Simone 27 and Josh 29 years. Leaving the corporate working world behind in Australia to tour US and Canada in an RV for 6 months. We love the outdoors, hiking, fitness, meeting people, sharing stories and having a chat and laugh.
Check out us and our travels so far on Instagram @theycomefromavandownunder
We are driving a rented 2018 Ford Thor 25 foot. We are very self sufficient - spend our days out exploring and have not once used our generator!
Late review, sorry. Delightful guests. Welcome them back anytime.
A fun couple doing what many of us never had the opportunity to do while we were young. Congratulations on stepping out on your wonderful adventure. We throughly enjoyed your visit.
Some great stories from our Australian friends! Very friendly campers and didn't even need a power cord. Safe Travels!
Vandownunder were very thoughtful guests, keeping us informed about their arrival time, especially since their dates changed because of weather conditions where they were. They were quiet and took the time to visit before leaving, sharing information about their extensive travels and their home base in Australia. Would welcome them back anytime.
Enjoyed having vandownunder stay with us for the night. Delightful couple on an adventure of our great country! Would welcome them back anytime and encourage others to accept a stay request from them. We barely even knew they were here.
Even though we didn’t get a chance to meet this couple, through our communication we recognized they were a lovely, respectful couple, enjoying America!
We certainly hope to see them come through again. They are welcome anytime!
Josh & Simone were a polite & nice couple. Had some great conversations about travel & what to see & do:-) Always Welcome Back!
I really enjoyed my visit with them. If you get a chance to host I recommend hosting them. I was sad I didn't have more time to visit.
Sweet couple, enjoying their time in the states, glad they picked our area to visit!
Very courteous and friendly.
Storms came in last night so I opened my garage and had them drive their RV in to protect it from the hail storm that came thru.
Welcome back anytime 😎👍
They stayed while I was gone but figure must be nic folks and hope they enjoyed place
It was a wonderful experience to host this warm and delightful couple that hail from the great country down under, Australia. We lived in Australia back in the early 80's so we are always interested in meeting anyone from there. We have always considered Australia our second home.
We spent the evening chatting at length about our shared interest in traveling. Toward the end of the night they taught us how to play an Aussie card game. The evening ended much too quickly.
Vandownunder are quiet and respectful guests. They are welcome back here anytime. Hopefully we will see each other again. Who knows, maybe we will be knocking on their door one day in Australia.
what a great stay with us... got to kayak to the manatees, a long evening walk, campfire sit with other Bdockers guests and enjoy a dinner with them and 4 other friends... great conversations on all subjects.. they loved the fact that we do not eat our national symbol, bald eagle, like they do, the kangaroo!!
We had a great time with the vandownunder folks. They joined us for square dancing here at the house and at our regular weekly club dance. They are quick learners and everyone enjoyed meeting them. Welcome back at any time.
We didn't get to meet in person, but it was a pleasure to host them as they explore our great country. They are welcome to stay at the 20 acre wood anytime.
What an amazing young couple. These two are “living the dream” Very good guests, respectful and quiet. Awesome travel stories and we got to try Vegemite and it was good.
They are so cute and charming! They have planned very well for their 6-month adventure in our country. Delighted to have met them, and we wish them all the best on their grand tour!
We both wish we had had more time to visit with this interesting couple, but we did manage one evening one the dock talking and enjoying the wine they brought. They would be welcome back any time.
Vandownunder are the nicest young couple. They were exceptionally respectful of our location and were very communicative; they arrived timely and were a pleasure to Host. It is refreshing to meet such terriffic young adventurers - no doubt they will travel far in their lives with such a positive outlook. We would welcome them again should they travel our way!
So when you get a stay request FromAVanDownUnder, you have to stop and wonder! It was really great to be a part of Josh and Simone's travelling adventure as they make their way through the U.S. and Canada. We had wonderful conversation with this young couple and gained a lot of insight into RVing as well as life down under. Our sons appreciated Josh showing them a drone--now they have a new item for Santa to come through on! We plan to follow their travels and will enjoy hearing about their takeaways.
It was so much fun getting to meet Josh and Simone. They were friendly and we would welcome them back anytime. It is nice to have guests who appreciate your place as much as you do!
Simone and Josh were delightful guests. They treated us with respect and kindness, and we enjoyed their company. We would very much welcome them back to stay with us again. Glad to have met them and we wish them well on their next adventure.
Really enjoyed meeting Josh and Simone. Their sense of adventure and taking in new experiences is inspirational; I can’t wait to do the same when I retire! These two volunteered their time at St. Mary’s food bank while they were here in Phoenix—super cool. If ever in Brisbane, I’ll be sure to look them up. 😃
Josh and Simone were wonderful guests! Communicated well, arrived and left as planned, very friendly!! They were completely silent during their visit so besides the obvious RV I hardly noticed them after our first lovely chat. I would highly recommend them to any host!
