Don and I live 2 miles from downtown and the beach on Grand Traverse Bay. We are also within walking distance to public transportation. We are both retired and very active in our local theater.
We have a 50 pound Portuguese Water Dog who loves people and loves to announce their arrival. Our yard has an underground fence so she is free to roam. Gets along fine with other dogs because she truly believes she isn't one.
Traverse City, MI
1992 Roadtrek Class B Camper
Great guest. Roadtreks fit anywhere!
Very pleasant guest, would highly reccommend to stay anywhere.
Enjoyed a nice chat with "debOwman". Nice to talk about Roadtreks with fellow owners. Wish we were headed off on an adventure too! Nice folks and pleasant guests.
Felt a kinship with these guys. Great parking spot and walking area for the dog. Highly recommended.
The Host are super friendly and amazing. Made us feel right at home. RV location is easy to level and plenty of space (more than we needed for our small camper). Locations is great for exploring Traverse and and Sleeping Bear Dunes NP. If you are a light sleeper it might be a good idea to bring ear plugs as the road is not heavily trafficked, but the vehicles with poor exhaust s are hard to miss while sleeping. Would love to stay here again
Only spent one night while passing through, but great hosts in a great location with lots of great stuff nearby! Traffic noise didn’t bother me at all.
We can not tell you how happy and grateful we are to have stayed with our wonderful hosts. They are kind, generous, and down to earth! Their yard is just lovely and sooo convenient to Traverse City! As it’s almost in town you can expect some road noise but it slows way down in the evening and the tall fence affords lots of privacy. Loved our stay!
Our spot and location were both great, and our hosts couldn’t have been more gracious. We hope to stay again and to get to know them better.
Thanks for making me feel welcome. A fun property at the edge of wonderful Traverse City. Enjoyed meeting your sweet elderly dog Brittany . A creative garden and a bit of road noise that did not keep me awake. Good luck with your pottery!
Deb & Don were great hosts. As we were in a rented 30ft RV & it was a busy holiday weekend, Deb offered to drive us around town to show us around. Very nice couple.
Owners very accommodating and provided electric. Location convenient to downtown Traverse City. As others have said here, there’s traffic, but the yard is treed, as well as fenced on the road side. Traffic quiets down at night. I sat in the yard one evening and saw a beautiful woodpecker eating berries from the tree next to my van. I tried to get a closeup with my good camera, but he was too quick for me! Mourning Doves around, too. I would stay there again. Thank you, Don and Deb!
We stayed here one night and had a great time. The host was amazing, friendly and very helpful! The house is a bike ride away from downtown Traverse City. Would definitely stay there again!
This place is near a park. If you take the Garfield trail, you'll be at the village shopping with a bike in 15 minutes. From there, it's another 15 minutes with your bike to downtown and the warehouse/riverside.
The spot itself has shade and there's a table and lawnchair. The hookup is a 15 amp extension cord. Great for those who want to keep the battery topped up and use some lights at night.
You'll be next to the road (behind a fence), so you'll hear some traffic.
We had a nice stay and there are some nice places you can visit nearby.
Deb, Don & Brittany (cutest pup!) were our first boon docking experience. They exceeded all of our expectations! Deb was so welcoming and helpful. She lended us slabs of wood to unhitch, helped us unhitch and gave great recommendations for the area. Traverse city was amazing! We got downtown by bike in 15 minutes using the small trail across from Deb & Don’s. We’d definitely go back again someday!
Great hosts here. They helped us get situated, provided power and water, and good recommendations on what to see and do in the area. We'll stay again next time we're in the area.
Perfect spot for the night, host very accommodating and friendly. Wish we could have stayed longer, hope to cross paths again !
Deb and Don were very friendly and offered electricity, water and internet but we only used electricity. They have a very nice spot on the west side of Traverse City and it is great location for seeing lots of beautiful sights in Northern Michigan. Traverse City itself is a worthwhile destination but they are also close to Mission Peninsula (beautiful vineyards and a restored lighthouse at the end) and Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore.
Deb0wman and her pup Brittany were very welcoming. Traverse city was a super cute town, and she was a short drive away. Spent most of our time walking around town and sampling the local faire!
