My wife and I grew up N of Sacramento in Yuba City went to Cal-Poly SLO, raised 3 children, we have moved way too many times, living in multiple states, I’m a Vietnam vet who volunteers time at the local VA hospital, am retired and we have been in Sparks since 2017. One daughter is a full time RV’er (with a 32’ Diesel pusher) and stays with us multiple times a year, which sparked our interest in RV living. We updated the RV access on our 1/4 acre, residential neighborhood property, to include full 50A hookups (water, sewer), to encourage longer visits from our RV’ing daughter. My wife has her own business teaching children with dyslexia and is still working (cuz she loves what she does). I’m retired and enjoy fixing our home and property, riding my motorcycle, we both enjoy meeting new people, & learning new things.
I like riding motorcycles, gardening, woodworking and doing general house and yard maintenance. I have a workshop with a place for some light maintenance and repairs if needed (not engine type repairs please).
Currently our son and girlfriend live with us, they have two dogs which are contained. One is a chihuahua the other is a year old Great Pyrenees (huge, but very gentle and friendly). We also have two cats who disappear whenever the dogs are in view, otherwise they are friendly and curious. Your pets are welcome, as long as you keep control of them (so they don’t tear things up, or create a disturbance to our very nice and understanding neighbors). Please do your own poop patrol.
We don’t currently own an RV, but look forward to exploring the RV options down the road.
We live in Sparks Nevada (the Spanish Springs area, 20 mi south of Pyramid Lake). It’s about 45 minutes to Lake Tahoe from here, roads are all good although they can get congested during rush hours.
If it wasn't enough that this site is just beautiful and peaceful, they also have full hookups! I feel like I should have to pay to stay here, but its free. :) Bob's Babbling Brook is truly an oasis in the desert. The hosts just couldn't be any nicer. Very pleasant experience!!! Just a suggestion - Bob's wife loves red wine.
