We are new to the pleasures of traveling with a few comforts readily at hand. Most of our overnights are in state and national parks, but it would be nice to have alternatives to boring, expensive and inconvenient interstate motels to fill in gaps and stretch the budget.
Does thoroughly enjoying a simple, low-tech version of van-based RVing count as a skill? Aside from that, the male member of our party has solid computer hardware skills and general trouble shooting ability.
So far, we have not actually boondocked in an unofficial site, although we've napped in plenty of parking lots.
Our "rig" is an older, flat topped custom van. It contains no actual systems, but is a surprisingly comfortable rolling home.
