Middle age guy, not sure what else to say to describe me. Wish I was this age but with my 25 year old physique!

Good place to stay in Athens. Bought coffee and Jittery Joe's t- shirts for gifts. Fun. Quiet. Not bothered at all by the trains. Would definitely stay again.
The staff, workers and roasters, greeted us warmly, when we arrived late afternoon. We always look forward to a good visit there, which we had, and we spent a cool, quiet evening in our site. No doubt the train engineer knew of our presence, since he tooted his horn several time to say hello; we slept through some of his hellos. Since we have stopped there for years and years, we felt, once again, at home. Thanks,Jittery Joe!
We stayed 2 nights - great location, walking distance to downtown and University in a quiet, safe neighborhood. The parking area is huge and we were the only ones there. The host offered to keep the restroom open and lock the gate to the area. As a bonus, there was a market in the parking lot on Saturday and we able to purchase ground coffee to take with us. (We were also served Jittery Joe's coffee at a local restaurant!) Communication was easy - we would definitely stay again!
C...an't say enough good about our stay at JJ's!
O...ur stay was highlighted with a friendly staff of JJ's to make us feel welcome!
F....or the first time in years, we heard no trains at night while we were sleeping.
F...orget the noisy leafblowers who did their work at 7 in the a.m.
E...very part of our stay was to our satisfaction!
E...xpect us to return in March on our way back to Canada!
We loved waking up to delicious coffee. The employee of the coffee shop was super friendly and helpful. The train came by a few times, but didn’t bother us. We’d definitely boondock here again!
Our first boondockers overnight stay. It was perfection. A quick walk downtown and tons of hip restaurants and brew pubs. I can’t forget to mention the coffee! Bought 2 bags to give as gifts but don’t think anyone will be getting them. Lol. Thank you Mr Jittery and crew for making us feel right at home. I sure hope we can come back someday.
I stayed here for 2 nights and wouldn't hesitate to request coming back. The parking area is a huge paved lot behind the main buildings, so you're tucked out of the way of the business & customers. But there are picnic tables you can use, and they will even leave the restrooms unlocked for you if you want them to do so. The aroma of the roasted coffee is just wonderful! They are right next to the train tracks, and they are freight trains that go through... quite often, in fact. But that, for me, just added to the "fun" of this stay.
Really enjoyed our stay in Athens. Plan on returning. The location is very convention to downtown. Also the security of the fenced lot and locked gate was nice. There is plenty of space and is a big concrete unmarked parking lot that would fit any rig.
Thanks for letting me stay in your safe and secure spot. Arrived after they closed, and left before they opened.
We met a member of his team. He is a very friendly man and helpful. He gave us great recommendations for pubs, restaurants downtown. The coffee is delicious! There was a farmers market on Wednesday afternoon by the brewery. We recommend this place for staying over for visiting Athens.
Our 1 lb Indian Samatra coffee was as good as our stay at JJ's! We'll be back for more!
The wife and I stopped in for a night and enjoyed the convenient location and security of a gated lot. It was also nice to wake up to a fresh cup of Joe!
This was our first time using Boondockers and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Great location, walkable to everything, gracious hosts. Loved it!
This was our first visit to Athens. The team at Jittery Joe's roasting co couldn't have been more friendly, accommodating and helpful. They gave us great recommendations for pubs, restaurants and local flavor. The coffee is delicious! There was a winter farmers market that started at 11am on Saturday morning. We had a lovely connection with the woman who hosts the market. Purused the wares and met more great people. This was our first boondocking experience, And it was terrific! Would definitely come back. The proximity to town was an easy walk.
This was our first stay as boondockers and hopefully won’t be our last at Jittery Joe’s. The location was nice with a large fenced paved lot. Our hosts were friendly and accomodating.
We heard two trains before falling asleep and then blissful quiet the rest of the night. We didn’t find the train noise intrusive at all. Waking up to great coffee is a major plus. Yes, we felt a bit spoiled. We liked the coffee so much we bought some to bring home!
Our only regret is having to cut our trip short due to some issues with our house batteries. We look forward to boondocking at Jittery Joe’s in the future!
With all the traveling and all the strife,
Jittery Joe's brought a light into our life!
From Canada we came to escape the cold,
It's warm in Athens as we've been told.
And then the choo-choo lights start blinking
and the railroad trains whistle gets you thinking
About the trains you heard when you were a kid
To be cranky about them, God forbid!
