Retired guy traveling, architect, photographer

Do you know or have you hosted this user?

I'm a retired architect, interested in seeing the country. History is a major interest, and I like to photograph its traces along the road. Sometimes "road" can be a pretty loose term, as ghost towns are a big draw. I'm sort of a bookworm; enjoy music, stories (hearing and telling), meeting folks. Something that will come as no surprise to members of this site: back roads have a magnetic attraction.

I'm originally from Texas, and have lived in Austin for most of the past 36 years.

Am reasonably quiet; don't hurl trash out the windows, or set fires in inappropriate spots; and I try to leave before folks wish I would.

Skills & Expertise to Share

I come down heavily in the "odd jobs" category. Am good at holding the other end of the plank. Can do rough-and-ready artwork, sale signs etc. Am a terrible cook. Photography. Have some construction experience.

Favorite Boondocking Locations

Any back roads. Am a relative newcomer to boondocking.
