The husband is retired, or maybe just tired. The wife still works when they are home in Central Oregon and putters around the yard in her flower beds. We love to travel about the country, would love to travel by RV to Alaska but may never get around to it. We try to travel around the SW during the winter months, staying mostly in Thousand Trails. We have gotten into geocaching and have traveled about letting that guide our route at times.
The wife doesn't particularly like to cook but can do it, the husband nor wife have no particular skills though the husband makes a fairly good handy man.
Between pets at this time but plan to get another small dog soon.
Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, AZ and dry camping away from civilization in Nevada.
We have a 2003 National RV, Tradewinds, 37 foot with 2 slides, both on the drivers side. We tow a Ford Explorer.
Sweating bullets, all the local parks filled due to the eclipse, local parking lots filled with RV's with no where to stay. HighDesertTravelers took us in....Let us park on the street in front so we didn't have to even unhook our car. We got to sit in the back yard for some pleasant conversations and our old desert dingo could wiggle on the green grass and sniff to his heart's content...(no green grass at our desert hide out!) Didn't need to hook up because as soon as the sun went down the temp dropped to a nice sleeping range. Thanks guys for the pointers on the road north, we could have ended up in North Dakota!!!! Yikes!!!
HighDesertTravelers answered our mail imiddiatly and even ofered to pick us from the Redmond Airport as we arrived by flight from Toronto. They were our first summer 2017 stop and they helped us get ready to get on the road including recommending a place to serve thr truck and give us a ride to and back from the garage. We enjoyed every minute with them, hope to see them again. The are GOOD PEOPLE.
Tony and I loved these two wonderful people. They were very helpful in so many ways. We felt very welcome camping in their yard and our pups enjoyed romping in the fenced in yard. We hope to stay friends and see them again in Redmond or on the road. Happy Trails to you both.
Our request was answered promptly, and we were made very welcome. We had a quiet night in nice location.
