Wendy grew up in the hills overlooking the central valley of California and is a retired computer programmer. Steve is a Colorado native, who worked in telecommunications for a local power company. We love to travel, both domestically and internationally. We have a one acre lot with a view of Long's Peak and a shop big enough to house Steve's old trucks and the RV. When we aren't travelling, we try to stay out of trouble by tearing up our house and putting it back together again. We are close enough to the Rocky Mountains to enjoy excellent hiking and mountain biking. We normally travel before Memorial Day and after Labor Day, and are usually home for the summer.
We have some electrical skills and some computer skills as well as a good general knowledge of RV systems.
We have an older cat who adopted us a few years ago. She is fairly shy and she does not like dogs. She does not travel with us.
Our favorite boondocking is somewhere with natural beauty - be it forests, lakes, or deserts.
We generally camp in state or provincial parks.
Longmont, Colorado
2001 Roadtrek 21' class B RV. It has no slideouts, and looks like a slightly overgrown van.
I had the most wonderful experience meeting Steve and Wendy during a big snow storm. They were super friendly and helpful and really fun to be with. I hope we will meet again.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing time with Steve and Wendy, and even more so enjoyed dinner and drinks with them. They were so kind to let us plug in during a cold front that passed through. They also gave us walking directions to the shops nearby through a beautiful local park. Thank you so much!
Stevewendyrt are super hosts! So friendly and accommodating. Really enjoyed my stay, the great conversations, and even a fun bike ride! Their home is lovely with beautiful landscaping and a very quiet neighborhood. Hope to catch up with them again. Thanks so much!
I had such a nice stay with Steve and Wendy. So many pleasant conversations, especially during casual evening cocktails on the patio. Very accommodating and a great spot! Thank you so much Steve and Wendy!
A great stay with gracious hosts! . Really nice level gravel parking with electrical outlet. Much appreciated during this recent heat wave! A beautiful yard and close to any necessary shopping. I really enjoyed my time here!
Can not say enough good words about our hosts. We love them. The kids were crying when we left. That is how much we made good friends. Plane perfect.
As for the place, everything was also top notch. Close to everything. Located in a lovely town close to National park and more.
Thoughtful, kind and generous, and we had a lovely visit, they gave us their recommendations on our next destination, much appreciate everything!!
Easy to get to, easy to park, safe, quiet, pitch dark at night so very restful, but they have floodlights in the driveway for night arrivals. They mentioned mosquitoes were rampant, so spray and screen before getting out.
Thank you so much, what a nice visit!
Perfect parking space, close to all kinds of shopping. Short drive to Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National park. Had a short but great time visiting and sharing stories. Hope to visit again some day.
Been here several times.... Steve and Wendy get better every time!
Dave n Chris :-)
Wonderful people who responded quickly and gave us a great one night stop-over on our way to Rocky Mountain National Park area. Very friendly. We hope to stay again on our travels in the years to come and get a chance to trade travel stories. Very quiet for a good night sleep, nice flat place for our RV, and close to major stores. Thank you so much!
We arrived while Steve and Wendy were out. Got set up and took a nap., After tbey got home we jad a very pleasamt visit for about two hours.
Great hosts, offered use of the restroom in the shop/mancave, which we used. Look forward to future relationshjp with Wendy and Steve.
Wonderful people very friendly and helpful. Great hospitality. Had the opportunity to visit and get to know a bit about them and their travels. We had such a wonderful time. We hope to meet them again. Were thankful for all they did for us.
Steve and Wendy were such fantastic hosts! We stayed with them several nights and it couldn't have been better. We spent some time together discussing life and travel over cocktails, and they were super helpful with mountain biking recommendations in the area! We will definitely keep Steve and Wendy in our thoughts, and hope to make it back to stay with them again in the future!
We stopped here after a long day of driving in the heat. We were welcomed "warmly"and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Wendy and Steve gave us some great local info. Would love to return the favor. Would love to stop back by.
So nice people, we had a great time. Warm warm welcome they offered us so many facilities and helped us in so many ways. We still have no words to say how grateful we are. The kids loved to staying over there. They are very welcome anytime in France and we will be very happy to see them again!
Two of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet. I was on a trip visiting family on weekends and camping in the mountains during the week, and they were gracious enough to let me leave my trailer there on the weekends. They have a wonderful location (and a very wide driveway which made it easy to back the trailer in). He even found me the best route to take to my daughter's house avoiding Friday afternoon traffic (no small feat in the Denver area). This is my first experience with Boondockers Welcome, and it could not have been more positive. Thank you!
If you want a host who is hospitable, interesting, and a jack of all trades, this is the place to go. He has a large workshop with a collection of antiques, plus a RoadTrek which is the same age as ours and also kept in this shed. Also has water, electric, and bathroom facilities. This couple were so helpful in offering their in house shower and also invited us to join them for "Happy Hour". Don't know what else you could ask for so makes a perfect Boondocker site!
Stevewendyrt have the perfect setup at their little slice of heaven in Longmont! Such lovely surroundings, level parking, gracious hosts, and location, location, location! Don't miss an opportunity to stay with these perfect hosts!
Thank you both so much!
We had a wonderful experience staying with Steve and Wendy. They are a fun couple that were extremely accommodating. They offered us anything we needed and gave us information and recommendations on the area, as well as for future travel destinations. They are in close proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park, Arapahoe, and Boulder. We went on a beautiful local hike with them that they recommended. Steve was even nice enough to try to fix our refrigerator for us, which unfortunately has not been working properly. It was a pleasure getting to know the two of them and touring the area. If we are ever back in the area, we would absolutely visit or stay with them again.

Wendy and Steve were gracious enough to allow me to stay at their home / driveway.
Good people and easy to talk to especially if you ply them with a bottle of wine!
Thank-you both for your hospitality, Dave ;-)
Ps we'll be back. ;-)
