Hi my daughter and I own a local pet store Wings Wags and Whiskers. I am also a polymer chemist full time as my day job. I have wanted to do the RV full time thing but now is not the time. I recently read Nomadland and realized that being off route 66 and having a driveway I could most likely meet some friends and help people out.
Knitting, raising rabbits, spinning wool, sewing, cooking, and pet nutrition and health. Turning my backyard into a bee paradise and growing sustainable food sources for the rabbits and birds. I have started dyeing my own yarn and selling on live sales on Facebook for fun. When I have time I like quilting as well
Yes dogs, cats, birds, rabbits. We constantly are hand feeding birds at home or rehabbing parrots. Recently we got two Flemish giant rabbits. They are like the great Dane of rabbits. When I travel my Brussels griffon is my Velcro dog.
My future ones will be Santa Barbara coast panhandle of Florida southern Colorado Missouri Ozarks. And maybe overseas if I get gutsy enough to drive on wrong side of road and ship an RV
Amarillo Texas nowadays. Originally from St Louis Mo. I still miss my hometown foods!

Steph is a great host. Nice shaded driveway next to grass for the dogs. Power & water available, close to some really nice dog parks! Will be staying again!
Very friendly, helpful host with a level driveway and 30 amp service. Easy access to the freeway.
The host was nice and we appreciated the electricity and water.
Great Host, too bad didn't have time to visit and chat very much or check out all her Rabbits and other critters. Hooked up to 30amp power.
Convenient Location with a good laundromat down the block.
Hopefully I can pay it back or forward. Thanks for the hospitality.
I had a very pleasant stay. Easy access from the highway. Very pleasant host. Very relaxing environment. Just what I needed after a hectic drive.
Thank you Stephanie for a wonderful stay, your quiet neighborhood was just what I needed!
A great stop with friendly hospitality! I did I t get to spend much time on my quick stopover before a long haul home, but I will definitely be back to stay again!
Our first time boondocking and it was an absolute pleasure. We look forward to another stop in the future.
This is our second visit with Steph. She has a great parking space in a quiet neighborhood. Steph is a wonderful host.
Steph was responsive and flexible with our travel schedule. We got caught in a severe thunderstorm which pushed back our ETA but it wasn’t a problem as to when we finally arrived. Backing in was easy considering the street is very wide and the drive is straight with a slight incline. We slept so well and we appreciate your place for us to boondock for a night! We hope to cross paths in the future. God bless!
Great experience. Host was very responsive via text even though she wasn't home. 30A hookup was nice and convenient, and we were able to top off our fresh water tank.
We made a quick overnight stay with Stephyinamarillo. We were there to drop off our rig for repairs. We were warmly and happily greeted when we arrived. Steph attended to our needs, made sure we felt welcome - which we did - and then left us to turn in early and leave early. Another perfect Boondockers stay!! Thank you, Steph, for understanding our being so focused on the task on hand. See you again. Susan and Ed and Finn
Stephyinamarillo was a great host with prompt communication throughout. Her driveway is spacious and in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to major freeways. I was making my way from Austin, TX to WY and was a perfect place to stay the night and rest well before hitting the road. Thank you for your hospitality Stephyinamarillo, until we meet again!
Had a very quiet night on a flat driveway in a well maintained neighborhood. Access from the interstate was simple and on very wide streets. Took a walk around the neighborhood after our arrival and was very impressed by the number of beautiful landscaped yards. Highly recommended place to stay. Gracious host!
This was an easy off and on via I40... our host was so friendly and did everything possible to make our quick stay enjoyable... we appreciated everything and wished we could have stayed longer! Highly recommend a stop here😊
I had the pleasure of being this host’s first return guest. Great place to stop while traveling through the Texas Panhandle. Electricity and water made for a comfortable sleep. Thank you once again for your hospitality, and an easy stop over while traveling.
Thanks again for a safe stay. We appreciated it very much
Great host very friendly and accommodating will stay again when heading this way!
Amarillo was the perfect midpoint between Austin and Denver. Not too far off the highway, offers a very nice 30amp hook up. Stephanie was very nice and outgoing, I felt bad I could have stayed longer!
Loved staying at Stephys place!. Great place for the night, Step by told us about "Cadillac Ranch" which was an awesome experience!. Thank you Step for your kindness and hospitality!
My host was very kind and gracious. Communication was great all along. The location is an easy, short drive off the freeway . The spot on the driveway was easy to maneuver, would be quite long enough for most rigs. Watch out for the low hanging pine tree branches!
Thank you!
Great BW host just miscommunication so we decided to change plans. Definitely will stop if in area.
We met the host briefly when we arrived and she was very nice and welcoming! We are still socially distancing as much as possible, so we continued our conversation via the BW thread. She recommended a couple of local places to try while we were in town. This is a nice quiet, driveway spot and it was easy to back our 27ft TT into. We only stayed one night, but we were very appreciative of the spot and a good night’s sleep as we continued our journey the next morning.
