Retired after serving 42 years in public safety. My wife and I have been camping all of our life and started RVing in the early 70s. We own acreage and love to tinker on the property, small gardens and landscaping. Love to meet other RVers and exchange stories and experiences.
Was a an auto mechanic for a number of years, experienced carpenter and woodworker.
Yes, we have 2 King Charles Spaniels, they travel with us all the time. Both are great around people, little timid at first around new people and places.
Topeka, Kansas is where we call home, but have also lived in California and Pennsylvania.
40 foot Coachman Class A diesel pusher motor-home with 2 slides, 12'-4" tall at the highest point. We tow a Honda CRV (small SUV).
Our host could not have been more friendly and accommodating. A beautiful flat, grassy lawn with great trees. What a good night’s sleep, along with good conversation. Thanks!
A nice stop easy to navigate. We stayed in a 41 foot motorhome towing a F150 and we had no problem finding the place or parking. The host came out to greet us and help us park. We chatted briefly and he appears to be a very nice and helpful. We had access to power and water. The weather was absolutely horrible but the stay was very nice.
Host was terrific, helped me get situated at the site. Very good location, looking forward to staying again.
Had a really nice stay and visit at Blue Acres. Easy access in and out, all the amenities were right there. Nice evening conversation. Felt like our home camp. Thanks again Blue Acres!!!
What a delightful place! It was an honor to stay at this location as our very first Boondockers guest experience. The host couldn't have been more pleasant or helpful and the electrical hookup was much appreciated as allowed is to be very comfortable without having to run the generator. Would highly recommend this stopping spot and would love to host them in return if they ever come out our way. Please enjoy the small token of appreciation left on the front porch and blessings to you and your family!
My hosts were terrific! Guided me in/out, made sure I got hooked up and suggested places to visit and shared a lot of stories. The shade trees were an added bonus!. I had a wonderful stay and enjoyed visiting Topeka. Thanks to all the BW hosts!!
KSkodi was a welcoming host with a spacious property in a rural setting just minutes from the local freeways. Nice and level. As a first-timer to Boondockers Welcome, we had a fantastic first impression.
if you're looking for a good night stay on level ground this is your place we enjoyed our stay and are going to request another night
This is our 2nd time staying in this quiet country home. Tom is always very nice. Gives us directions to the nearest store. Easy on off interstate.
Thanks soooo much to the hosts for an enjoyable stay. Our hosts at Blue Acres were most hospitable. We will certainly be returning in the future.
We were greeted upon arrival, helped with rig placement and answered any questions we had at the time. My friend is completely sold on Boondockers Welcome now! Thank you for a quiet and peaceful place to over night on our way to Colorado.
Very friendly and helpful, especially since we are new at this. Quiet and peaceful and a good stop. We plan to stay in the future!
So easy to drive a big RV onto the yard & hook-up to power! The host & his brother were there to greet us & get situated... then invited us to their campfire for s’mores!
07/11/20-07/14/20 Hosts are fantastic people. Helpful, engaging, willing to help with anything you need. The parking areas are easy in and out and very hard packed. Hosts will help direct you to your location. Fantastic communicators. This location is easy to find and get to. Lots of shade trees. There is a lake nearby. There are geese and bats to watch. If you need groceries (HyVee or Walmart) or hardware (Menards, Lowes and Home Depot), its an easy 10-15 minute drive. Conversations are wonderful. With the Host's OK, we would definitely stay here again. We highly recommend. Thank you for the opportunity to stay!
Had a fantastic stay. I won’t go into details, but rest assured if you need something, This host will be the most helpful host you’ve ever encountered.
Next time we are even remotely close to this host, we will reroute to include a visit!
Despite having our schedule fluidly change not once, but several times, he was kind enough too accommodate our every need. Power and water connections were not only available, but abundant. Also wifi. His gracious wife came out and talked one night. He shared the porch, adult beverages, and information about some nice state parks we visited during our stay. Would stay again with them in a second, if they'd have us.
