'Shelf Ratt' [automotive dealership/inventory control]~~ Partner 27 yr. Toyota Parts Dept. ~ Like to travel when the 'fit' hits. Short trip tent camp on occasion. More often RV in a 27' Class A. with 2 slides. [Still small enough to fit easily in Nat & State Parks.] In 2010 we took a 4 month RV trip thru CA~NV~ID~MT~WY~NB~SD~UT. Meant to camp some and boondock some ~~BUT~~ ended up RV'ing most of the way [some WAY to fancy/$$ for our tastes and pocket. We really do need to actually 'camp' and learn to boondock.
That was our 1st 'long' trip. Go out a month or 2 at a time. Still need to 'BoonDock' more.
None to write home about.
2 Small dogs. Charlie 18# terrierX Bella 10# Schau ? X both rescues about 6yrs.
Prefer 'dirt' camping than 'asphalt/cement' camping regardless of elec/water etc. Like to see trees and other natural settings. DO NOT need club houses ~ hot tubs ~ golf courses ~ etc.etc.
2007 Itasca Sunova 26P ~ Class A ~ double slide. Tow a 2003 Toyota Rav4 [remco tranny pump]. Have made a number of changes to the inside of RV trying to 'lighten' the load. LOL [came with only 853# CCC] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Also do some tent camping in/with 2006 Toyota Tundra ~ Camp in this in Yosemite and KIngsCyn ~~ Really back to basics. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Newest addition for QUICK getaways. "FourWheelCamper" Pop-up truck camper on our 2006 Toyota Tundra.
Though we had a short stay, we quickly learned that these hosts are very kind folks! They provided us with everything we needed and then some! Pulling in and out was a breeze and we slept very well in our spot. Would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
Thank you both so much!
We were travelling up from Las Vegas to San Francisco and needed somewhere to stop over to break up our journey. The place is easy to find and our hosts provided very good directions to get there. The parking area is a good size and turning around/parking in our 24 foot rig was no problem at all. Our hosts greeted us very warmly and provided us with an electrical hook up. They were extremely welcoming and we had a great chat with them, they also gave us fresh oranges from the tree in their garden. Their 2 little dogs are great and we loved playing with them. In the morning we had another great talk and they showed us details of their previous trips. The site is near a railway line but we didn't hear any trains during the night.
We had a great stay with Pam and Kate. Very generous people and great to hav a chat with. Thank you for having us.
Stayed one night with these beautiful people. Our very first boondocks stay. Nothing to see in immediate area but a big tidy fenced in back yard for our dogs to stretch their legs. Easy, close to highway, smooth flat driveway. Felt like seeing old friends again. Late evening chocolates for our pillows! Hugs when we said goodnight. Hope to stay here again!