So no more do they keep us awake
Cause we're used to it now; our stay is great!
Large cement site to park, gate closes at 6pm and then the dogs got to run. Friendly staff great coffee. We and the dogs walked to town, very eclectic college town. Dog where welcome in all outside seating. The trains are loud but would recommend this host!
A staff member, working late on a Saturday evening, opened the gate for us, escorted us to our parking spot, offered us refreshments and use of an outdoor patio table, and even found us a power cord. Very gracious.... Location is mixed residential and industrial, so using a generator is no problem..... Convenient to the University of Georgia, as well. Be sure to go on line and buy some coffee as a way of saying 'thanks'
We stayed two nights at Jittery Joe’s. Location was perfect - a quick walk to downtown bars, restaurants, and UGA. Plenty of space in the lot with some shade in the afternoon and the fact that it was a pull-through spot was a plus. As other reviewers have mentioned, the train is very close and comes by a few times a day but it’s not a big deal. Best part is there’s no need to make your own coffee in the morning - just walk out your door and into the coffee shop! Thanks Bgooge! We will definitely be back!
Tis is our 2nd visit wit Jittery Joe's and we loved it even more. All staff are so welcoming and friendly. Had a great nights sleep and some delicious coffee in the morning. Highly recommended as a stopover or for great coffee! Thanks again guys!
Enjoyed our 1 night stay. It was conveniently located to things we wanted to do and the locked gated lot made us feel secure.
We were lucky enough to spend the weekend at Jittery Joe's, and had a great experience. The parking area is walking distance to an adorable downtown area, with parks, art, music, etc. Plus, it's a coffee shop! All the staff we met were friendly and very helpful in finding things to do and places to eat around town. The trains do like to blast their horn at all hours, but we were able to relax and sleep just fine. I do hope we can come back in the future and spend more time with these wonderful people in Athens.
We booked to stay 2 nights at Jittery Joes Coffee Roaster and could not believe our luck when we turned up!
Not only is this location less than 10 minutes walk to Downtown Athens, but the staff (and owner) were amazing and helpful with everything including local recommendations.
The smell from the roaster is incredible and the site itself is spacious and secure.
We bought lots of (excellent) coffee from Stephen (?) who was so informative and passionate about the coffee they sold.
Another highlight was meeting a local artist Vernon Thornsberry.
We would love another chance to stay there again! Thank you guys!
This was our first Boondockers Welcome experience, and it was great! Bgooge was so friendly and accommodating. We parked in the private, secure (gated) lot outside his coffee roasting business. Yes, the train goes by and makes a bit of a racket, but we only heard it twice -- just before we went to sleep (around midnight) and in the morning. No big deal. The location's fantastic -- just a quick walk to a handful of restaurants (we ate at Grit, which we'd recommend), and a bit further on to all of downtown Athens, the university, etc.
Thank you, Bgooge, for a wonderful stay!
Heat index was in the 100s... grateful for the shade and being able to run my generator. I think it will cool off enough to sleep with everything open. Staff here is wonderful and accommodating. The aroma of this place is intoxicating. Looking forward to my morning brew before I hit the road. Thanx so much!
Raining when we got there, but the coffee shop was still open. Our host was very friendly, came out in the rain to show us where we could park. Lots of choices. Our generator acted up in the morning so we took off in search of an Onan dealer... We’d definitely return and hopefully in better weather. These hosts are SO invited to visit us in Canada.
Great space, staff and coffee. Has a few trains for entertainment, but kind of fun. Coffee Roaster and staff were nice to talk with. We will stop again and again.
This was our first Boondocker experience and it was a positive one. The location is a coffee roasting facility--no need to worry about brewing your own cup in the mornings. The staff was very welcoming and friendly! There is a fence around the parameters that made us feel safe. It is near an active train that can be very loud (and long!) at times. Lots of space to park your camper and is close to the downtown area. The owner/fellow Boondocker introduced himself on the last night we were there and was very friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
This was my first time contacting someone through 'boondockerswelcome.' My host was super responsive, super friendly and gave me a great place to park my rig for a couple of days. The location is a business and very walkable to downtown Athens and great places for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
It's close to train tracks which is a plus as far as my wife and I are concerned. My friend commented... "Enjoy the trains! That's the old Seaboard Airline's mainline from Richmond to Birmingham, now CSX. Those tracks first came through Athens in the 1880's."
I would most certainly stay here again as long as the welcome mat is still out.
