We had a wonderful if somewhat brief stay at Bears on Fence. We arrived a little later than we would have liked but we were able to find it and get setup really quickly. Our hosts joined us in the morning and gave us several useful tips on where to go in Yellowstone and also, the surrounding area that would likely be cheaper and less touristy! Highly recommended!
This was our first experience using Boondockers Welcome and we absolutely loved it! The hosts were kind and knowledgeable, the surroundings peaceful, and the overall experience a delightful way to close out our vacation. We particularly appreciated the information our hosts provided on local sights of interest as well as a tip on a more scenic route home than we had originally planned. Thank you, Kayakin!
We were greeted by our hosts and given some yummy cookies when we arrived. They had a useful package of visitor brochures for the area on the picnic table.
Great location not far from the highway, but no road noise. A tranquil set up for visitors, they even had local info handy if needed. Would love to stay again someday. Thank you so much for your hospitality!
Directions were great, the site was level and easy to park at with a cute little picnic table! We stayed for two nights and visited with the hosts the morning of our departure. Great conversation, kind folks, and full of good advice about retiring! We loved it and are very grateful. Thank you!!!
Absolutely enjoyed our stay. Gracious hosts. Beautiful location close to all the towns. Quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend. Thank you again.
Very nice couple, great quiet spot to stay off the highway. We appreciated them letting us fill the fresh tank before we parked!
This was our second stay with Kayakin, and if they’ll have us, we’ll be back! They’re well travelled RV wise and camp host at National Parks including Death Valley NP in the winter. We always enjoy our boondocking adventure chats; they are both fonts of knowledge!
Our hosts were very nice and welcoming. They are knowledgeable, well traveled and full of interesting facts. Highly recommend.
We had a pleasant overnight at this property. Kayakin welcomed us and we appreciated the hospitality. The greeting from their dog Molly was an added bonus!
We would stay again.
We parked our camper van on a level spot and Mike rolled out his 100ft extension cord so our fridge stayed cold (as did we because on the 97 degree day, the A/C was essential).
And it's no wonder Bonnie and Mike are considered Superhosts. We had an interesting chat on their front porch, our pooch cavorted with Molly, their dog.
And to go out off, Bonnie baked us a luscious loaf of zucchini bread.
If we're in the area, we'd certainly stay again.
This was our first Boondockers visit since rejoining and was way beyond our expectations. Our hosts were gracious and offered helpful info about the area —they even compiled a packet full of information and brochures of area attractions. We enjoyed the peaceful setting and had a pleasant visit.
We had a terrific night stay at bears on offence. Bonnie and Michael were terrific hosts. Including Molly, their Labrador! Really enjoyed the conversation over a beer and some cool water as the hot day was coming to an end.
Hugo, our golden retriever loved rolling in their lush grass enjoyed meeting the next door animals.
Strongly encourage a stop and visit with Bonnie and Michael. Lovely people with lots of camper and national park experience.
Very nice couple, helped us get settled, and enjoyed visiting with them very much. We found we had several things in common and enjoyed our visit.
Hosts shared their wealth of knowledge and love of Montana. Bears on Fence was an easy, comfortable and beautifully put together place. We have met so many wonderful people through BW and this couple are at the top of the list!
What a lovely location & host. The fragrance of the pines, local sound cloud of chickens, sheep & birds. Graciously welcomed by Kayakin & her black lab, Molly. She gave me great directions & location ideas for the next steps to Glacier. Nothing like a local who is familiar with location & the road. Rhodie & I have enjoyed our sweet respite here. There was some concern by others re the dirt/gravel road- absolutely no issue. We would love to come back. 10 out of 10 for BW location😎🚌🐾❤️
Wonderful piece of property and gracious hosts! As others have said, watch for the first ditch as you turn in but otherwise very easy!
We had the best time here and our hosts were absolutely amazing! B greeted us and helped us setup our electric hookup, as well as provided us with some potable water for our stay. She also provided a nice packet of information which we referenced to find things to do in the area. We slept well both nights, and the second day she even brought over some fresh, homemade bread. We enjoyed talking with both of them about Glacier National Park, the area’s attractions and more. Note- the entrance of their neighborhood is bumpy and narrow, but if you go slow and follow the instructions they provide you should have no problem.
Very nice stay. The hosts were very helpful and informative. The short section of dirt road to reach their place was pretty rough, though completely doable - other than that, a great location.
Kayaking is great couple, interesting stories and good travel tips. As soon as we arrived, we joined them at local brewpub to get to know each other.
They set us up on a nice spot with a 20 amp power cord. On our second night, an invitation to sit by the fire and chat. Tremendously enjoyable.
When we weren’t visiting with them, they left us alone. We did respect each other’s privacy. We would stay there again if in area, and would be glad to host them.
Pleasant helpful hosts.
Plenty of flat parking. Easy to find. Close to highway 93.
Our dogs got along nicely.
Road in ok but has a culvert right at start that might be an issue for long units with low clearance. My 26 ft w hydraulic jacks cleared it...but probably not by much.
Dusty parking and you have to like neighbor’s chickens.
Kayakin were gracious hosts, with a great spot with room to choose sun or shade. It’s located minutes from Stevensville and only 30 minutes from Missoula. Our hosts invited us to a lovely dinner and we talked about our respective experiences on the road. Great people; we were sorry to say goodbye, but we’re sure to cross paths again!
We contacted our hosts very last minute after a long day and a change of plans of where we had planned to stay. They responded quickly and we were about 1 mile from their road when I got the message, it was so awesome. After a short drive to their lovely home and property, we drove in and met them. Chatting easily about this and that we soon were directed to our spot for the night, after filling our rig with water which we really needed. We were invited to coffee at 8 am the next morning which was very thoughtful and sweet of our hosts.
After a peaceful and quiet nights rest we went in and had yummy fresh baked blueberry muffins with great coffee and continued our conversation. We found we had much in common, they even knew our friends in the valley we were meeting later that day, small world. They gave us good travel information as they are seasoned campers, much more than us, but what we want to someday be. We parted an hour or so later heading to our friend's house with the invitation to come back for a second night if our accommodations there didn't work out.
Very nice, helpful couple. We wish them well and hope to see them again on our next trip up to their neck of the woods. Thank you for a lovely time Kayakin !
