We first met when we were both in the Army May of 1987 at Ft. Lee, VA during our AIT. Little did we know that a few years later and a serious car accident would bring together again this guy from rural Missouri and a city girl from Wisconsin. That was 30 years ago now and it feels like yesterday - our love, friendship and partnership feels just a fresh, strong and new. We both have a background with the US Navy as well - Doug served 1 yr then transferred to the Army and Cindy was in the NJROTC for 3 yrs in high school. See, a match meant to happen.
Being having been Army Drill Sergeants, bet you can image how we work together so well. LOL! Doug is the 'builder', always having to build something. His mind is always working, creating something that in the end comes out amazing. He's the one who will always have grease/dirt on his hands etc because he's always working on something. Though he is very serious when it comes to working etc, he is the silly one, kids just love him because he makes the laugh hard. I, on the other hand am the independent one, the designer, the organizer, the presenter... The one who you found always wearing the high heal shoes. But when you put us together you have a 'dream team' for sure. Army Buddies for life. We will always have each others '6'.
Doug has always come up with one crazy idea to another over the years. But I have to say the craziest idea I thought he came up with in September 2017 was to buy a school bus and convert it into an RV. I never thought we would get the conversion done. Little did I know that we would get through it together and it ending up being one of the best ideas Doug has ever had, next to asking me to marry him, of course.
So now with our conversion completed we plan to travel this great land we served so proudly & honorably for a combined 25 years; slow down, be free, and live our lives free of what Society has to us to do a be

Again the most nicest people you will ever meet. From accepting our last minute request and allowing us to stay an extra night because of weather to providing us a safe place during 2 tornado warnings they went above and beyond what was necessary. Great conversations with likewise people. We highly recommend and hope our paths cross once again.
PS. Be sure to check out their bus(campers)
Had a really nice night at Doug and cindy’s.
Very quiet location. Surrounded by national Forrest.
We shared a bowl of chili, a bottle of wine and a lot of fun conversation about shared interests and living in Wisconsin.
You must ask them to share their story of Coco the dog.
I have been invited back and will take them up on their generous hospitality
Although we were there first boon dockers guests, you would not have guessed it. They made us feel right at home and we have made two really good friends. Only meant to stay one night, but wanted to spend more time with them - this is what Boon dockers Welcome is all about, sharing our experiences and dreams over a glass of wine.
We had to change our plans at the last minute due to weather and they were very accommodating and gracious about the last minute change. I would recommend them highly
