Dave retired from the Air Force after 30 years of service in communications then worked at a local college in the IT dept and retired from there. I am a retired Physical Therapist Assistant. I play around with the guitar and like photography (even tho I'm not that good with either yet!). We have lived in Turkey, Phillipines, Germany, Greece, and Japan as well as OK, FL, RI, SC, and TX with the Air Force as our guide. Dave has enjoyed long-distance backpacking - he did a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail (GA to Maine) in 1997, a section of the Pacific Crest Trail, and 2,400 miles of the Continental Divide Trail. I'm afraid I don't have the fortitude for that but do enjoy most things outdoors! We still think of ourselves as younger than the calendar tells us and still feel there are so many places we still want to see and enjoy!
We live on 5 acres with easy access to/from I-40 east of Oklahoma City, OK. We have 2 small dogs that travel with us. We have a large fenced yard that guest dogs can run in if they get along with our dogs. In the pasture we have free-ranging 5 goats, 2 horses and some chickens. We have an extra space in our driveway where we can accommodate RVs up 35’. It's quiet out here and relatively convenient to activities in Oklahoma City. We look forward to meeting some new people and going to some new places!
Dave is knowledgeable in electronics and computers. He has a basic idea about most mechanical and repair issues.
Yes! We have 2 small terrier-mix rescue dogs. They haven’t traveled much with us yet since we’ve only acquired them during this crazy Covid year. We keep them leashed and pick up their waste appropriately.
We live on 5 acres in a small rural area. We’ve been here for 22 years now and enjoy the quiet of rural living. There is a grocery store -5 miles away. Bigger shopping is available approx 20 minute away.
We have a 30' (jack-to-rear measurement) Heartland North Trail bumper-pull trailer with one slide, towed by a Chevy 2500 diesel 4x4 truck. Would prefer electric hookup during hot weather to use AC.
Our hosts were friendly, warm and welcoming. They met us in the driveway as we arrived and efficiently guided us as we backed in to our overnight space. Their place is in a beautiful country setting, on rolling acreage with chickens and goats kept in a neat enclosed pasture. A very peaceful and quiet stay - we would enjoy visiting these folks again in the future as we have opportunity!
We spent a few wet days in the beautiful pasture with horses, chickens and goats. It is a lovely place and Dave N Steph in OK were very accommodating! It was a much needed rest before our long drive almost non-stop back to the east coat. Thank you for the blessing of your pasture and your kindness!!
Friendly hosts with a very nice location. My dog played with their pups in the yard, and they were flexible on arrival departure time. 30 amp hookup is a nice perk, and they do have water as well (that I didn't use). Thanks much!
Very nice hosts met us and showed us where to plug in, and we had a nice chat at safe distance about travel and hosting, etc. Thank you so much for hosting our brief but pleasant stay. Hope to stay again sometime.
Needed a safe, convenient place to park for the night. The hosts were very nice and helpful. They wore masks and practiced social distancing. I would love to stay again under better circumstances and get to know them better! The area is quiet and was easy to find.
They even offered water and power! Thank you!
Hosts are wonderful! Their small farm is lovely and we had a quiet, good night's sleep. Host let me borrow some books for the night about camping stays in areas we are headed. We would have enjoyed a longer stay.
Our stay here was great. We had plenty of room for our RV and tow car. The hosts were very friendly and offered to let our dogs run in a large gated area. They have horses, goats and chickens on the property. We had a very peaceful night
We enjoyed meeting Steph and Dave. Our 35' 5th wheel was too big to maneuver into the side driveway so, we stayed in the pasture and thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay. Thank you so much for your hospitality!
We had a wonderful stay here and very much appreciate the hospitality of our hosts. Stephanie was so accommodating, helpful with directions and information; just a very nice person. If it were not for this Covid world we live in, I would truly have enjoyed visiting with these folks more than we were able to. Their home is in a very pretty part of the world. Bonus: they have great puppy dogs!