We had a great time staying with Deb at their house. Super accomodating and funny! Highly recommend staying here if you have the chance. Just down the road from Moomers ice cream, only 30 minutes from sleeping bear dunes and close to downtown. Very central location.
We have a 35ft fifth wheel toyhauler and it was a little tight turning around in the driveway to back-into the spot, but once in, we had plenty of room in the yard to run around.
We definitely recommend this spot and will be back!
We had a great time! Deb & Don were Very Pleasant and thoughtful! Gave us great directions there and then back out again.
Great hiking trails within walking distance and close to stores. Great time of year to visit Traverse City.
we enjoyed our two nights here. This area is spectacular, from the pretty views to small shops and farmers markets, we loved the area. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating and such a great location!
Host is very nice and the location is great for all the wonderful things to see and do in the area.
Perfect place to explore the M22 coast. Deb and Don made us feel right at home. We look forward to returning to the area.
With walking paths, botanical gardens, shops and grocery store plus downtown all within short walking distance this “Little Acre” is a great spot for visiting Traverse City. Hosts were very helpful getting us parked in a relatively tight spot for our 27’ trailer + truck and friendly. We were out and about nearly all day and evening during our stay - quiet in the evening and early morning.
Our only regret we had on our visit to Deb &Don's little acre is that we only had one night to stay. Traverse city is a beautiful town and our host helped us see what we could in that short time. After we got our bikes unloaded Don gave us tips on getting to downtown the scenic way and filled us in on where to get the best cherry pies in all of Michigan. Deb and Don exchanged a few traveling adventure stories with us and made us feel very welcome on our short stay. Hope to be back for a longer stay to see more of a beautiful city. Thank you Don and Deb.
Wonderful stay for one night. Hosts were so accommodating. Parking spot will require backing in. We were there on the night of a huge rainstorm so it can get a bit muddy.
No problem at all if it’s dry. Hosts provided 15 amp electric and water.
Would definitely come again.
Wonderful, friendly and helpful hosts! We highly recommend them and we would definitely come back again!
Deb greeted us upon arrival at their home. The site worked very well for us with our small motor home. They were very generous and helpful with water and electric hook up. Don worked to make sure we had wifi as well. Friendly conversations with both about boon docking and RV travel as well as bicycling in the area.
Close to Everything in Traverse City
Upon arrival Deb greeted us, we met Britney, then Deb showed us where to set up and plug into their electric, water and connect to the WI-FI. The spot is grassy, and has plenty of room to put out an awning and chairs, also to park your tow vehicle close. There is a lot of vehicle traffic but as it gets on into the evening it slows down. The location is close to downtown but out just enough, perfect. There is some nice wooded walking trails close by. Spoke with both Deb and Don to get their pick of local restaurants and shared some traveling stories. Enjoyed our time there and would stay again.
Thanks, Deb and Don
This was only our second boondockers welcome experience and it couldn't have been better!! We were welcomed upon arrival. Communication was clear and quick throughout the process. Location is easy to find with warm & friendly, VERY helpful gracious hosts! They have a very sweet pooch we enjoyed being able to pet too! I can't say enough about their kindness! The turn in to this location can be a little tedious due to traffic but just take your time and swing WIDE. Very private beautiful setting. Mostly level where you park with trees surrounding you, grass out your door. :) There is traffic noise (it does slow down during the night) which didn't bother us. Location is convenient for sight seeing all over this area! Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. We would love to stay here again. Thank you so much Deb & Don, we thoroughly enjoyed your LIttle Acre!!
Friendly host and great location. It is close to town, but close to woods and trails also. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend it.
Very accommodating hosts who were nice enough to take me in a day early. Great plot of land right out of town w a hammock! Thanks:)
What a nice spot. Shade and great parking. Greeted as we arrived by host and dog, Very friendly. Recomend this spot .
Great couple and location to stay. We would go back anytime! They provided us with tourist information on the Traverse City area which came in vert handy.
Deb and Don were terrific hosts. The location was lovely and convenient to downtown Traverse City. They went out of their way to make us feel welcomed.
