Full-timer, New to Boon-Docking

Do you know or have you hosted this user?

I am a solo traveler with a 22' Hi-Lo towed by a 2009 Chevy Silverado. I have been traveling in the Plains States after starting to Full-Time in June 2013. My plan is to work at Amazon for the fall months each year and workamp at different locations in the summers while traveling the spring and fall months. I believe that boon-docking and some volunteer short-term positions will help with expenses.

That is my first motivator, the second is more personal- it is the people I meet. One of my favorite parts of full-timing is the great people I meet and their great stories. If I can add that opportunity to be of service to someone then it is a doubly positive experience in my book.

I would love to find out more about you and your life story. I find them all interesting and enlightening. If you need a hand for a day or a few, that is okay too. I am open to new experiences and am willing to learn.

Skills & Expertise to Share

I have worked as Shift Manager at McDonald's, warehouse associate, warehouse logistics, medical records (HIPAA/confidentiality is a normal for me after all these experiences), cashier at numerous locations, assembly, telephone technical support for a major computer company, medical receptionist, inspector for manufacturing factories and delivery driver. I have trained as an RV repair person, and am completing my AA of Liberal Arts.

Favorite Boondocking Locations

My favorite places to travel to, so far, are South Dakota, I love the Custer area, and Daytona Beach, Florida. A bit far apart for quick trips but when you allow three months or so to get from one to the other, best of both worlds! Have you climbed to the top of Ponce de Leon Lighthouse? It is so worth it. And then you have to take the volkswalk to the face of Crazy Horse. Those are my two favorite climbs to date, almost as great is Seven Falls in Colorado Springs. I am looking for more.

KansasSue's Rig

2009 Silverado 1/2 ton, pulling a 1988 22' Hi-Lo Funchaser. Still shopping for an upgraded travel trailer, this one will do for the learning curve part of full-timing. It is actually getting to be a bit customized since I want a few of the newer amenities. I would like to remove the decals and get it polished up a bit so that I can actually have it painted with a mural or some custom art-work. Just thinking here.... It is a beige so thinking its base color can be spruced up for a sea and sand/beach theme. I don't have slide outs but my top lifts and lowers so it means my mural is top half only.
