Ross is self employed on a horse farm, looking to travel at every opportunity. He enjoys the thrill of finding the perfect boondocking site and telling others about it. I have found lots of nice sites over the years of traveling.
Self made cook, farmer. Basic mechanical skills.
Barney a Britney Spaniel, is my traveling companion

Highly recommend Twinholm and his sidekick Barney, who was a very well behaved canine. Twinholm is very friendly and we enjoyed sitting and chatting around a campfire. We welcome him back in the future.
Always glad to have Ross and Barney. If they ask, you will be glad you let them drop in. No muss no fuss. Just a nice guy with a really nice dog. Safe travels. Come back anytime.
Twinholm was a great guest. Only stayed one night, but he was fun to have visit. He has a well behaved dog, which you will love right from the start.
Very pleased to host Twinholm & a very well behaved dog back in Sept. Sorry for very late rec'tion but it was great to have you & thanx for the delicious honey. Come back anytime
Ross and his dog Barney stayed one night. Enjoyed hearing about their travels & adventures.
Barney is very well trained and we absolutely recommend Ross and Barney!
So glad we got to meet them!

It was a great pleasure to meet Twinholm and his pet Barney. Lots of stories around the campfire. Great company is welcome back anytime
Your visit Sure was good and interesting, and thank-you for your appreciation of what we can offer now, it was a great motivation for us to keep working in making our place more welcoming and enjoyable to our guest. You have openned our eyes. And Barney is a good and well disciplined dog, prooven!
This recommendation is long overdue and I do apologize to Twinholm
He and his dog are the most perfect guests you can wish for. They are always welcome and as a matter of fact have been here 2 times
Happy new year
Thanks very much for allowing us to park our trailer at your place. Ideal spot for boondocking. Sorry we missed you before we left.Hope to see you next summer. Linda and Nelson
We loved staying at this hosts location. It was a peaceful spot overlooking a field. We enjoyed all the time we got to spend chatting with our hosts around the campfire, and getting to see their rig and set up. We enjoyed fresh eggs and honey too! Fascinating history of the property, and we hope to visit again next time we are in the area.
My stay was short, but could not have been nicer. It's a great location - a quiet and peaceful oasis close to Toronto - and Ross, Sylvia and Barney made me feel right at home. I hope to be able to get back for a longer stay soon!
Super nice guy. Hooked me up with fresh eggs and tomatoes when I left. Sat up late one night and solved the worlds problems (well, some of them anyways.) Quiet and easy to get in and out. Hi to Sylvia!
For our first experience as boondockers, it couldn't have been better. From the first moments, we felt as if we were at an old friend farm or in the family.
Lots of space and quiet, electricity and good wi-fi.
Thanks so much to our hosts for their kindness.
And more thanks for the lifts to the train station.
We hope we could see you again somewhere... for having dinner and many other stories to share.
first time boondocking and could not have gotten better reception. Great man to talk to and knowlogable about travelling. Gave us events to visit and do while in the area.
Hoping to be back next year.
My family of six stayed with Ross and Barney after a very stressful day of driving. The peaceful farm was a welcoming change from the hustle and bustle of being on the road. I can not begin to describe the welcomed feeling that we received during our short stay. My husband and I joined Ross on his beautiful wrap around porch for an evening of chatting before turning in for the night. My daughter was overjoyed at the opportunity to meet Dawn - the horse, share some loving with Barney - Ross' dog, and watch chickens play in the yard.
Our parking spot was perfect, as it was nice and flat with great electrical hookup that powered not only a CPAP machine but also air conditioning, which was beyond appreciated. We never even had to unhook, as the area is nice and roomy - even for our 34' camper and Suburban.
We hope to return on our next trip through the area - only with a little extra time to enjoy. We all left wishing that we had just a bit more time to chat and enjoy the quaint farm life and cozy porch!
Thanks again Ross!
We really enjoyed our stay at Ross's farm and enjoyed visiting and socializing around the campfire. Very welcoming, great location so close to the city, yet so quiet and relaxing on the farm.
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful farm! Great location close to the train into Toronto. Lots to explore in the area. Ross could not have been a more hospitable host. We were lucky to share a lovely evening around the campfire with Ross and another Boondocking couple.
Sitting on this beautiful, well manicured acreage, it's hard to believe you're so close to downtown Toronto.
We had a very nice evening visiting on the deck. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay!
Thank you so much. We enjoyed the class of vine and chatting with you. I will also like tu thank you for the cute birthday present you gave me the next morning.
Really appreciated the opportunity to go for a hike on the farm, had a nice visit on the porch. Looking forward to visiting again another day.
Thank you so much for hosting us last weekend. We enjoyed meeting you both and we're grateful for a beautiful, quiet place to stay. Hopefully we an welcome you for a visit.
Contacted Twinholm at last minute because we wanted to reach and visit the Niagara region. Quick reply and very good communication.
Easy to find location in a beautiful environment.
We had plenty of interesting chats with them while sitting in their backyard enjoying a glass (or few) of wine in front of a campfire.
Although we had planned to stay 2-3 nights and then move to the Niagara region itself, we finally stayed 7-8 days and traveled back and forth to Niagara. We then moved on to the Windsor region, but stopped for one more night on our way back home.
I believe we have made new friends and would be happy to visit them once more or host them if requested.
We highly recommend to stay at Twinholm.
Thank you so much once more ! ! !
