We had a great experience at this location. Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Their property and house are in a peaceful spot but not too far from the action. We would love to come back to this location again in the future.
Our first Boondockers Welcome experience could not have been any better. The host couple was more than friendly, very welcoming with lots of knowledge and information about the area. The property is a little gem - a very nice, privat, quiet, shady place to park our trailer and conviniendly located. We drove to Grand Rapids via bike - though the Millennium Park - a very enjoyable ride to down town.
We are looking forward to meet them again.
What a great time, staying at Riverbend Retreat! D+M were super friendly, couldn't be nicer. Greeted us as we arrived, helped us to get parked and settled in. The property is perfect for boondocking, wooded but easy in and out. For sure will love to stop there again.
We enjoyed our stay here! Parking spot was level and quiet. Hosts were very welcoming and accommodating with water and electricity.
Beautiful gardens! Easy access to downtown Grand Rapids. Highly recommend!
Wonderful hidden gem in a residential area. Beautiful setting. Wonderful well kept perennial beds everywhere! Hostess was very personable and made us feel at home. We would highly recommend!!
Great spot.. easy location to some great breweries. Hosts greated us, showed us where to park, lovely spot under the trees. Invited us to join them at their favorite local brew pub for dinner! We have made new friends for sure.
We were welcomed by the hosts and they helped us navigate to our spot. Nicely leveled spot in the shade with a 15 amp hookup. We could fill our tank if needed.
There was a nice patio with chairs and lights to relax, or sit in the sun
Millennium park was at the end of the street and grand rapids only 15 minutes away.
In the morning the birds woke us up with their nicely songs. The yard is beautiful and well maintained.
Thanks for your hospitality!
This was our first Boondockers Welcome experience so we were a bit nervous, but our hosts made us feel like family from the moment we arrived, even greeting us with homemade chocolate chip cookies. Their home was beautiful with lots of space for our pups to run. They parked us in an area that gave us lots of privacy and set us up with water and electric. The hosts were extremely friendly but were careful to give us our space. We had lots of visits with family and friends planned, so we spent a fair amount of time away from their property over the Memorial Day Weekend. However, all the time we spent with them was very enjoyable and we would have loved to get to know them better if we had more time. Bottom line, this was a great experience and we look forward to many more Boondockers Welcome stays in the future!
Thank you for hosting us and I hope you use and enjoy Boondockers Welcome both hosting and as a guest. BW is a simple idea that really works well both as a guest and host.
Most gracious hosts! Very nice private level quiet site in the trees. Special.
WOW! What an amazing first ever Boondockers experience! We were greeted by MGrooter and made to feel at home from the first second! The location was perfect, a quiet oasis complete with beautiful gardens and a fire pit. And in an incredible act of kindness they let us borrow their car to drive to Mass. Yahoo, no Uber! We ended the night with a nice chat around the bonfire. I am so grateful for the kindness we were shown. I hope our paths cross again!
I loved my camping spot with an easy pull into the woods and turn around. This couple made me feel especially welcome and helped me get to know the area. I liked the Lake Michigan beach at Hoffmaster State Park 40 min away, and a visit to Meijer sculpture gardens 20 min away. Nearby Millennium Park and Johnson Park along the river are worth a visit too, biking/walking trails.
What a wonderful stop! Hosts were welcoming and friendly, left out chairs and wood for a fire, and even let our kids get eggs from their chicken coop. Beautiful property!
The Hosts were our first BDW and I think we started with the best!
They met us at the driveway and were as helpful as we wanted them to be. Their property is beautiful and has a wonderful tree canopy.
We would highly recommend a stay here.
We’ve had some wonderful BW encounters but this was topped the cake. Not only was the Mgrooters land beautiful they were both incredibly welcoming and hospitable. We enjoyed their stories and our daughter fell in love with them, their cats and their chickens! Our last day was bittersweet but we feel like we’ve made new friends!