Our motorhome didn’t fit up the incline of the driveway, but we were able to stay in front on the street without any issues. I could have stayed with Stephy for a month...she was so inviting and interesting, right up my alley with mutual interests! Thanks to her, we learned about some local places to visit in Amarillo, including Palo Duro canyon where we stayed next, This was our first encounter with Boondockers Welcome, and she sure made us feel welcome.
Only an overnighter but another good peaceful night sleep. Very easy to get off I 40. Visit with my host was brief but a great conversation. She is a very enthusiastic person and inspiring to talk with. Highly recommend.
Friendly host that practiced social distancing.
Stephy was very generous with offers of last minute things I might need in order to make my stay comfortable. Located in an easy to find quiet neighborhood. I hope to visit this location again soon.
Stephy was great. When we pulled up she came out and showed us where to park. I parked the car and dolly on the street and pulled the rig into the driveway with no problem. Stellar really enjoyed playing with her granddaughter and Nova fell in love with the bunnies. It was quiet, safe, and comfortable. Thank you Stephy.. we'll be back someday i'm sure :)
Friendly host, and very responsive via e-mail/text. We're all #socialdistancing so we did not get to meet. Easy to find location in suburban neighborhood. Quiet.
I enjoyed my stay, and would recommend.
Very gracious host made us feel so welcome. We were met us outside and were guided into a big driveway with electric hookup. Had a nice chat about current events and travel. It was so nice to have a safe place to stay during our travels. We can’t thank you enough and hope we can visit again soon.
We sure would have enjoyed meeting our host, but understand when work calls....we were comfortable and warm and it was quiet and dark. That was all we needed.
We enjoyed our stay. The driveway was nice and flat and plenty of room to back in. Bonus was a RV electrical outlet. Easy to find the house and nice quiet neighborhood. Our hostess met us as she returned from work and we visited in our trailer and shared stories about our mutual home town of St. Louis. Thank you for a great and welcoming stay.
We were unable to make it on time to this host. And she is gracious enough to help us change the dates and fix things and without her compassion and consideration we would have been unable to stay at Amarillo. I'm looking very forward to meeting her as she has been nothing but a pleasure on messages.
What a fantastic experience for our first time using Boondockers Welcome! Our host, Stephyinamarillo, was extremely gracious and welcoming, providing us with a clean and level parking spot in her driveway and a 30 amp electrical hookup. She gave us excellent recommendations about businesses in Amarillo, and suggested parks we could visit to walk and exercise our dog. Thank you, Stephyinamarillo, for your hospitality and kindness!
The place is within a mile from the main road and shops but we had a very quiet night. Short nice talkings and in the evening we had coffee and chocolate with the girl who lived there for study. It was very pleasant and hope he come back once.
Thanks for having us

Great host, great location, more than interesting and knowledgeable. This host is a knitter but more she raises angora bunnies, clips their hair, cards the wool, spins and dyes the yarn then she knits. Very interesting process to see. I even got to help out a bit with the bunnies at feeding time.
I admit I am always skeptical about staying in someone’s driveway. Nothing to be concerned about here! The driveway was long enough that we didn’t have to disconnect our truck. The driveway was flat enough that we didn’t have to jack up any of our wheels. The hosts were friendly and fun to talk to. But also respected our privacy. Host also recommended a book that I enjoyed immensely. I would DEFINITELY be happy to stay again if we are in the area!
Stephy was so nice to open up her home to us and give us a nice, safe place to park overnight! She was so generous to let us use her 30amp plug so we could run the AC for our animals while we explored Amarillo :) Stephy and her daughter have an awesome group of rescue animals, each of which has their own story. We LOVED getting to know Stephy, her daughter, and all their animals. Their neighborhood was a wonderful place to take our dog for a long walk. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great stay with good people in Amarillo!! Thank you again for having us!!
What more can you ask ? Great reception with a nice smile and beautiful expression of « la joie de vivre ». After a day of driving, this is perfect. Love the place, in a secure neighbourhood.
We stayed for two nights passing through West. The spot was close to the I40, flat and very quiet! Steph communicated well to get us set up, gave us lots of local tips and we had a lovely chat about all things travel and pets. Thanks again!
Much appreciate your arranging such pleasant weather for our overnight. You and the family were extremely helpful and made our stay one of the best. We really needed a good night's quiet stay and you made it happen. Our only regret is those birds and their new $220 million new nest. Go Cubs!
Had a nice visit before setting up for the night. Would love to stay here again in the future.
Stephanie is a friendly and gracious host. Communication prior to our arrival was great. She has a long, fairly level driveway that was perfect for our camper van and our one-night stay. There is a Planet Fitness and other great amenities (e.g., inexpensive gasoline!) within a 5-minute drive of her house. We hope to get the opportunity to stay with Stephanie again!
