Ray is a retired line worker with the local power company and has been there for 33 years. Ruth is an LNA and works for the local hospital and nursing home. We have 2 sons, and 6 grandchildren. We like to sno bird during the cold months from Vt (which is most of the time). We have family in Vt and Tennessee. We have 6 grandchildren and another on its way
I was a lineman for the power company and I am very handy at many things. If you have a problem and we can’t help fix we know plenty of people who can help.
We have one little 6 pound chihuahua that loves to travel with us.
We have a home in Springfield Vt and one in Tennessee. When we are not out and about we set up at what ever place we are at.
We have an 03, 40’ American Tradition. We tow a trailer with 1 of the cars on it. Never sure what one we will take, so that is up for grabs. We love the traveling we have done a now looking into much more.
Very convenient location, hosts were fantastic, very welcoming and accommodating! Nice quiet spot to spend the night
What a great place to stay for our first boondocking experience! The hosts were so kind & welcoming & the site was perfect for a good night’s rest. Peaceful, with a great view of the night sky. Heard some owls, saw some deer. Our dog enjoyed it too! Thank you for your hospitality…& the Vermont maple syrup!!
The hosts were so awesome! They greeted us with a taste of Vermont and helped us get parked, even helped get our camper leveled. We had spectacular views from their gorgeous property! On our last evening we had a cook out with the hosts, their son’s beautiful family and another amazing Aussie boondocker! We will never forget the time we shared with these wonderful and gracious hosts! A lifelong memory for sure! We will definitely be back!! Thank you both so very very much!!!
Had the best time with the hosts! Super friendly!
Large mostly level spaces and beautiful views! Couldn't have asked for a better stay. We plan on coming back again!
An awesome pair of hosts. Our hosts R and R could not have been nicer. The camp site was excellent. Level, clean and quiet. Would recommend this stop to anyone.
Very quiet, so peaceful. Lots to do and see in this little piece of heaven.
The hosts are there if you need anything but they just let you do your own thing.
Our hosts were very welcoming. They were super friendly and gave us some amazing Vermont Maple syrup. We were in an open field and had a few beautiful nights.
Perfect boondockers welcome spot. Very welcoming hosts, quiet level spot. Great little town!
This was awesome, this was our first time with Boondocks welcome and Ray and Ruth did not disappoint! We enjoyed our stay with them and hope to return.
The host allowed us to extend our stay. We are really glad we did as it was a fantastic BW site to stay at.
The hosts were just fantastic with communication and direction to find this site. The actual "accepted site" directions took us to Union St on a dead end. Do NOT go there! Just punch in the "accepted " street name when you get close. We went on a Covered Bridge tour on the HARLEY on our second day. There are 4 or 5 all within 20 miles. What a FUN DAY!! Every road in Vermont is curvy and hilly. Fantastic motorcycle riding on any road nearby. One of our top 5 BW host sites to visit and stay at. Highly recommended!!
Wonderful place to stay. Very quiet. Slept very peacefully. Parked on the lawn next to a 150 year old barn. Private away from the house. Our hosts were very hospitable and we enjoyed talking with them into the evening. Would highly recommend these hosts and location is close to main highways.
Beautiful location, quiet and very level. Hosts were not present, but graciously allowed us to stay, a family member set up a sign indicating where to park. After a few days here, we headed north for a week. On our return trip, we were able to stop by and meet our hosts. Lovely folks, very friendly, lots of experiences to share. We would happily stay here again. Thank you!
JUST-A-DUBBIN FARM is a great secluded rural location near Springfield, VT. Host wasn’t present but was very communicative and graciously allowed us to stay. They even had a family member stop by and see if we needed anything. Very friendly people. We would be pleased to visit again.
This was a perfect spot for us to wind down & rest after 2 days of skiing at Okemo. Hosts were easy to communicate with (answered right away!) very accommodating & kind. Spot was level & area was peaceful. We will be back!
Could not have been more welcoming. So grateful for their kindness beautiful location and the nicest people. Would stay again if I’m the area!
They are very nice and their property is perfect and quiet! They helped us back in, gave us some Vermont maple syrup, and made us feel very welcome. They even accommodated for our late arrival time! Great place to stay, highly recommend :)
Super welcoming and friendly. Very accommodating for a larger vehicle and easy to park. Enjoyed a nice quiet visit!
We had an amazing time during our stay! Southern Vermont was gorgeous. Ruth and Ray were kind and welcoming hosts and their property was beautiful and comfortable. Highly recommend!!
Our hosts were great. They guide us into the spot and made sure we were comfortable before retiring for the night would highly recommend them to anyone else
R & R were great hosts and we are very thankful to get to stay here. Directions were concise, the parking was clearly marked and we were able to get fairly level by moving around a little. Their habit of giving their guest a small bottle of real VT maple syrup was very appreciated and it made our breakfast a perfect feast. Electricity was provided and we spent a peaceful night. Thanks for all.
