Do you know or have you hosted this user?

We travel the USA and Canada in a forty foot 2014 Itasca Meridian diesel pusher. We have been fulltime RV since 2006 and have kept a Web account of our adventures since 2005. You can learn about us by visiting RVeCafe.com. There are fourteen years of photos and stories on our Webpage. We have been boondockers since 2009 and can usually generate plenty of sun charging power with good solar weather. We are members of FMCA and lifetime members of the Escapees RV Club. Our "homebase" is in the only Escapee park in Oregon although we are rarely parked there for very long. We tow a 2016 Subaru Forester. We are "dog people" but currently have no pets. We lost our beautiful Golden Retriever in December, 2017. She was with us for 17 years. If you have pets, we'd love to greet them. I am also a weather enthusiast. I have always traveled with a weather station. If we have a good Internet source you can see my weather station here: (https://www.weatherlink.com/embeddablePage/show/dc9a666b524b4899838350e755f8ebe9/fullscreen). Looking forward to meeting you.

Skills & Expertise to Share

I have installed eight RV solar systems but still do not consider myself an expert. I do have a basic understanding of how RV solar charging systems work and we have used them for ten years.

We have also been campground hosts and Alaska tour tailgunners so we have much to talk about. We are still traveling the US and Canada so always anxious to hear of the the best places to visit.

RVeCafe's Pets

We no longer have any pets. We had a Golden Retriever for seventeen years until December, 2017. Here is Morgan's story: https://www.rvecafe.com/az2017.html#1208

We consider ourselves to be "dog people" so would be happy to greet your dog(s).

Favorite Boondocking Locations

Most of our boondocking has been in the west states where there is lots of BLM and National Forest land. We have spent most of our winter months in southwestern Arizona parked in the desert but expect to expand to south Texas and beyond. We have taken one trip into the southeast and learned that boondocking is much more difficult to find both because of fewer federal land and the heavy canopy which blocks solar.

RVeCafe's Hometown

Our "Home Base" is the only Escapee park in Oregon, Timber Valley RV Park in Sutherlin, Oregon. Our name came to the top of the waitlist in September, 2012 so we have been lease holders since then. It gives us a place to store a few items so we don't have to carry everything we own with us. I also have a small woodshop there. The Escapee parks are wonderful as a home base. We are not there very long at a time because we are still traveling most of the time.