This was our first time using Boondockers Welcome. We couldn't have picked a better place for our first experience. They were very nice and super friendly. We where there to check out the area and surrounding areas. They had lots of great information for us. The kids loved seeing the goats and horses as well as playing with their super sweet dogs. Thank you.
Response was super fast and they greeted us when arrived and helped us with backing in (we r very new to towing )
The place is great and hosts are friendly and helpful plus there are cute dogs, horses and goats.
We had a great night sleep there
Thank you for everything :)
Fantastic hosts, fantastic place! My second Boondocking experience and it was great. The hosts were very accommodating and the place was super quiet and peaceful.
This was our first Boondockers Welcome experience.. We stayed 2 nights in their pasture without hookups. We enjoyed seeing their horses, chickens, goats. These hosts were very accommodating & flexible. We changed our dates to arrive & they made it work for us. Thank you so much for the visit and the great first time experience.
Had a long drive getting here but was quiet and peaceful. Had a little time to visit they are very nice people.
Quiet and perfect spot close to OKC and with the sweetest animals and people around. We had to change the dates of our stay due to numerous silly "bumps" along the way. DandS were so accommodating and speaking with them was a breathe of fresh air to hear about their lives and even of their animals. They are "superhosts" with BW for a reason. We hope you have safe travels and more stories to share with us.
Dave n Steph were really — honestly— the nicest hosts you could wish for. They set us up, let us use their water and 30A, and answered all of our questions. The dogs are SO sweet, especially Bella. Thank you!
Dave and Stephanie are the perfect hosts. They were very helpful getting us backed in and hooked up. They live in a nice quiet neighborhood with easy access to I 40.
We were extremely pleased with the hospitality given us by Dave and Steph. They have a lovely place and it was so nice parking on a paved pad with hook up for water and electricity. They are great hosts.
We loved this stopover. We were able to spend some time with this couple so they showed us around their farm. We shared traveling stories as well and just loved getting to know them. We would love to stay with them again should we be in that area. Easy access from I-40 as well.
Such welcoming hosts! They have lots of great travel stories. Even their dogs made us and our dog happy!
Thank you Dave and Stephen for making us feel at home in your beautiful country setting. You’re lovely folks and we wish we could have stayed a little longer!
Perfect hosts for overnight. The site is perfect - Water and Electric work great for us. Pretty easy to find roads are all manageable. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We pulled out early so didn't have a chance to say goodbye.
They came out to greet us upon arrival and tried to help us get backed into the driveway. Unfortunately our 5th wheel is very low in the back so it didn’t work out, we didn’t end up trying boards. They offered to let us stay in the pasture, but we weren’t sure if the electric there would be enough for the AC and it was hot. They were so kind to let the kids go visit the animals (they are animal lovers and they had been looking forward to it so much). They also directed us to a great campground nearby. We would absolutely recommend staying. We would have loved to have spent more time chatting with them. Thank you for your hospitality:)
Very nice stay and was made to feel very welcome. You are a master chef and the food was awesome.
Well what can I say about this lovely couple and their beautiful property?! DUKE and I loved it. The livestock they have running around are beautiful. I’ve personally have never been that close up to goats and horses to where they just come right up the the RV. Their driveway was occupied when I arrived as they were packing up for their own adventure but I gotta say I’m glad it was. Haha Walking out to be greeted by farm animals was a treat. Thank you so much for the great experience and hope to see you again one day. A must stay if in the area.
I had a lovely conversation with each of these hosts (6 feet apart). We shared several things in common and could have talked for hours. We were all being careful and respected each others personal space. I felt very safe and saw a variety of farm animals on my walk around the neighborhood.
This is very easy to get to from the interstate and on a dead end street making it quiet. I was met upon my arrival and my host helped me back in to a nice level spot offering me everything I needed. I very much enjoyed my visit and conversations. I was awakened to a rooster crowing that reminded of my early days. I highly recommend
I stayed in the driveway on a deadend street. It was so quiet, I got one of my best night's sleep while there. The hosts are most gracious and accomodating. I hope to visit again sometime.
