Although British born ( my wife is a Scot me English ) we have not lived in Britain for many years. Following almost a year touring the Middle East and North Africa in a VW camper, we moved to Bermuda, working there for 12 years, we then 'retired' to an island called Lamu in Kenya during which time we restored our 18th c Swahili house. 8 years or so later we relocated to Zanzibar off the coast of Tanzania and built our house on a west coast beach, and stayed there for a further 10 years. We then decided to return to Europe and after several months touring around in a 28' VW RV including a trip to Venice we bought our present house here in Spain. But with our blood so 'thin' from living in hot climates for so long, we found the winters here too cold and 8 years ago bought a condo in Ft Myers FL. In 2013 we bought a 34 Ft Four Winds RV, and took a 4 month 12,000 mile round trip from our place in Florida to California, which was truly incredible, and stayed with many Boondocker members. Unable to park the RV in our urbanization we sold it , but are now looking to buy another for more adventures.
Ex race driver but as money was always tight I had to give that up in 1973 I am a qualified mechanic so I am quite good at things mechanical. My wife was an English French and Spanish teacher which has been a very big asset when 'on the road' !
We had a class C 2001 31' Fourwinds Chateau , but have now sold it.
Barry and Dot spent a couple of days with us. English wit always entertains me. They shared their rich lives with us, what a treasure. Hope they visit again.
Barry and Dot stayed overnight in front of our house this week. They are lovely, interesting people! We had a wonderful visit with them, if short. I hope to see them again. Debby
We highly recommend this couple. They were very interesting and a lot of fun.
