Steve and I are new at this. He is a professional Umpire, working mostly in Washington, Oregon, Arizona and Nevada. Me (Katy)
will be doing Camp Working or other jobs along the way. We love to travel and love dogs, even though we don't currently have a travel companion. We are looking forward to meeting new friends and making awesome memories.
See ya soon!
Update: spent the last few months 80 miles north of Vancouver, Wa. We are taking a break from being stationary and hope to spend some time with family and friends in Vancouver for 2 to 3 weeks before we head south to the Phoenix area. Would like to explore our boondockers welcome in the Vancouver, Camas, Gresham, Portland area.
I have been working in a Thousand Trails Camp store and absolutely love it. Glad to be retired and out of the rat race. But i would easily trade 5 days a week for a 3 day a week job. Steve still works like a dog but he loves his work.
Haven't boondocked with Boondockers Welcome yet. Looking forward to meeting everyone. The only boondocking we have done is overnight at Wal-Mart or truckstops. Certainly not rewarding if you want a few days to get to know the area.
Steve was born in England but raised in Chicago. He was a military brat. Kathy was born in Kansas but has lived in several states from Florida to Alaska. Not a military brat! We are contemplating following the base ball umpire opportunities south to Mesa, AZ. Starting with stops in Vancouver, WA the end of July...... We will give up permanent status for a few months....and become wanderers.