We stayed in at Twinholm Sept 2017. Great host with lots of recommendations for traveling to Toronto and Niagara Falls. Stayed 3 nights while visiting attractions. Large area, no problem turning around our 60ft truck and trailer.
Friendly host providing relaxing atmosphere and evening campfires.
Thanks for your hospitality.
Had a wonderful time staying 3 nights (Sept.9-11) at this location. Host was friendly and most generous supplying us with helpful information on the area. Enjoyed the campfire and conversations! We highly recommend staying at this safe and very peaceful place.
We said at Twinholm for 2 nights, Sept 9-11 with 2 of our friends in their own rigs. Our host was great, he gave us so much information and made us feel completely welcome. After a long day trip to Niagara Falls it was so nice to feel like you were coming home. We were invited to campfires and enjoyed some good conversation over a glass of wine. Thank you so much, this was our first Boondockers Welcome experience and you made us feel safe and comfortable.
Had a wonderful time staying here!
Ross was even kind enough to share a beer while we chatted on the porch once the kids were in bed.
We had a great stay with them... twice! Our two daughters were (and we were also) so amazed with their paradisiac setting that we came back a week later, on our return!
Thank you so much for your hospitality and sharing your little corner of paradise!
Enjoyed meeting Twinholm on the very comfortable side porch. Our dogs were in heaven with so much room and Barney. Fun looking over the creative wich-a-ma-doodles that you all created. Will return for sure. Thanks to all of you. Gladys and Mary Ann
We stay there 2 nights, the farm is near Toronto, calm and not noisy, at 10 minutes of a station. It's a perfect place to go if you want to visit Toronto. Twinholm is a very great person, and his wife too.
Thank you so much!
We recommande this nice boondocking!
A lovely stay with the most accommodating people, we were welcomed in to hear of adventures past and met the handsome Barney the Brittany Spaniel who was very generous with cuddles.
The location is very well situated for those that want to venture into Toronto for the day with the Go train station a 10 min drive away.
Thank you for having us, and if we pass through your way again we will definitely stop by :) Nat and Alex.
When my travel plans quickly changed just before the Labor Day weekend, when most campgrounds are full, Twinholm came to the rescue with a spot I could set up camp. We hit is off and I enjoyed the farm environment. I would consider returning the next time I am in the area.
We appreciated the welcome at Twinholm Farm, and the extra effort to make us feel welcome. While we did not stay overnight, our Rig enjoyed 4 nights at the Farm, while we spent time with friends in Toronto. The offer of drives to and from the GoTrain made this very convenient. We only wish we had more time to spend a night to really enjoy the fantastic wrap-around patio and wonderful welcome with our host. Highly recommended, and we hope to welcome you on the West Coast some time soon!
This was my first ever boondockers welcome experience. It was fantastic! I told our hosts that I should just stop using this site because anything after would likely be a disappointment.
I have a larger sized trailer, but was welcomed to park next to one of the large barn/outbuildings. There was a 30amp hookup which was just what i needed.
I very much enjoyed my time spent swapping stories and enjoying wine on the farmers porch with a view of the fireflies and a show of candle lights. My dog Briggs made friends with Barney the sentinel Spaniel.
Lovely people, and I only hope they enjoyed my company as much as i did theirs.
P.S. If you are coming from the States... bring Jimmy Dean sausage for Ross!!!
This idyllic 'Century Farm' is not more than 4 miles from our previous home in Oakville. For years we drove by this property and always admired its charm and appeal and the beautiful white horses grazing in the pastures. For our very 1st Boondockers Welcome experience we couldn't have chosen a more perfect spot! We came for 2 nights and returned 1 week later for another 2 nights!
The host, is gracious, generous and welcoming. We were invited to relax on the beautiful wrap around porch, share the fire pit(s), gaze at the full moon and generally, just make ourselves at home. The property is spacious and there was ample room for our 'big rig' to maneuver the drive and park.
The big bonus is 'location, location, location'. Just minutes from the highways (and public transit) to Niagara Falls to the west and Toronto to the east. Plenty of shopping and restaurants are also close by.
Thank-you Twinholm for a great experience. It was "BEEYOND" our expectations.
Twinholm was very welcoming and accommodating. He offered Woodstove Pizza the evening I came along with a glass of wine and hours of great conversation. We even had a campfire. His farm hosts horses and very beautiful and quiet. I was able to plug in. Highly recommend!
we come from Italy and we enjoyed so much our time with Ross and Sylvia!
For us it was like living in a movie, huge place, lot of nature, a good chat around a bonfire and the best hospitality!
we wish we could see you again!
Viola and family
Ross & Sylvia were rally nice to us. They even gave us some fresh corn from their garden which we thoroughly enjoyed. WE appreciate the stay at their place for two nights. They advised us to take the GO Train to Toronto and that really was a wise decision because of the traffic and the road construction.
Thanks again and we hope to see you in Alabama at our place next spring.
Mike & Patricia Chiles
The missus and I stayed with Twinholm on his marvellously tranquil farm with very short notice and he was more than obliging, kind and patient with us newbies. Tons of space, firm footing under tires. He even waited up for us to return from dinner out and invited us to join him at his campfire where we talked about neat places we'd all been, what we thought of boondocking etc. over wine and beer.
There wasn't a sound all night and we slept like the dead. Thanks Twinholm. If this first experience is any indication of what the rest of the Boondocking community is like then we're thrilled to be new members!
