding with them. They are extremely friendly. Our dogs go with us most a the time. We also have a 16 yr old American eskimo dog. At this point and time I am not real sure he knows where he is most of the time. However, he is still enjoying life.
We have not been boondocking yet. We will be doing that this winter.
We live on the edge of the Chequamegon National Forest. With over 800K acres of land to play in. We have 40 acres. With lots of trails on them. So if you have a 4 wheeler bring it along. We are about 20 miles from Bayfield a beautiful tourists town. Where you can take a boat ride to the Apostle Island. The beauty in this area is totally amazing. You could spend a month here and still not have enough time to enjoy everything.

We were happy to have them return. Hope in the future to have more time to visit.
Gina-Jim have been host but they said this was actually their first time as guests. We were privalaged to have them stay with us. We ejoyed a couple of short visits with them while they were here. Hoping someday we can pay a return visit.
Lovely hosts! Beautiful property! Close to Apostles Islands. This was our first BDW property to stay at and it was an amazing experience! We can’t wait to come back when it’s warmer to explore some more.
This is one of the quietest places we've stayed, it's right off a main road, but very lightly traveled in mid-September.
Gina-Jim were great hosts, they even gave us some brochures on the local area.
Just a short drive into town to Kayak around the Red Cliff's (we did a tour with bayfield kayak).
Gina-Jim were super nice to talk to and we wish them luck with their new property and all the upgrades they have planned!
Lovely couple, sweet dogs. Your secluded rest stop is tucked away in the woods, beauty and serenity abound, short walk to a beautiful lake w a great sunset view. Hosts were VERY helpful about what to see and do nearby. lots to do in the area.
A private area for camping, just across from Long Lake. It's an easy 1.6 mile hike around the lake. Gina was very helpful.
We got in after dark and Gina was very helpful in showing us where the site was by driving to us. She was very friendly and had errands for next day so we didn’t see her after that. The spot with gorgeous with so many stars in the sky! There was no ambient light from electricity anywhere in the area and very few cars going by. Wonderfully peaceful.
The spot is aptly named. It was quiet and peaceful and it was a great base for our Apostle Island excursions coming from Duluth. The hosts welcomed us and showed us around. The directions were right on and the spot was easy to find. It is convenient to Ashland, Washburn and Bayfield. The spot was leveled and we didn’t need to deploy our levelers. Overall a great experience and thank you for hosting us for a couple of nights.
Justus4250’s place is beautiful and quiet, exactly as advertised. A short ride to town with a beautiful view of Lake Superior. Super nice, friendly and helpful, we will certainly stop in the next time we are up this way! Thanks so much!
Thanks to Justus 4250 for such a wonderful stay. The space was peaceful and was within walking distance to activities including a beautiful lake, beach and hiking. Thanks for your hospitality!
We were greeted warmly on the road as we came in. We were directed to our spot and it was very straight and level. We had a very quiet night! Definately would recommend for a stay close to US 2, Ashland, and the Apostle Islands. Thank you for your hospitality and good luck with your future endeavors!
The hosts here were very welcoming and provided us with great suggestions for what to see in the area as well as brochures. She showed my kids where to pick blueberries, let them pet her beautiful dogs, and had rock painting set up. We were totally unfamiliar with the area, but have definitely put it on our "need to return" list. This was an easy boondock site to pull in and out of even with an almost 40-foot rig. There are artesian wells in the area and a nearby campground where you can stop in for showers and Wifi. I didn't have cell service at the site, but I kind of prefer that! It's nice to disconnect for awhile. Driving down their road and coming over a rise and looking out over Lake Superior: WOW!
We had a great time visiting with these very friendly new hosts. Enjoyed watching the deer romp around in the mornings and evenings. Beautiful views And I enjoyed listening to the wind chimes. Be sure to visit Houghton falls preserve For an interesting hike through the ravine and out to Lake Superior. Hope to meet up with them again in our travels.
Our hosts were great people and we were surrounded by nature. Thank you for letting us stay
