Retired after more than 40 years in airline management and untold miles and hours in the air, we are enjoying the relaxed pace of trekking the road, renewing old friendships, discovering new and re-warming family ties. While we appreciate our Colorado home and its unobstructed views of the Rocky Mountains - from Pikes Peak to Mt. Evans to Longs Peak -we are enjoying the anticipation of RoadTrekking just over that next ridge will be crystal clear trout streams, sparkling lakes, peaceful forests, thundering waterfalls, red rock canyons, green meadows, a patchwork of farms, a campfire, a fun & relaxing night with new friends and who knows what the next few miles will yield.
Fishing is my passion & I love fly fishing & tying flies, kayaking, photography and just about anything outdoors. Recently we have enjoyed RV travel and camping throughout Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, New Mexico, Idaho, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Utah and Arizona. We recently checked off a high item on our bucket-list with an awesome road trip in our RoadTrek motorhome during June/July 2011; our trip through Alberta, British Columbia, The Yukon and Alaska exceeded all expectations, especially Denali National Park and visiting friends on the Kenai.
Life has been good to us ... In November we will celebrate our 55th anniversary - 3 sons & one daughter and 7 terrific grandkids. A rewarding career from pilot to senior management assignments with the airlines - early on with Golden West in Los Angeles then to Continental in Houston and on to Midwest in Milwaukee and now retired from Frontier Airlines here in Denver ...even partnered up to start our own 'HeartLand Airlines' in Dayton, an ill-timed start up venture- but an exciting experience. I cannot remember a day through it all when I did not want to go to work. It's been a fun run and I admittedly miss the daily interaction with valued colleagues.
