My name is Irene and my husband is Simon. We are both active, in our fifties/ sixties and married for many years. We are both semi-retired and trying to figure out this new lifestyle. I retired from a desk job within the Govt and Simon is self employed in construction. We plan to travel with our fifth wheel but also overseas. Recently, we have hiked a bit in France and England and pretty soon we're off to Peru. We would like to try heading south for the winter.
I really enjoy hiking in our area, so I do know many of our local trails.
We have a cat who believes and is the king of our home.
I love dogs and presently have dog living in our suite but they are like children and do need constant attention.
When we are away, our Tennant looks after our cat, so he doesn't have to leave his castle.
Don't have favourites at the moment...hope to find some
We live in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia. Our town, Chilliwack, is surrounded by mountains, and farm fields. With a population of 83,000, Chilliwack has all the services, that I need and a lot of people come to retire here. We are close enough to Vancouver to enjoy the city but far enough away from the business of a metropolis.

Simon and Irene are so, so friendly and welcoming. We hope to return when we can stay longer.
I parked in front of Promontory Haven for two nights while I had my Escape trailer serviced by the manufacturer.
What a great visit. Mr. & Mrs. Popup are coffee lovers! I was able to brew them fresh home roasted coffee both mornings. I showed the Popups how easy it is to home roast by roasting two batches on their balcony. We brewed some of those beans the next morning. They may become the newest members of the home coffee roasting community.
There was lots of great visiting (we compared notes on Baja California and many other things) with lots of warm hospitality. These folks were among the very first to sign up for BW, but they have only hosted travelers and never stayed with a BW host. I encouraged them to do so.
If you get a chance stop here you won't regret it.
Popup was quick to respond to my request and additional communications. Although a change in travel plans prevented us from staying here at the last minute, they seemed very hospitable. If travelling in the area in the future, I would request to stay here again.
Rolled up yesterday evening to hosts Irene & Simon waiting for me with a warm welcome and an electrical cord! Had a great conversation and then a very quiet evening and sound sleep. Lovely couple and neighborhood. Thanks so much!!
We had two quiet nights there. As expected and uncomplicated. Thanks for having us!
We've had a great stay at Irene and Simon: a hartwarming welcome, great tips for our roadtrip and enough space to park our RV. This was our first Boondock and it was beyond our expectations! Irene and Simon were lovely hosts and it was really nice to meet them.
Hopefully we'll meet again someday!
