My motto is "Attitude is so important!"

I aspire to “Be the Change I Want to See in the World.” and prefer to spend money on experiences rather than things. I hope to one day be able to say that I have traveled around the world.

My career background has been in early childhood education. I owned and operated a preschool for over 20 years, taught after school art and music programs and have since written and self-published several books ranging from children’s storybooks to caring for the elderly.

Now retired, (figuratively speaking), I am just starting to put my travel hat on. In 2018 I ventured to 8 different countries including Spain, Paris France, London England, Belgium, Italy, Greece, Egypt and Croatia, mostly staying with host families. So far in 2019 I've traveled to South Korea and Japan.

In March of 2019, I purchased a 22' Class B+ RV, which I am currently traveling in around the USA. Although my husband and I plan to do some traveling together, most of the time I will be traveling solo to all the places I would like to visit.

When traveling solo, I prefer to stay at host family sites because for me it’s the people that I have the good fortune of meeting along the way that interest me the most.

Skills & Expertise to Share

I am a native English speaker with a TEFL certificate to teach english
I may be available for some babysitting during my stay
I can teach you the steps to self-publishing a Book
I also love to paint, and often have my acrylic paints with me.

I am a very easy going responsible woman. I am also self-sufficient, reliable, and trustworthy. I respectfully adapt well to different situations. I have always been very family oriented and would be open to watching your children, of any age, during my stay.

I do not drink alcohol or smoke.

I love teaching about what I know and what I am passionate about. Most recently I have become passionate about inspiring people to write down and publish their own stories in a book. Consider this: Even if there are a thousand books on the shelf about the same subject, I believe that everyone’s voice matters and no two books will ever be written in exactly the same way. So, let me help you - Go for it!

For me, it's not about the location, it's about the people I meet at each place I am met with a warm welcome.

Experienced traveler

Nice, experienced traveler who knows what works for her. Sweet lady who I'm sure I would have enjoyed talking with more if timing were different.

Great guests!

Wonderful traveler and guest. Thoughtful about being on the site, happily shared information she'd gathered on the public transport options she discovered to get to SF so we can share those with other guests. Welcome to our home anytime in the future!
