How Lucky Can You Get!

That's how I felt immediately upon meeting Jerry and Iris on my trip to pick up our Scamp travel trailer in Minnesota back in September. Yes, it's taken me this long to write a recommendation and I humbly apologize to Jerry and Iris for this delay. It's partly due to personal issues but mostly because I could not come up with anything that I felt did them justice in describing what wonderful hosts and special individuals they are! I will simply say that they are two of the friendliest, most hospitable, super-accommodating, and socially fun people I have ever met in my life. Folks, you had to be there....and I was!!!

I had driven 500 plus miles from Kentucky with my dog, Stella, the day we arrived at Jerry's and Iris' home. Thinking I would meet J & R and then have a leisurely evening reading and keeping Stella from disrupting the numerous squirrel families and other assorted critters of the night. That was not to be the case. I am not going to detail the evening of socializing they provided, mostly because they would soon become the most popular Boondocker destination in the organization and have to go into seclusion just so they could have a normal life again!! Suffice to say I had arrived on the date of the monthly gathering of their lifelong friends at the group's favorite "public house" in downtown Madison, WI....... and their friends were just like them! Fellow BDers, I had one of the most enjoyable evenings I have had in memory! But I won't ever forget this one.

On my return trip I was treated in the same "at home" fashion, just not quite the same degree of socializing.

I realize the timing of my visit was fortuitous for me. Fate was my friend on that trip, but there is no doubt that Jerry and Iris are unique individuals that love life, love people, and love to laugh and have fun with anyone who happens to cross their paths. It was my honor and privilege to spend two unforgettable September evenings with two unforgettable people.

Home indeed!

Home indeed is how Jerry & Iris made us feel. A rig no larger than 30/32 ft should fit and would be most welcome, I am sure. Very nice folks, and we look forward to their visit to us next year.