Our hosts were right there to help us get settled in and were very enjoyable to chat with, very helpful making recommendations for the area and even gave us maple syrup!
They checked in with us daily and when we had a flat tire on our tow they were right there to help.
Excellent area for peace and quiet. A golf course and orchard right up the road, a walking/bike path in town and all other services within 5 miles. The foliage all up and down the state was outstanding!
Vermont ain’t flat so if hiking is your thing there is much to do and these hosts are some of the finest!
My hosts were awesome. I was greeted with Vermont Maple Syrup! A very nice welcome gift. Going to whip up some pancakes! I stayed by the barn in an open field and my dogs loved it. This is a very convenient location but secluded and not noisy, too. Would love to recommend them to you!
The hosts were super nice and gave us maple syrup. The view is incredible and the surroundings are so peaceful! A+++
Nice spot, super nice people. What more could you ask for?! Thanks for having us!
This was my first opportunity to stay at boondockerswelcome host site. I was nervous, well maybe scared to stay on a strangers property. Especially after a very stressful stay in my home state of Connecticut. I had not been east in over 3 years. Going east was maybe not the best decision considering the painful residue left by the pandemic. My family was possibly a little distraught with the idea i was on the road during the pandemic. So, not wanting to cause my family any undo stress, i headed east from Arizona. To be honest, it wasnt all selfless as i wanted to visit some dear friends. Additionally, i had a mini cooper to sell and a lifetimes worth of stuff to clear out of storage.
After a few months in connecticut, i was due for some decompression. I thought the green mountains might help with easing some of the tension. I decided to stay at winhall brook in bennington vermont. My stay at the campground proved to be quite enjoyable. The people i met helped me ease out of the bunched nerves. Very lovely welcoming people. The stay at the campground was the only reason i considered looking into boondockerswelcome. Unfortunately, i did not do my part to research how guests felt staying at boondockerswelcome. For maybe obvious reasons, this would need to be done independent of the actual boondockerswelcome site.
I feel when staying on a strangers property there is a lot less privacy. It seems obvious now. Though i did look at a satellite view of the property to see distance between the house and potential parking spot, i still felt like i was part of the wildlife that was normally viewed from the house. I say that in jest, but if someone is new it would be something to consider. That said, i think Roy and Ruth did their best to accommodate me. Even gave me taste of vermont in the form of syrup. Thank you for taking the risk and allowing me stay as a newbie.
Ray and Ruth saved our night on our maiden voyage with our new-to-us trailer. The trailer tongue jack broke and Ray was able to rig things so we were level and stabilized. We enjoyed our evening stay amidst their family activities and the serene morning. If our adventures lead us to this area again, we would love to go back.
This was our first experience with boondockers welcome and it was wonderful.
The spot is fantastic. We had a lovely visit.
We had a great time. We would highly recommend this location. We did not get to meet our hosts but their son Jeremy and his family were very helpful. They brought us maple syrup. The views were great and the starry sky was worth the trip. We hiked waterfalls near by and they recommended a great ice cream spot. Markets, gas stations, some restaurants nearby. Less than 30 mins to Okemo Mnt. Can’t wait to visit again the land is well maintained!
Hosts were great and friendly. Nice spot to see fall colors, probably another week or so for peak colors. Beautiful sunrises and watching fog rise from valley. We did day trips to explore Calvin Coolidge’s birthplace and another to hike in Jamaica state park.
Lovely parking spot! Great area to explore. Enjoyed our stay! Thank you.
A very nice, quiet spot. We were greeted warmly by the hosts. Lots of space, in fact, we were there with other Boondockers and never heard a peep out of them. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.
I can not say enough good things about our stay - host was generous enough to meet us down the road to ensure that we did not get lost, there was plenty of room for parking, use of hookups was very much appreciated - and she provided us with a couple rolls of TP to tie us over until we got to Walmart!
The views are beautiful here, and at night we could see more stars in the sky than I think we've ever seen before - the kids were amazed and said it was just like the planetarium!
While here we drove about an hour north to the Sugarbush Maple Farm and I HIGHLY recommend it - so many delicious samples! We also made the drive further north to Ben & Jerrys - the kids loved the tour and ice cream!
I wish that we had more time to explore Vermont - and see more of the changing leaves (we were a tad early for that).
We sincerely appreciate everything you guys did for us! Thanks so much!!
Our very first Boondockers Welcome experience. They happened to be on site as we pulled up. They stayed with us until we were situated. Very very accommodating. Gorgeous remote location. Easy to maneuver our 40’ Class A towing. Happened to have reservations the same days they did at a campground after we left their site. They spotted our RV, left us a note and hung out at our site that night. Would definitely recommend and stay there again!