What a great stay! Even though we were "social distancing" we had several nice conversations at many feet apart! Beautiful place on 5 acres is a mini-farm complete with horses, goats and dogs! My hosts were very kind and accommodating. Staying there was a pure pleasure.
We were only here for the night, but we had a great stay! Super nice people and very welcoming and helpful! They live on a beautiful piece of property overlooking a gorgeous pasture, and we had a nice and quiet evening. Would definitely recommend!
We were impressed by the people and the place. A really nice and welcoming couple. A wonderful place to stop and come back ... :-)
Wonderful hosts, terrific in every way. They made every effort to assure a pleasant accommodation. The location is very conveniently situated and yet has a terrific"country" feel. Upon departure had a close encounter with five deer.
This was a great place for us to stop for the night! It really was quiet and the hosts couldn’t be nicer!
It was a great stay with Dave n Steph, perfect driveway spot for my through trip, with a peaceful setting. Great stories!
Dave and Steph welcomed us on our arrival and made sure we had everything we needed to settle in. Very nice folks. They have a nice fenced in area for dogs as well. This is a nice, quiet spot.
These folks were just wonderful. Great communication before and during the stay, and help backing my 35’TT into their drive (I bottomed out a bit and they had blocks there to help make up the space difference which was really helpful). Very grateful for the water fill-up and the 30 Amp electric. My wife was doing company orientation in OKC and we enjoyed three very peaceful nights here in the country. Would recommend this spot to anyone traveling through the area.
We enjoyed sharing RV and life stories with these warm, welcoming folks and wish them safe travels. Thanks so much for having us!
Nice quiet stopover close to the interstate but in a quiet rural setting. Had a great nights rest, very nice host and was able to get in a hike before leaving the area. Mat
This was our first Boondockers welcome experience, Dave greeted us as we arrived and helped us park our class A and towed motorcycle for the first time! Stephanie came out and helped too! They offered up some fun sights to go see in Oklahoma City which we did that evening. Highly recommend :)
Wonderful 1st time boondocking experience! Would for sure stay with Dave and Steph again.
When we arrived they met us in the driveway waving and smiling. Right from the start we felt welcome.
We have a 32" Class C. Their driveway has a slight incline which required us to have boards to get up the driveway. We slowly but surely inched our way backing up the driveway moving our 1 x 6 boards one at a time. Dave jumped right in to help and Stephanie had a great idea to take off our hitch which helped too. This was definitely not their first rodeo. They were very helpful.
Chuck and I had the best time with Dave and Steph. We shared stories, laughed, drank wine and played some music for 3 hours. We found out Steph plays a little guitar so this was right up our alley. We offered her a guitar lesson and she did great! She learned to solo on the guitar and we even got Dave to play a drum head.
Our first night there was divine after all the noise pollution from the Cracker Barrel and Walmarts we had been staying at. It was so peaceful and we felt safe.
They offered 30 amp and water if we needed it. Plus let us stay for a few extra nights.
We really enjoyed just living in the moment and soaking up all their experiences and knowledge.
We hope to be able to come back again and /or have them meet us on the road somewhere.
Dave and Steph are genuine, real salt of the earth people. We made friends for a lifetime.
Thanks Dave and Steph!
Dave and Steph where great host very friendly ...very nice area, nice to sit out in the evening. Hope to stop by again
Our stay with Dave and Steph was lovely They have such a beautiful property and it was a very relaxing evening after a very stressful day on the road. Dave was very helpful in getting our awning stabilized after a day in the wind. They made us feel right at home.🥰
What a wonderful time we had and such generous kind folks. Feeling very grateful indeed.
Very nice people, parking area as advertised, I would recommend Dave N Steph to any boondocker that needs to stop in this area. Nice and quiet, out in the country. I had something come up and had to delay for one day, they graciously accommodated me and allowed me to come a day late. I will stop here again if on this same route.
We experienced the warmerst welcome. The spot is very quiet, and we had privacy as nice talks with our hosts. We can recommend this spot to any boondocker guest.
Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. They made our experience a great one. Our kids loved the animals. We felt very safe and secure at this location.
We received a warm welcome upon our arrival. Our guests met us outside and we immediately hit it off. They have an amazing property where you can park your RV on a level surface. Our hosts were beyond gracious allowing us to spend time with their beautiful animals and even had invited us over to enjoy some delicious burgers on the evening upon our arrival. We visited the Oklahoma City Memorial, Cattleman's Steak House and drove into Tulsa for a day. Would definitely love to stay again!
They are gracious hosts.
She help me back in to the spot & invited me in for a yummy dinner and dessert. Very grateful.
We stayed at the "Quiet Five" so that we could visit a friend in Norman. Turns out, we also made friends in Newalla as well!
Dave and Steph were beyond perfect hosts. They gave us space to ourselves, but also welcomed us to enjoy some time with their goats and a horse they were boarding. They also invited us to ride along with them to a diner in a nearby town that was one of those finds only the locals know about. Just wonderful.
We were also early on in our RV life so it was great to get some helpful tips from Dave and Steph's knowledge they've gained from their own adventures.
If we're ever coming through again we would not hesitate to stay here!
Dave and Steph are so incredibly wonderful! My rig is 25 years old so I’m often battling some funky issue— when arriving Dave tells me “you have a panel coming undone!” Sure enough a back storage compartment had a seam rust out and the weight of the firewood in it had sunk the support. Never fear! The next day both Dave and Steph helped me fix the issue. Never would have expected that kind of help!
Beyond them being caring they have great stories and are so fun to chat with!
Beyond them being caring and fun to chat with their animals are friendly and their land pretty!
Beyond that... ok, I’ll stop but I could go on.
Another one of those road moments keeping the faith in humanity alive!
My husband and I were traveling with our dog through Oklahoma City and were able to park our 26 foot travel trailer on the family’s pasture. The hosts did an excellent job of making us feel at home, helped us park, hook up to their water and electric and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The animals on the farm loved coming up to us to say hello and made the visit extra special. We hope we can stay here again one day and would highly recommend this for a stopover point or an extended stay.
We were 2 days late but so worth all it took to get us there. Thank you for being patient with our delays. Always enjoy seeing you both. Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality. We are grateful to get to know you a little more each time.
Wonderful place to stay. Very welcoming hosts. Helped guide us as we backed in since it was dark when we got there. Had water and power available. Would definitely stay again if we needed to!
Stephanie and Dave were great hosts. Their location is easy to find, close to the highway although remote, safe and quiet. The parking space was wide, on concrete and leveled. Ideal for one night.
Our quick but too short discussion was nice and I wished we could have shared more stories and experiences.
Dave and steph were very welcoming and helped us into our spot. We visited a bit outside and then after we each had our dinner we spent an enjoyable time at a local ice cream shop where we learned more about each other past, present, and future. Their mini-farm is far enough off the path and on a dead end road that it's super quiet yet close enough to OK City that we got 37 OTA TV channels. And just a short 5 minute drive to get back on I40 the next day. Wonderful hosts made us feel right at home, wed love to meet them on the road sometime soon.
The hosts are some of the nicest folks you can imagine, and their land is beautiful. Highly recommended!
Easy access, very nice people. If they wanted to adopt me, I’d be all for it.
Our first Boondockers experience couldn't have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful. We spent one very comfortable night at the "Quiet Five" in our 26' trailer and enjoyed meeting our hosts and their animal friends. They're not only hosts but also travelers and Boondockers themselves. Thank you for a safe and comfortable night!
Dave N Steph could not have been nicer, more flexible, or more supportive and awesome.
As our first BW stay, they set the bar wonderfully high and are genuinely incredible people.
Their kindness was immense and they were so understanding about us getting in late because of traffic delays on our trip.
They helped us hook up to power and water and even let us use their pressure regulator and gave us some helpful rv and travel life tips.
Highly, highly recommended - they are wonderful folks and their home and yard are beautiful.
