Exploring the country while working full-time from the road

Do you know or have you hosted this user?

Started full-time van living in Jan 2019, working my way around the US and Canada. Travelled 62,000 KM, 31 States, 7 Provinces and hundreds of National, State and Provincial Parks.

Full-time IT infrastructure engineer for a firm in Ottawa. I work Eastern Time hours from my mobile office.

Relocated my home base to Vancouver in 2020, currently exploring the beauty of British Columbia.

Proud owner of a gorgeous 19.5-foot Mercedes Benz Sprinter 2500, professionally built by Roadtrek in Kitchener, Ontario and lovingly named Vanna. She’s a fully self-contained off-grid rig with myriad of high-tech features, creature comforts and work-horse diesel that has never let me down.

Motivation for vanlife? An escape from the daily grind while seeing new places, experiencing new things and meeting new people. Van life has been the single greatest and most-life changing decision I have made. I have many stories and would be happy to share!

Quiet and sociable

Joined us for two nights. Was absolutely not an inconvenience at all as he was very self sufficient and self contained. Very easy going and courteous. He is doing the dream . . . we would not hesitate to welcome to come back!

Very friendly

They were with us for a very short stay, and would be welcome back any time. Our pup was smitten and would have jumped in with them given the slightest encouragement.

Great Young Adventurous couple

L&E arrived quietly and set up without much effort. Their van could fit anywhere on our property. They were quiet and remained to themselves during their day of arrival.

My wife and I invited them to dinner that night and we enjoyed a very nice night with them. The conversation was never dull as we heard about their travels and plans for the year.

After dinner we shared some drinks and a cigar and the conversation continued.

Sunday morning they were adventurous enough to try some local cuisine and we had boudin with king cake and local cane syrup for breakfast.

They were the youngest couple we have hosted so far, it was a great change. They left as quietly as they arrived.

We wish them safe travels and hope they make it back around soon!

Lynne & Eric are an Adventurous Couple

What a lovely and resourceful couple. Both have great talents they put to good use on the road-- pilot and co-pilot! The overnight stay was quiet and peaceful followed by a relaxing breakfast chat. We had a chance to share ideas about places to visit and apps to help us find our way. May this sweet couple experience many miles of happy travels and create many fond memories that will last a lifetime!

Arrived as strangers and left as friends.

We truly enjoyed this couple and would welcome them back at any time. They were quiet and courteous. This talented couple put on a little concert for us the evening before we left.
Keep singing and strumming. Happy journey.