My hosts were both delightful! They not only provided a lovely space to spend the night, but they helped me find my way there when my GPS lead me astray. My pups loved running in the field! I hope to visit again! :)
What a treat to arrive in this darling little town, and then just outside of town, get to boondock on a beautiful countryside property with welcoming and friendly hosts. We had a great stay complete with a star full of stars and fireflies at night. Our dog loved running around the open grassy field. The next morning we headed to a nearby farm for blueberry picking and a petting zoo. Thank you to our hosts!
Our stay at Just-A_Dubbin Farm was so peaceful and quiet. It was just what we needed to get a little work done. The Hosts were really kind and so welcoming. Even our dog, Gizmo loved it. He really enjoyed running around in the grassy area by the rig.
The hosts at Just a Dubbin farm were warm and friendly. They accomodated me and my short bus for a couple days after visiting my daugher in Stratton where she's working. I am really grateful for their hospitality. I enjoyed exploring the area also!
We enjoyed every moment of our trip and were genuinely sad to leave this wonderful location and family. We were recommended to go to the nearby orchard and had the best time. This was also one of the most beautiful locations we have been in. We would recommend this location and family through and through.
I had a lovely stay at the farm! The host greeted me to help pick a place to park on the field with a view overlooking a valley. The town has a new coffee shop that serves excellent oatmeal (get the warm maple syrup!), a permanently placed BBQ smoker & food truck called Two Neanderthals that was fabulous, and an ice cream shop (that is only open when a movie is showing at the movie theater). Within half an hour are TWO National Park Service locations (Billings Farm and Saint-Gaudens' home) and Fort No. 4 (a reproduction French & Indian War fort), and also the American Precision Machinery Museum, as well as various covered bridges and other historical things. Thank you for hosting!
Did not get to meet the host, but their son, daughter in law and grandsons were there to meet us. Very friendly, we received some maple syrup (yummy!) & they also allowed us to get some water for the road. Thanks so very much - Happy Easter!
Such an amazing experience at Just a dubbin Farm!!! It was our 1st boondocking and we met some issues with our RV. Hosts were so helpful and generous, taking time and helping us to fix the issues. We are so blessed to stop at this nice place!
We had the opportunity to boondock once again with Just A Dubbin and were very happy with the accommodations. Quiet and peaceful out in the country. Spent time looking for wildlife and did have a visit from 17 turkeys. Met with the family and had a great visit.
Thanks for your hospitality.
We had a nice and peaceful night at the farm. The kids had a grand time running in the big green grassy field and even though the hosts were out of town their son and daughter-in-law met us there. They were so welcoming and helpful. This was our first Boondockers Welcome stay and it was really nice. They even had some maple syrup for us as a gift! What a treat!
We visited the apple orchard just up the road at the hosts recommendation and it was perfect for us. We got some delicious apples and thoroughly enjoyed the petting Zoo.
Loved being in the field. Very quiet and peaceful location with very friendly hosts.
... with very nice people ! Ruth and Ray are very welcoming. We contact us late and they accept us directly in a very beautiful place.
When another host rescinded their offer, dubbing made arrangements for their son to meet us since they were out of town. Unfortunately we couldn't make it. They were very gracious again when I didn't tell them we weren't coming. Special people.
Stayed over night so I could go to the "Balloon festival " in Quechee, vt. Not only did my host take me to the store but gave me some REALLY maple syrup! Unfortunately for me the festival was rained out,but the trip was worth it.Linda and Rusty and are roadtrek.
Ray and Ruth are as wonderful a couple you could ever hope to meet!! Loads of room to park easily, great conversations, and even left with Vermont maple syrup and roof slate to paint on. Fun time would always plan them as a stop
If you find yourself RVing in southern VT and would like a beautiful night sky and don't mind meeting great people, stay with Just-a-Dubbin Farm on their expansive property. Our kids had the chance to run around & fly a kite! A nice quiet backroad adventure. Follow their directions even if your navigation system says otherwise...
Ray and Ruth were so welcoming and thoughtful. We really enjoyed some great conversation, learned so much about them and their lovely family, and felt right at home. They were incredibly welcoming to our kids, too, and we LOVED the maple syrup. YUM!
They put us in a great level spot on gravel with electricity, and we all slept like babies. This was one of the quietest spots we've stayed in and very restful.
We just had the opportunity to stay with Ray and Ruth and they were great. Very friendly and most accommodating. Very nice flat open parking space. No problem at all with 40' and toad. Being in Vermont during the fall was a bonus. Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed our stay with Just-A-Dubbin. A nice quiet, level and grassy site. Very interesting, generous and fun to be with couple! Amazing stars and moon the night we stayed. A definite thumbs up!
