My husband and I just bought our first Camper. It is a 69 Serro Scotty Gaucho 15'. While it needs to be restored we did take it for a quick weekend trip. We had a great time and now look forward to many trips once the restoration is complete.
I am pretty good with a computer but not quite the "geek" I am a pretty good photographer and definitely have the gift of gab. My husband on the other hand is a technician for Coca Cola and is pretty handy with all kind of tools. He will do the majority of work on the restoration. I will provide all the input. Hopefully he will listen.
Haven't done this yet!
We have a 1969 15' Serro Scotty Gaucho. Although we bought him with the intentions of restoring him, he was in good enough shape to go for a quick weekend trip. Granted we probably looked like the Beverly Hillbillies when we entered the camp, but we did not care. We had a great time and "Scotty" kept us safe from any wild animals, protected us from the elements and followed us without any problems.
Great stay at this location, quiet and surrounded by farm animals. 30amp hookup was right there on the gravel driveway, level site. Met with the host and had a short but great chat before setting up. The area can be windy but we still slept great. Good at&t cell signal. We had no problem swinging our 35ft fifth wheel in. We would stay here again if passing through!
My son had a great time seeing all the animals. So nice to have 30A hookup.
If they have farms like this in Heaven, I wanna go! My only contact with Mary was by phone. Which was very understandable. Covid-19. Mary is a very gracious host. But I did get to talk to her husband, John, at "The Barn"/work shop/storage. He was making a"prototype" standing fire pit. I believe he said it was his daughters. Very well made. John is very talented. John comes from Pennsylvania, "coal cracker country", my first time hearing that term. I am familiar with "Florida cracker". BTW, Mary is from Florida, but I'm not saying that she is a "cracker"! Chickens, goat's and donkey's! The goats and donkey's will love you if you bring Macintosh apples! I apologise to the chickens, but will make up for it on my next visit. Cracked corn will be coming with me, along with 6lbs of Macintosh apples. "The Farm" must be a lot like heaven (yes, referring to Hank Williams Jr's song, "If Heaven Ain't a lot like Texas"). If you go. Please respect "The Farm". I shall return.
We had a wonderful experience for our first time using boon Dockers welcome. The hosts were very nice & friendly. We loved the goats & chickens! We enjoyed an amazing sunset! We would highly recommend this spot!
Beautiful country farm . . . Loved seeing the animals and country buildings. . . 30amp power as well! Wonderful!
The marylesh hosts are extremely pleasant to work within their boondocking pad is excellent. Electric power, good privacy, and a splendid view over pastures with goats and donkeys, including 2 charming baby goats Highly recommended!
Thank you so much for letting us stay on your property! Best nights sleep and we loved seeing and hearing the animals-plus we got to see an amazing sunset last night! Stay healthy and take care!
This was our very first boondockers experience other than at friends and families houses. We came during the Covid 19 pandemic. Marylesh was delightful, gave us excellent directions as far as where to park etc. and informed us that she is the caregiver to her elderly mother so we were sure to keep our social distancing in mind. The “farm” is very quiet. Even the chickens, rooster and donkeys didn’t wake us up in the morning. Overall, we had an excellent stay and experience!
This was our 1st Boondockers Welcome stay. MaryLesh was so helpful and responsive to our questions. Her description was spot on of the location. The lot was level. The surroundings were so pleasant. We will definitely ask to return if in the area!
Mary and John were fantastic hosts! Very peaceful farm setting with lots of animals—we especially loved the baby goats! Only stayed 1 night, but would have loved more time here! Will definitely stop again if we are in the area! Thanks for a fantastic stay!
Wonderful kind hosts beautiful land green rolling hills very peaceful
Mary Lesh provided us with a great little spot to park our 5th wheel. Unfortunately, during our 5 day stay, it rained non-stop...every day and every night, so we rarely left the trailer!
Sadly, we really didn't have any opportunities to chat with our host! Maybe there will be a next time so we can remedy that!
Hosts were fantastic, very welcoming, friendly and hospitable. Weather was very bad for part of our stay and they offered us to come in the house if we needed. Turns out we were on the lee side of the barn so we were protected from the wind. Definitely recommend this boondocking location.
We had a great time staying at Mary Lesh's Farm. This was our first BW experience and it was great. The farm is a wonderful place to just relax... which is just what we did. Carrollton has a great walking trail (17 mi) around the town that is easy to access... and all the necessary shopping you might need.
Mary is an easy person to talk to, but we only spent a short time with her. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. The goats, donkeys, chickens and dog are all friendly! Thanks for a great stay Mary!
This was our first BW stay, and we picked well! We were met upon arrival and our host was very welcoming and friendly. She offered electric and water, but we didn't need it for such a short visit. Would definitely stop by again. Such a beautiful area.
Weather keep us from visting much . They were helpful and kind. Loved all the animals.
Thanks for hosting
I enjoyed my stay at marylesh place
It was beautiful country living.
My German Shepherd puppy was fascinated with the farm animals.
Would love to come back another year.
My hosts was very friendly.
We stayed for a second time and enjoyed it so much!
The kids love the farm animals, and we all had so much fun helping feed and corral the chickens!
Thanks so much for opening your property to us for a second time!!
I spent a night here and what a magical place it is! Plenty of room for my 34 foot RV to maneuver, and a very hospitable greeting from my Host. And after a long day of travel it was refreshing to go and visit the farm animals. I would welcome the chance to stay here again as it's a welcoming, spacious and refreshing place!
