David is a retired Orlando police officer, part-time professional Santa Claus, and works with the Florida Atty General to help seniors avoid scams. He was born in Scotland and has lived in Florida since arriving in America at the age of 7 years. Kathy recently retired as a technical writer, is a professional genealogist, and likes sewing/quilting and bird watching. Now with a little more time on our hands, we hope to travel around the U.S. in our new Hymer camper van!
Kathy: Consummate tech nerd (phones, computer, smart devices).
David: Can fix just about anything, comfortable with electrical things. Innovative use of odds and ends when the right stuff isn't available.
No, no pets.
Have only boondocked a couple of times (up to June 2019); in New Mexico twice (parking lot and street), and one time at a Cracker Barrel. That's it so far!
Home is an island 12 miles long and 2 miles wide, off the northeast Atlantic coast of Florida - Amelia Island. We live on the only "town" on the island, called Fernandina Beach.
We have a new Hymer Aktiv, built on a RAM ProMaster chassis, which fits in an ordinary parking spot. Everything is self-contained (shower, toilet, kitchen); solar panels, 30-amp connection.
