We are a couple with two older teens. We enjoy bicycling, gardening, and relaxing on our rural property, where we have lived for the past 20 years. Our professions are Winery Vineyard Manager and Geriatric Social Worker.
Familiar with many local wineries and good knowledge of the Fingerlakes area, including road bicycling insights.
We have a chocolate lab and a Jack Russell mix, plus two indoor/outdoor cats.
Locke, NY - equal distance between Ithaca, Auburn and Cortland, a few miles to either Cayuga or Owasco lakes. We are located on a large hill with a great view, but also with lots of wind, which can limit the use of an awning.
It was a pleasure to host our 5th BW guests, Whataview! Inclement weather gave us an opportunity to spend time learning about each other’s journeys! They were great guests, respectful and conscientious and it was so much fun to enjoy a socially distant lobster 🦞 feast while enjoying the lovely wine they brought from the local winery where one of them is Vineyard manager. Their 2 mature dogs are very well behaved and got along nicely with Skippy. All in all it was another great BW experience. I look forward to moseying out their way someday and needless to say, they are welcome back here anytime!
I enjoyed chatting with Whataview and getting to meet their 2 well-behaved dogs. They had let me know of their travel plans and kept me apprised of their ETA. They only stayed for a brief overnight, but I hope someday they’ll be able to return and spend more time. They’re welcome back anytime.
Dave and Brenda are kind, accommodating hosts, and the location is quiet and picturesque. Thanks for an easy and peaceful stay!
Whataview were the most wonderful hosts we have stayed with yet! Beautiful property and such accommodating hosts--we really enjoyed chatting with and getting to know the whole family. The farm was absolutely gorgeous, and very easy to park our trailer--no backing up required. Just a 30 min drive to Ithaca, it was easy to get downtown and explore the area, including beautiful gorge hiking. The hosts gave us great recommendations for things to do/see in the area as well. We had to repair a part of our camper while on site, and the hosts were more than willing to assist us. We can't say enough wonderful things about this site and these hosts! We absolutely would love to return one day.