You might hear dogs, coyotes, or chickens. But that beats sirens, trucks, or honking horns any day. Sweet hosts with love for their country life. Unfortunately we arrived after dark but the host was nice enough to come out and guide us by flashlight. A worry free spot and that always helps make a good nights sleep.
We really enjoyed our time here. We may stop here again on way north in the spring.
We really enjoyed our stay - the kids loved visiting with the animals (such a sweet pup, too!), and the location was easy to access/park with our 35' TT.
Easy hour drive into Atlanta - I had a conference for work and we visited the World of Coca-Cola (fun!).
Hosts were kind and generous - I wish I personally had more time to chat... hopefully we'll be back for a return visit in the near future!
Thanks so much!!!
Lovely and peaceful spot to spend a night or two. Our hosts were both so friendly and accommodating. Maybe next time we could stay a few nights and explore a little more. Thank you for a peaceful stay.
Thank you Mary & John for a lovely stay. My kids loved petting the alpacas, chickens, donkeys & goats! We appreciated the power & water.
My stay with Mary was perfect. I only had a brief chat with them on the evening I arrived, they were ever so helpful and friendly. Location was extremely quiet, which was very much appreciated.
Mary was simply an amazing host! I was not able to get in until later and she was kind to assist me when I finally arrived. I enjoyed her story of their property and meeting her animals. (The rooster liked meeting me a little less though!)
They have a beautiful property and story and I would recommend their hospitality all day long. Thank you, Mary! Was a pleasure.
We needed a last-minute stay to intercept a FedEx overnight at our daughter’s nearby and our host was able to accommodate us. Such a peaceful location with sounds of animals, birds and nature surrounding us. We hope to. stay another time when in the area again. Thank you!
All the little goats
and all the chickadees
sang songs of welcome
for Larry & Wendy!
Had a peaceful, quiet night!!!
The hosts are great, the location is gorgeous, overall an amazing experience. Thank you so much!
All the animals! Roosters for wake up. Dogs for play. Alpacas and adonkey for variety! On a more serious note, simply a great place for a peaceful stay with good folk!
This was a delightful stay. The hosts were warm and welcoming, we enjoyed peace and quiet with the gentle sounds of their farm. We hope to visit again some day.
John and Mary are so fun. Mary invited me into their house and we visited till 1:00am while tornado warnings fired off all around us. Just a lot of wind and heavy rain at their place but I felt so much safer in the house than rocking and rolling in my RV 🌸😂🌸
So long to a great couple👋
John and Mary are great. I laughed so hard listening to their storyes. Then when I got sick with the flue they told me to stay where I was as long as I needed to. They offered to get me anything I need. What
Great hosts❗️ Their home and property is so quiet and rural. Very nice.
We had a peaceful night on the farm.
When we arrived our host's met us right away. Because of recent rains we stayed parked on the gravel driveway which was perfect. We were able to just pull out the next morning. Our host allowed 2 of our kids to feed her animals.
We didn't get to see them before we left since they left for work before we woke but we didn't have any issues.
Would absolutely stay here again if we find ourselves in GA again.
Thanks again for a night, quiet night.
Great stay. We were welcomed when we arrived one day early as I messed up the date request. Our girls got to feed the animals and we had a relaxing time in colder weather.
Just spent one night passing through. Hosts were full of hospitality and the spot very private. Beautiful rural Georgia countryside.
The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The setting was peaceful and quiet. It is a good place to overnight and avoid Atlanta traffic. We will definitely stay there again if the opportunity arises.
This host was extremely accommodating and really remarkable to meet. They have gorgeous property with plenty of space and beautiful animals to gaze at (they let us feed them and we loved the experience). Wish we had more time to visit with them, because they are really good people.
So nice to have found this host within about an hour of Atlanta. They were super friendly and accomodating. Enjoyed visiting and feeding the farm animals too. Grateful for the hospitality and sharing the farm experience with us. Will definitely come back to visit next time we are in the area.
Thank you for such a nice warm welcoming. Your farm is very cool. Sorry we didn't get to see you before we left , your hospitality was awesome. Please add us to your places to visit.
We had the pleasure of staying with John and Mary for a few nights, and couldn't have had a better time. When we arrived, we were offered water and electric, dinner, and visited with all the farm animals. They are building a beautiful home by hand, and we got the grand tour. This property is super peaceful, and easy to reach from the highway.
Hope to come back again!
Super welcoming and the location/ animals were just an added bonus! Our hosts went out of their way to show us the land and animals and we had a wonderful time with them our last night around a fire. Hope to see them again! Thanks so much for letting us enjoy your piece of paradise!
What a beautiful and serene location. Close to many great state parks to explore. Mary and John are great hosts, sharing stories and showing us his project of building his house. Great job and huge undertaking. We enjoyed the goats. Alpacas, donkeys, chickens, cats and playing fetch with the dog. A little piece of heaven and only 50 miles from Atlanta. Thank you for your hospitality. Virginia and Bob
We like staying with Mary & John at their farm setting place. All the animals remind us of our rural upbringing, esp. the newborn goat! Hope to see you again.
We offer a recommendation for Marylesh in Carrollton. They offered a quiet, comfortable location that allowed us to avoid Atlanta. Alpacas, goats, dogs, cats, etc provided a nice, farm-like atmosphere. And she is very nice. We didn't get to meet him but we'll try to return another time for sure.
My wife, son and I had a wonderful stay!
The hosts are wonderful and the setting is so relaxing and beautiful.
Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at your property it was a treat.
Great quick visit. Really warm people, so inviting. Host were the best. Treated us better than family.
