We are a recently retired couple and we are ready to start exploring the beautiful United States. We recently purchased a VERY small 17' camper for a planned 2 month out west trip.
Robert has been an auto mechanic for the past 45 years and recently took and early retirement to enjoy life. He really is a jack of all trades and loves helping others.
Shelly took an early retirement in 2013 to have more time available to help her elderly parents and to take care of their 15 unit apartment complex.
We have been Landlords since 2003 and invested in rentals for our retirement years. We are finally at that stage in life where we can start traveling and seeing the glorious surroundings God has given us.
Robert has many skills and is really a jack of all trades. His passion is CARS. However, he is a mechanic by trade. He loves to tinker on old cars and restoring them as well. His gifts and skills go far beyond that though as he has awesome fabricating skills, carpentry skills, and plumbing and electrical skills as well.
Shelly worked as an Administrative Assistant her whole life. Since her retirement, she has taken up the hobby of repurposing furniture and painting furniture to give it a new look. She also owns and manages a 15 unit apartment complex. Organization is her passion. Everything has to have a spot where it belongs.
We have two Australian Shepherds.
Bristol is a 6 year old red-tri female who is very high energy. She loves playing frisbee and fetch. Sometimes we have a hard time keeping up with her energy level. She sure is keeping us young.
Dover, who is 5-1/2, is our laid back, blue merle male. He's a mama's boy through and through. He also plays frisbee, but his go-to activity is playing fetch. He's also our protector of the yard and won't let any wild animals on the property.
We are newbies and just getting started. We can't wait to visit some boondocking locations. We will revise this section once we are officially on the road.
We were both born and raised in our current hometown of Montoursville, PA. We never left. We love it here. We built our home in 1986 and still live here today. We live minutes away from the home of the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, PA. We live approximately 5 miles outside town in a rural setting. Not too far out and close enough to get to local shops. We love the seasons our state has to offer and the beautiful view we have of the Bald Eagle Mountains.
We have 2015 Viking 17 FQ. It's literally a TINY house on wheels with a bed, kitchen and bathroom. We needed something lightweight to pull with our Toyota 4Runner Sport.
I hosted this couple on a quick overnight stay. They were very respectful of our property. Welcome back any time!
Although I just returned from Portland, it was nice to host new boondockers & there dogs. Except for the Emergency Ambulance! Grandma's slip & fall & ER visit, will wake you up pretty quick.
Otherwise, I hope you enjoyed your stay.
You guys are exceptional folk. Thanks for all the kind words.