Stephanie and Dave are very welcoming to their “mini farm” and home. There’s a spot on the driveway for fellow boondockers with water and electricity provided. Besides a great place to stay, Stephanie and Dave are a fun, interesting couple. We ended up doing things together increasing the enjoyment of our visit. We encourage all to visit.
Dave and Stephanie were so welcoming and helped us with travel information. They provided a comfortable place for us to rest and prepare for a long drive home. We hope to see them in GA one day.
We did have very good memory's of our stay at Stephanie and Dave's place. They turned out to be very nice and helpfull people. I had backproblems and Steph had some good excercises that were really helpfull during the rest of our first trip through the U.S.
A wonderful experience. Called in am for an overnight stay same night. She told us come on. Stayed in drive, had water and electric available. Only needed a little water in tank. Nice quiet neighborhood, even slept in. Host was the most. Thank you again, when we are in area again, we will stay a couple days and prepare an eastern NC meal. Happy trails!
Dave n Steph were the best hosts ever. They were so wonderful to our family (me, wife, niece, and little girl). Our little one, Lily, got to feed horses, pet goats, and chase chickens, on their beautiful little farm. We shared dinner and convo with Dave and Steph two out of our three nights with them. They told us stories and gave us tips on what to see in OKC. We hope to see them againsoon and keep in touch until then.
After a long ride we were very happy to stretch our legs at Dave and Stephany's nice and peacefull place.
Warm people and good storytellers!
We keep good memories from that evening.
Great people. Loved spending time with them. Wish we had more reason to pass their way.
We came in the pouring rain and was greeted warmly by Steph at the gate. The location was right off I-40 which made it super convenient during our travel towards the Grand Canyon. Nice spot near the fence and house with water and electric hookup, couldn't ask for more! My kids enjoyed the horses and goat on the property so overall a perfect experience!
Had a great visit, welcoming couple. Enjoyed the horses.
Stayed in the pasture. It was perfect!
Highly recommend.
Dave and Steph were fantastic hosts, so welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. We talked and laughed into the wee small hours. It was a shame our plans meant we could only spend one night with them - would love to have stayed longer. The site is very quiet and peaceful and close enough to Oklahoma City for sightseeing.
Thanks so much for having allowed me to visit your beautiful property. Wish I could have spent more time.
Kind and very hospitable! We really enjoyed getting to know them! Love animals and were patient with our cats, especially Daisy the dog! Very knowledgeable with RVs - we learned a lot! A very memorable 1st BDW experience. We hope to come in contact with them again soon!
Peaceful, bucolic area near OKC. Very hospitable couple who love animals. We had so much in common with them. We where given a choice on where to park our 32ft class A: driveway or mowed field of grass. Chose the 5 acre field with some chickens and 2 goats. The animals were curious, but did not bother us (added to the fun) . Loved it. Really did not need to unhook our toad. Hope to see them(+ their boxer Daisy) again soon in the NorthWest. J n K
We arrived in the early afternoon with a friendly warm welcome! We visited and shared stories until the early evening. We really enjoyed our visit! Thank You for hosting our family!
Dave n Steph were such wonderful hosts. We enjoyed our time together and got to meet the goats also. With the electric provided I was able to stat warm. Thanks again, Jim G.
Meant to send this already... sorry for the delay. You were awesome! We loved this stop... It was the first time we were hosted and it has spoiled us for everyone else... not complaining! Thank you thank you thank you! You're definitely our favorite so far. Friendly, warm, considerate, accommodating, kind... are there more adjectives? You both are worth them all. Thank you. In case we weren't clear, we do recommend these hosts as a must stop... go out of your way even, just for the privilege of meeting them.
Easy access from I-40, and we parked in the pasture behind the house. 20 amp hookup was right at the fence, and water was available (but we didn't need it). A horse and 5 goats had access to the pasture and were curious about our presence, but kept their distance. Dave n Steph were warm and welcoming, and we spent the evening talking and sharing life stories. We wouldn't hesitate to stop in again if we are in the area.
