My husband and I are Pennsylvanians who are retired and love to travel. We've rented RV equipment for a couple of longer trips in the Western US, Canada, and Alaska. We 'discovered' boondocking in Alaska when I made a mistake on a campground reservation in Fairbanks, AK and we really enjoyed the freedom. We are now planning our 'retirement trip' and have planned to boondock more often.
My husband has been retired for some time; he'd been working part-time in retail for the last 10 years, and that ended at the beginning of 2019. I ended my full time employment at the end of 2018. We spend summers in Quebec, Canada at our vacation home.
I'm pretty handy with a computer, actually I'm a technical writer and have a lot of experience preparing complex documents. My hobbies including making pottery and other crafts, genealogy, and ballroom dancing. My husband and I share our passion for fishing, and Harry's other hobby is photography.
No.
So far, it's just been in Alaska, but we hope to boondock along the eastern seacoast of the US and Canada.
Palmyra, PA (just 4 miles east of Hershey PA)
Lightweight camper trailer towed by a Chevy Traverse. We are renting this camper for the trip. It's a blue/white Jayco, single axle. It is fully contained, and has a generator, if needed. We are relatively new to RV'ing and boondocking. We will be good guests - it's just my husband and me, both retired.
