Myself (Bruce) is a disabled veteran with 23yrs of military service in the PA ANG as an Aircraft Mechanic, Kathy has been a Teachers Aide in an Elementary school for 23 yrs she is retiring in June and we plan on starting to travel more to see the Country. We have a daughter, and 2 grandchildren.
We have had a MH of some sorts since 2003 and have just purchased our current MH in November of 2018, we got into the RV lifestyle so we would be able to travel with my medical conditions and get out and see the USA!
We typically do not like to spend our time RVing in campgrounds so we thought we would give Boondockers a try as we love to meet new people.
I (Bruce) have abilities in all sorts of mechanical repair and try and do almost all my own repair work, I liken myself to a jack of all trades but a master of none. Kathy is great with kids!
We travel with no pets but do own a cat, well we don't own her she allows us to take care of her :)
We typically camp in State Parks, have done some local to home Boondocking. We are capable of using our MH in a self-contained aspect. We do not care for campgrounds, I prefer to not be in that environment with rv's packed together. I would like to add we do like to interact with others though.
We have not had this MH for very long (11/2018) so as of filling this out we have only spent 1 night out camping so far.
We live in the town Stevens which is located in Lancaster County Pennsylvania and is a tourist destination for many who come to see the Amish Horse and buggy community. We lived in this area all our lives and do not consider it a tourist destination as it's our community. We are not of the horse and buggy faith though as you may have guessed :)
We have a 2011 Tiffin Breeze 28BR, It is sold as 28' but think it is ~30' in total length. Totally self-contained and has a diesel generator. We do not have solar at the time of our member registration but are looking into adding that so we do not have to use the generator for charging. It has one slideout on the drivers side that goes out 16-18". We do not need to use this slideout if we are short stay over-nighting. We have no towed vehicle at this time.
We enjoyed meeting this couple as they began their newly-retired journey. Conversation flowed easily and we wished we had even more time to visit with these folks. They’re welcome back anytime because we hardly even knew they were here!
