I travel to experience new places, the scenery and natural areas, cities and architecture, learning about geology and forestry, learning the history of the places I visit at museums and historic sites. I like going to car shows and car museums. I also travel to rock or blues concerts occasionally. I am a Marine Electrician at a builder of luxury yachts. I am single and I usually travel alone. I am very self sufficient, but I do enjoy meeting new people. Socializing around a campfire is enjoyable, but I'm perfectly content keeping to myself depending on my hosts' situation.
I know quite a lot about the history of Bucksport and Maine. I am a marine electrician.I've been camping all my life, with my parents from the time I was young, and as an adult, I've had two travel trailers, camped in several vans and in the back of my pickup. More and more I enjoy a minimal camping style much better than messing with a trailer.
Not yet, but I hope to spend time traveling the western United States, maybe retiring and boondocking full time. For now I want to explore Atlantic Canada since there is so much I haven't seen and I've driven around Maine until I'm a little tired of it.
I was born and raised (and currently live) in Bucksport, Maine. The town has a history of ship building and manufacturing and caters to tourists with its riverfront location. My family has been here at least 200 years.
My van is 236 inches long, or 19' 8" or six meters. As of the spring of 2018 I am building it out as a campervan. I do have the necessary facilities for sleeping, cooking, cold storage of food, a gray water tank and a portable toilet. I can (and will) camp without despoiling your yard in any way, Future goals include solar power as my electrical needs grow (I now charge a house battery off the alternator; I'll be driving every day when I'm only camping for a few days at a time.) I'd also like to get a diesel heater.
