I travel in my work and travel in my personal life, so I never know where I may wake up. Born and raised in Louisiana but have traveled all over the US. The best part are the people I have met along the way. When I am not working I am still exploring and seeing new things. Some how I always find the time to get back to Cajun country, the place I call "home".
Quality Engineering by trade but RV technician in my spare time!
Yes- one angel I call "Marli"
Ahh but that's a secret.....

Had a great time. Beautiful night watching the snow fall sands still being able to see stars through the clouds. Love falling asleep to the sounds of the River.
We had a lovely, brief overnight stay at this location. My kids enjoyed exploring at the nearby stream. We got no cell service, so only stayed for one evening. Great location for access to Rocky Mountain National Park. The host was not available for us to meet, but communicated with us using the Boondockers website.
We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend this site, it was right off the main road going up the mountains which was super helpful to get in and out of (good for access but heard a few cars going by at night, didn’t bother us). Only thing was there wasn’t a trash spot but she let us know ahead of time and it might be a tight turn around for bigger RVs or someone towing. Other than that great experience, sat outside in the morning and watched the stream and listened to birds. Great “lil gem” ;)
We enjoyed our stay at Lil Gem. We were right next to the river and pretty quiet. The spot is close to a road but it has very little traffic so it was not bothersome.
Thanks to Charmon for her hospitality and for sharing this special place.
This was an amazing place. PERFECT. Loved staying by the rushing river and the closeness to Estes Park was great too. Easy working with host and the onsite caretaker was also cool. Hope to visit again!
My wife and I stayed at 'Lil' Gem for two nights. It is like a 'Lil' piece of heaven! Being able to hear the river day and night was pure bliss! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to stay again sometime. Charmon has a wonderfully peaceful spot. While you're there be sure to stop by the Glen Haven General Store for their cinnamon rolls. They are the best.
We will request another time. Thank you, Charmon!
I want to say thank you so much for our amazing stay! One of our favorite spots. We loved being right near the water. I hope to come back again.
Delightfully wonderful. The (quasi) host camper was wonderful. A lot of insight to the area and pointers to make our visit. Highly recommend this place, thanks maybe see you again someday.
Beautiful spot to enjoy the wonders of nature! No cell service, pure peace. ♡
Excellent communication with the owner. So glad they are willing to share this beautiful lil gem of paradise!!
This was our first time boondocking. This truely is a "lil gem". Our first night, it was WINDY. But the rest of our stay was perfect!
We did not get to meet Charmon, but the RV site was absolutely wonderful!! We will be back! Mary
This was a great little spot. Thank you for letting us stay here. We stayed a few days to explore Estes. Just FYI in case it matters, there was no cell service for about 10-15 miles until you get into Estes.
Located just a mile from the cutest lil town, and only 7 miles from Rocky Mountain National Park (Estes Park) makes this an awesome place to stay. Charmon is very responsive to request and very kind. The property is easy to find and depending on your rig size - two options for parking. We loved it here. After a long day of amazing hikes, this was perfect to come back to - especially with the views and the sound of the creek.
Thank YOU, Charmon!
Unfortunately we did not have the opportunity to meet Charmon but through our communications she made us feel welcome. Her directions and tips on how to locate her property were clear and very helpful.
What a tranquil setting! Camping by the creek was so soothing and visually beautiful.
A perfect boondocking location to explore Rocky Mountain National Park.

Beautiful, peaceful location by a creek. About a 15 minute drive (up some steep switchbacks) to Estes Park and another 15 into Rocky Mountain National Park. We had no cell service in Glen Haven (AT&T and Verizon), but it was nice to have a chance to disconnect (and an excuse to visit the great coffee shops in Estes Park!). Oh, and if you can, DEFINITELY get a cinnamon roll from the Glen Haven General Store :D
Beautiful and peaceful. I wish I could live here! Awesome experience.
Owners were very accommodating, allowing us to stay on this riverfront property while visiting Rocky Mountain National park.
The site was clean, quiet, and truly relaxing.
This was the perfect spot for our first campsite in Colorado! It was a little tricky to get into the campsite, but worth it! The tow up to Drake and then to the spot wasn’t bad at all. We went up to The Rocky Mountains each day and it was only about twenty minutes. It was so peaceful at night and we loved hearing the river. We met an amazing person that we could swap travel stories over the camp fire and are so thrilled that this was our first Boon Dockers welcome site. Worth the membership fee just to have been able to stay here!
Charmon was so easy to communicate with and her place was absolutely beautiful! We loved listening to the river outside our window. Would love to go back again someday! Thank you again Charmon for sharing your beautiful place with us!
Beautiful scenery, loved the sound of the river. If you are into rock collecting this is a great place to do that also. Would love to stay here again!
Right by the rushing river, great wildlife viewing, incredible starry skies! Within walking distance of Glen Haven w/ store & post office. Fantastic! Thank you!
