Do you know or have you hosted this user?

Retired in '09 to Powell River BC. Ocean view home on 1/2 acre right on hwy 101. Room for one more. 64 this summer, ex Navy, ex CoastGuard, Ex LongHauler, Ex Farrier, Writer and Sailor. Still writing, still sailing, on 8th sailboat. Leaving Aug this year - 2012 - from Powell River BC to Ottawa, Ont, return, for inaugural RV run. Married to Teresa and Rescue Cocker Spaniel 'Sydney'. I'm missing the horses, but teaching myself fingerstyle acoustic guitar, and putting several of my hundreds of poems to music...when I'm not gardening or on the boat. Gotten quite domesticated for an old Cowboy Trucker.

Skills & Expertise to Share

Not much use on the skills department, unless you want a horse shod, cattle moved, a tractor trailer parked, or a sailboat rigged, or a story written...nothing practical for RV'ing I'm afraid. Can entertain with lots of adventure stories and cowboy poetry though.

Favorite Boondocking Locations

Anywhere away from cities, especially ocean-side or rolling grasslands of southern Alberta and Cypress Hills of Saskatchewan.

Salty Dog's Rig

Sold the '86 Pete before I retired. THAT was a rig! Bought her used for $17k, put $50k of chrome, aluminum and new parts into her, ran her for 10 years and sold her for $22k. Now that's 'truckn', lol. Latest blunder is a new-to-us 2001 Siverado 2500 Duromax Crew Cab Short box 4x4, two 95L fuel tanks, running boards, Edge Attitude Computer, Banks Engine Brake, Tranny cooler, oil cooler, tonneau, and a 2001 Peak Legend fifth wheel with one slide, two solar panels and two batteries, no tv
