My wife, 10 yr. old daughter, and myself are on a 1 year excursion around the USA to check out our National Parks and whatever other fun things we find. We started in Aug.2019. My wife and I are both 45 yr. old and are partially working while on the road.
hmm... I can help with just about anything. I am able bodied and am willing to help on just about anything. I have some knowledge about electrical stuff and do work on the trailer.
We do have 2 cats but they are indoor cats only

Can't remember the name of it but 3 miles North of Farmington, NM is a BLM campground (Free)
We still haven't boondocked much but we used to dry camp a lot in the Gifford Pinchot Forest in Southwest Washington too

Covid-19 has made our lives a little unsettled, so hosting a nice family for the evening was a pleasure. They got a bit of a tour, played with the dogs, and chickens. Self contained and quiet. They are welcome back any time.
We enjoyed meeting takingthelongwayhome. Welcome back at any time.
Great to see a family getting out there to experience the country.
They are all very considerate & polite.
I shared some good conversations and enjoyed their company.
They are welcome to come back any time they like.
Such a wonderful family (and cool cats!). We truly enjoyed getting to know them and learn about their year on the road visiting the national parks. We look forward to visiting them in the future!
We were happy to host takingthelongwayhome. Didn't see them much, they were quiet and respectful. Would love to host again!
Communication was excellent and the host went out of her way to make sure we had whatever was needed. But the frosting on the cake (literally) was those delicious cupcakes!! Thanks so much!
The Couv is a nice well shaded residential area not too far from downtown Portland (~20min w/o traffic)
The family is friendly, communicative and welcoming. We appreciate all the recommendations during our Portland visit.
We stayed for 2 nights; felt safe, and comfortable. Would
Recommend staying here.
We really enjoyed our time visiting with our hosts at The 'Couv. Their location is very relaxing and we took advantage of their recommendations for places to go in Vancouver.
We would definitely try to return of we're in the area again!
I had a great time staying at their home. Water and shore power was offered. They were very kind and hospitable
Takingthelongwayhome could not have been more kind and hospitable. They offered me water/power for my RV and gave me some great recommendations for places to visit.
I was having issues with my brand new camper and was greeted so warmly and allowed to stay while working out the kinks - this is a lovely neighborhood! Peaceful and full of friendly neighbors. We enjoyed a fun evening too with the propane fire pit and great conversation…thank you for your generosity!
What an incredible stay. Our hosts were beyond accommodating and kind throughout our visit and we felt very safe and comfortable here. Really great location and it allowed us to walk to town and enjoy the restaurants. We can’t say enough how wonderful this is was and we are so happy to have made some new friends! This was by far our best boondockers welcome experience and we are looking forward to visiting again. Thank you!
This was our second visit. We're so grateful for the restful stay in such a lovely neighborhood. We didn't need to level and appreciated the kind offer of water and the extension cord to keep our batteries charged.
We’ve had a lot of great stays while using boondockers welcomed but staying at the ‘Couv was one of our favorite stays yet. The area is great and the hosts are even better! Hope to cross paths with them again some day
Loved staying here for a few days! Had the driveway to myself and plenty of room for my rig. The neighborhood is very nice and within walking distance to downtown Vancouver for coffee, food, and other things. Short distance to Portland if you needed something there! Felt very safe staying here and the family made sure I didn’t need anything! Overall a great experience at the ‘Couv
The hosts are kind and welcoming, and their driveway was perfect for our class B and second car. The location is perfect for getting around the area and I'm in love with the neighborhood. Many heartfelt thanks to our hosts.
Very kind and responsive hosts with a lovely house, minutes from downtown Portland. They were accommodating for my last minute request and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable during our stay. Absolutely would recommend and can’t wait to stay again!