Our stay was absolutely wonderful. We loved the creek just right outside our window, only a few feet from our RV. Plenty of shade at the site. Birds were fluttering about and he sound of creek was so memorizing! Although the site was just off a county paved road, there was very little road noise, as we were closer to the creek.
The directions to the site were perfect. We were able to fit our 29 foot TT, and full size truck with no problem.
Charmon was great to work with as we asked lots of questions before hand, but rest assured, all went smoothly. I highly recommend this host and campsite.
We stayed two nights at this peaceful place. The location was perfect for access to Rocky Mountain National Park, and yet we felt we were light years away from tourists and crowds. Barely any traffic on the county road, and we felt safe and secure. We didn’t visit the General Store down the road as it was closed both times we drove by it, but it looked quaint and fun. We loved the rushing mountain stream lulling us to sleep at night! No Verizon cell service, but we could get it in Estes Park and we used the free WiFi at the Estes Park Visitor’s Center too. The host was a responsive and helpful host who went out of her way to make our stay possible. Thank you!
Peaceful, quiet location right on the river. Absolutely loved the location. Thank you.
Great place! Listened to the stream every night. So close to Rocky Mountain National Park, but away from the crowds.
So thankful I had the opportunity to stay at such a wonderful little place tucked beside constantanly rumbling river stream...the sound is mesmerizing! Close to Estes Park but yet just far enough away to feel your entirely in your own little world. Know that there isn't much (if any) cell signal in the area which I considered giant plus as it forces one to unplug, relax, grab a good book and let the busy world fade away. When I felt the need to reconnect to civilization, I'd head back to Estes Park, socialize a little, check emails, get a few provisions, etc. then head back to this little haven. Thanks Charmon and Kirk for generously making such a beautiful spot available!
We were excited when we pulled up to Lil Gem and saw that we'd have our own little slice of mountain heaven. Not too far from "downtown" Glen Haven, it was a short walk to the General Store for some huge and frosty cinnamon rolls. The short drive into Estes Park never disappointed, as we saw lots of elk gazing along side of the road at dusk. The whole week felt very private and serene. We hope to be back in the future!
This was a great place to stay for visiting Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.
This has by far been the best day I’ve had yet! This spot is truly a hidden gem, when I arrived I about fell to tears at the beauty of it! A beautiful spacious piece of land right along the river and cliffs. It Is peaceful and safe, I am a young girl in her 20s who pulled a 25 foot trailer there by myself with ease, with that said, I recommend taking the route from Loveland/devils road that is suggested, not the other route from Estes. The route going to Estes does in fact have two very hard switch backs that would be difficult with a trailer. This location is absolutely prime! Just down the road is a general store that has all the essentials you would need and fresh pastries daily! You are in the heart of the mountains and Estes so everything is very close. The site was clean and overall breathtaking. I highly recommend, the host was very friendly and easy to contact. Little to no service out there, my satellite phone worked just fine. Truly a remarkable spot to have in Gods creation, and for free, grateful for generous people like this.
WOW WOW WOW! We loved our stay at "Lil' Gem" so so so much. Incredibly peaceful setting, right along the river. The small town of Glen Haven's adorable--don't miss the cinnamon rolls at the General Store. We stayed five nights, to explore the Rocky Mountain National Park--it was beyond perfect. Charmon was a wonderful host, extremely responsive and helpful. We really couldn't be more grateful.
Wonderfull place along the river in the canyon. Very quiet, thanks for the hospitality.
Perfect little spot 20 minutes from the Rocky Mountain National Park.
Found a level spot for our van and enjoyed the quietness and the sound of the river for a good night’s rest after exploring the mountains.
Did not get to meet the hosts but they responded fast to our request. Thank you!
What a treat it was to stay at this "Lil Gem!" We enjoyed our quiet night by the river, it was so nice to hear that sound at night. The lot is very private and such a great location. Close to Estes Park and even closer to Gem Lake! We would LOVE to stay at this property again, next time for longer! Thank you!
My family enjoyed the beautiful view of the mountain side and river that this properry provided. It was glorious to fall asleep to the sounds of the river and wake up to the sunkissed mountains! Charmon was very gracious and flexible with check in and out times! The roads coming in from Loveland were definitely easier to navigate in an RV than the roads from Estes would have been so I really appreciated the suggestion Charmon provided on the best route to take! We would love to stay here again.
The first night we got there we underestimate the size of our rig (34ft) and we just drove straight in. We couldn't figure out how to back out trailer out. So we called quits and slept on it. On the morning we started trying again. And God sent us a overall wearing angel. She helped us direct traffic and guided us how to get out. So we backed out then backed our rig into the drive way. After that it was SMOOTH sailing! We went to Rocky mnt np. Then the next day we relaxed and threw the foot ball around as the boys played in the dirt. We had so much fun. It was so peaceful going to sleep to the sound of the river and watching the stars at night! BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE!!!
