I am a regular RV'er and owner of a Winnebago View. Our setting is not the most scenic but we are only about 5 miles off I 86 and 20 minutes south of Watkins Glen. We are in a valley away from most traffic with plenty of deer, fox and other critters to entertain. Our hobbies include boating, kayaking, car restoration and dog rescue.
I have acquired and eclectic set of hobbies over the years and would be happy to talk about anything really. I'm an engineer working in manufacturing. My husband restores and races cars. I have done lots of running and triathlons. At home I have done scrapbooking, quilting, music and flower gardening. I have been heavily involved with dog rescue.
We have 5 shelties and may have foster dogs. Our large fenced yard is not far from the parking spot and can we used like a dog park to exercise dogs during a visit. If we know ahead, we can keep the home dogs in a separate area. When I travel, they are often with me, but not always...or sometimes i pick one or two for a particular trip.
New to boondocking...will update this profile as I get better at it.
We live in Horseheads NY.
2019 Winnebago View possibly towing light kayak trailer. Trailer can be removed and positioned by hand if necessary.
I'm sorry I didn't get to this reference sooner because my memory fails me. 😔 I don't recall being able to visit with these folks but I imagine with this gentleman and my husband being "car guys" they must have had good conversation. Please stay again if you are in The Dells area!
We were sorry we couldn’t put her back farther from the road for a quieter evening, but her and her pups were great guests. Arrived as planned. Communicated clearly along the way. Cleaned up as needed. Left early to get to an appointment. Welcome back any time.
We overnighted on the first night of our trip from Vermont to Oregon in the parking area and felt quite safe. Road noise was minimal. We woke up to a beautiful sunrise with some loach views. Host provided clear directions and responded quickly to messages. We did not get to meet, but during Covid, that might be good for all of us.
She was the perfect host! Super communicative and generous with the space. Her little barn area was a great place for quiet rest and beautiful mornings. Thanks for making our first BDW stay so lovely.
Awesome hospitality!
Our host were very friendly and the space was good for our 30’ and small tow.
Great proximity to hiking and motorcycle riding around the Finger Lakes.
Nice time at the fire pit also.
Gracious hosts and friendly people. Helped us get settled and park in the correct spot for the night. Another example of a great stay during our USA trip. Thanks again to our hosts!
Great location for day trips to local waterfalls. Little tight for 30ft toy hauler. But made it work.
Such a beautiful area with lots of deer to watch. Host was extremely friendly and even let us play ball with our Dog in her yard! Before we left, we were gifted the most DELICIOUS strawberry-rhubarb jam!!
Thank you So Much
This lady was so nice to us. Host even gave us a box of strawberries they had just purchased! We can not say enough about this host. And the spot we were given was perfect for our 29 foot class c, we do not tow another vehicle. And that worked out great.if you like peace and quiet? This is it. I would like to thank our best again.
We give them 5 stars or even more.
This is a great stop for us on our way south! Welcoming host, tranquil setting. Thanks so much.
This was a perfect stopover on our way to nyc. Quiet and peaceful.
Host was very accommodating. We meet all her dogs which quickly became best friends with our dogs. Even had time to sit around a fire pit. We were just there for an over night but her location is great for a visit to Watkins Glen.
Note:. Entrance to the area was tricky. Maybe add a flag or sign. Bottom line was we did find it!!
