Love to travel, hear blues, jazz, bicycle, walk, and enjoy time outdoors.
We have been hosts of Boondockers since 2013 and are charter members. We have received 15 glowing reviews from people who we have had the pleasure of hosting. In addition to the 15 reviews we have received we have probably hosted an additional 15 who have not left a review. We have hosted people from France, Australia, Canada, Poland, England, and Quebec, It has truly been a pleasure to be hosts of our Boondockers friends.
Sadly we have moved to a small town into a smaller home which does not allow us to host Boondocker any longer.
We do, in the future months, plan to travel to distant destinations and hope to make additional Boondocker friends along the way!
Have rebuilt more engines than I can count. Like to do my own work on my RV

Dean was extremely friendly and helped us get a feel for the area. His family has been at this home for over 60 years! Besides greeting us and chatting a bit, we were left in good privacy. This is friendly territory for RVs and camper vans. And the location is amazing!
What can I say about Dean and his lovely wife Sue?!
They are such wonderful people; very warm and hospitable.
When our toilet suddenly broke, Dean encouraged and motivated me that I could fix it, giving me access to tools and advice on where to get parts and what to do.
With his help the toilet works perfectly; but more importantly we've made two new friends.
Hopefully we can host them in England one day.
Thanks again! :-)
We stayed with Trekken Dean for 3 nights dry camping. He was out of town but I had a delightful visit with his mother. The area is great for walking a dog and very convenient to drive into Seattle to see the sights. Des Moines is a neat little town and the three local restaurants we tried were wonderful!
I 100% recommend! I had the pleasure of spending a few days with Trekken Dean and met his wonderful family and enjoyed talking to them and are just really great people! Then on top of that the location is amazing! I hope our paths cross again. Thank you for all the hospitality
Trekken Dean agreed to let me park my rig at his place for an extended stay (was waiting on a cruise ship departure at Seattle's Pier 91). He and his wife have two driveways and a conveniently located water hose, sewer connection, and electrical outlet. There is a Dollar General Store plus several restaurants within walking distance of their place so it was super convenient to pick up anything. There's also a public library three blocks away. Very accommodating hosts! plus good advice on what to see in Seattle.
This was also a wonderful stop. They do not have a way to offer WiFi, but there is a Library and a nice, small restaurant that each had good WiFi, not very far away.
We had a nice visit with our host also.
Highly recommended.
Thank you so much Trekken Dean for the quick reply to a late notice boondocks request.
We had a wonderful stay and are so thankful for your kindness.

This is a way overrdue recommendation for Trekking Dean. We stayed at his site for 5 nights in mid-August while visiting my family in West Seattle. Plenty of room, the water and electric hook-ups were very helpful, good views, great location for exploring the area. Our hosts were gone while we were there, but Trekking Dean's delightful mother was there. She is so positive and has lead a fascinating life, we so enjoyed our visits with her.
Dean and his wife are really nice people and very interesting to talk to. We also met his mother who is a warm and friendly person. We stayed 2 nights and took the bus and then the light rail into Seattle and saw a lot of the sights. Their house has a great view of Puget Sound. All and all a great stay! Thanks so much!
Dean was a great host and although we never actually got to meet his mother was home to greet us and made us feel very welcome indeed, offering us fresh tomatoes, apples and sound advice for travelling around the Washington peninsula. Wish we could have stayed longer!
In terms of the site, Dean's driveway is conveniently located on a quiet street off the main street and we had a great view of dusk over the Puget Sound each night. Des Moines is a lovely town! There are public toilets on the waterfront not too far away and a great coffee shop 150 feet away which has wifi access 24/7 even when they are closed.
There is a bus stop two blocks away which will get you to Seattle Pike Place in just over an hour. $5 round trip. One change. Take the 150 & 156. I can't remember in what order!
Thanks so much Dean and Claris for being our first Boondocking hosts! Hope we get to see you on our way back up the coast.
Mark & Tas
Eventhough they were not home they let us stay in their driveway for 3 days! Water and electra was even set up and we had a very pleasant stay. Wifi is at the library, which is just a couple minutes walk. There is a nice playground up the street and downtown (2 minute walk) there is a beachfront with a pier, where apparently, pokemons can be found ;) (lot of people with their phones out the day we were there).
Thanks again for having us!
We have spent 2 night at Dean's place by the end of July 2016. Dean has been incredibly welcoming. He gave us all the necessary information to take the bus and light train to Seattle. He gave me valuable information about Mexico and he helped me out setting a second water pump. My family and I spent 2 amazing days there. Dean's wife is also super nice!
We couldn't have asked for nicer hosts! Dean was very responsive via phone & his lovely mother received us in and got us all set up. Nice urban setting, with views of Poverty Bay. Lots of places to eat within walking, which is great for us weary travelers! Espresso on the corner. There is a great big, awesome dog park a few miles away called Grandview Dog Park. I also walked the dog up the street into the nice neighborhood. Drawbacks might be the airplane noise occasionally overhead and the neighbors were fixing motor bikes. Didn't bother us at all. We popped the breaker, so we decided not to worry with the electric. Ran the generator after 9am, no issue. Dean gave us some great locations to check out even before we arrived. Very kind & gracious, nice spot.
Dean and Sue are very warm, friendly people, we spent a few very nice days there. Highly recommended!