He was very accommodating after we broke down and had to change our itinerary. We arrive late at almost 9 pm and he helped us park. Beautiful site. We couldn't visit as we are doubling days to get back on track. We will visit more on the return drive.
This was our second stay. Big rig friendly and the host could not be nicer. We will always continue staying here when in the area.
The perfect spot and the perfect hosts! Beautiful shaded spot with 50 amp and if you need it water!! Very nice roads and easy in and out. It was close to Topeka that we stayed an extra day to take advantage of the great biking trails.
Wonderful time and hope to stay on the way back home!!! ; )
Great host, Great host location, Close to most major hwy's in the area. Easy in /out. Big rig friendly. Met him upon our arrival, Offered the 50 amp electric service to us, directed us to the circle in which we did not have to unhook our toad, Offered water but we were fine and declined. Nice walk with the pups down to the Lake, Large property to let them stretch legs as well. Highly recommend this boondocking spot and we are sure we will return next time in the area!
Even with the Covid-19 pandemic, KSkodi let me stay on his property. Super nice guy and super beautiful place. He even went out of his way to help me with a anti-sway bracket. Thank you!
KSkodi put the “Hospitality” in Midwest Hospitality. Our host came out to guide us in on our arrival and offered great ideas on the local attractions while we set up. We were grateful to have water and power at our site. It was level, well packed and the trees offered awesome shade. Note: water pressure in the front site is high so be sure to regulate.
Our hosts were a wonderful and warm couple with terrific RV experience. An unforeseen medical emergency forced us into the hospital while staying at Blue Acres. . KSkodi could not have been more accommodating and even visited several times during our hospital stay. While ours was a unique situation, everything about KSlkodi’s hospitality indicates to me that anyone can expect this level of human kindness from them. Simply an incredible couple.
When we are cleared for travel, we plan to start back up where we left off; with KSkodi and their fantastic Blue Acres / Boondockers Welcome location.
This was my first stay with Boondockers Welcome and it was awesome. Tom was a great host and greeted my on my arrival. He gave me a tour of the property and we talked for a little while. After that he gave me the seclusion I needed to get some work done from my rig. Also, nice large open area for dogs to run as well as a fenced in area in the back if you want to use that too. He also provides a fire ring in the back of the house, but it was a bit too cold for me to use this time. Will be back on my next time through the area.
Enjoyed our stay. Large level area with water and electric. Host was very accommodating. Great place to stay if you want to see the Wizard of Oz Museum or the Evil Knievel Museum. Looking forward to more great adventures.
We added a day to our stay so we had time for the Oz museum. Tom was very accommodating.
Nice location, nice people, nice site. We really enjoyed visiting with Tom and Bobbie. They have a very nice property and we appreciated having water and electric available. The Oz museum is about 40 minutes away and is a must see in my opinion. The Oz winery was fun too.
Thanks Kskodi, I hope you get on the road soon!
Tom and Bobbi were wonderful hosts! We spent most of our time at Blue Acres with Tom. This was our first Boondockers Welcome stay. We have a 5 and almost 3 year old and he was awesome with them. He went above and beyond and even got water toys out for them to play with. We appreciated being able to use his 50 amp hookups since it was in the 90s and he even offered us water, even though we didn't need it. Their property is absolutely beautiful! Our family enjoyed their backyard and lake view. It was a short 20 minute drive into downtown Topeka, so all in all, it was a perfect stop. We would definitely stay there again and wish the Garcias the best on their future adventures!
This is my second time staying here and Dagny (my Beagle) and I both love it!
KSkodi is very friendly and helpful and makes for a wonderful host!
I needed a place to stay while driving back east and this was a fantastic location and KSkodi was an excellent host! The place is spacious & quiet and KSkodi was very accommodating in making sure I was setup and had everything I need.
I would definitely recommend this as a good place to stay!
What a nice amiable and helpful host. He helped us to set up and also provided me with some wooden blocks to add to my small collection :-) ended up staying two nights instead of one, zero hassle. Thanks KSkodi
