We have been enjoying our Minnie Wiinie for three years and have decided to become BW hosts to let others enjoy our little piece of heaven. It's just the two of us at home now.... and the dogs.
2020 Update: Sold our Minnie Winnie and upgraded to a Class A 32' Vista.
We have a cocker / sheltie mix, who is about 9 yrs old. Pete likes people, and loves going in the RV. We also have a little white fluffy dog named Oscar who is 2 years old.
Haven't been a guest, yet.
Hoping to try it out soon.
Rome, Ohio is a small town in Ashtabula county. There are actually 2 Rome Townships in Ohio, so look for zip code 44085. The 43 mile long Western Reserve Greenway Trail is just a mile down the road. Bring your bikes, walking shoes and camera. The Grand River Valley wine country is about 15 minutes away. Ashtabula county has approximately 25 wineries. Lake Erie is 30 minutes north with Geneva on the Lake as the summer tourist spot. Ashtabula county is also home to 19 covered bridges.
2019 Winnebago Vista 32YE
This is the second time we have stayed at this spot. The hosts were on the road this stay. This time we just did an overnight on the hook, took a walk down by the lake and spent a peaceful night.
Thanks guys !!!
Let me say right upfront... this was my best ever, most enjoyable boondock ever! This place and the lovely host couple were wonderful. Quiet, shaded, relaxing, friendly. They provided info about places to go and see, which was very thoughtful and helpful. Hope to go visit them again!
We had a wonderful time! Rome is a great location with nice, friendly folks. Just were gone for most of our stay but provided electricity, water, and even had sewage hookup! When we finally meet them they were just so friendly and gave us advice on things to do and see. She even explained about their property (use to be a farm and they have the original home built in the 1800’s!). They even said we could use their fire pit but unfortunately didn’t get around to enjoying that. Definitely would stay again. Hope y’all have a good time on your adventure. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality! Our son says he LOVED your rock pile😄
We had such a nice, peaceful 3 night stay here. We enjoyed the campfire- just chatting with them and the neighbors. The area was great for a nice walk and bike ride and saw a deer and a skunk! Jim and Susie both were great in helping us navigate in and out. Would definitely stay again. We travel in 38 ft fifth wheel
This is a fabulous BDW! Very welcoming and friendly couple. Unfortunately, due to covid we didn't get to spend much time with them but we did a little social distancing around the fire pit one night! Easy parking, great hookups. Thank you both so very much for accommodating us during our stay. Hope to see you in AZ!
Awesome hosts!! Beautiful property and FHU!! We stayed 2 nights. They had a campfire one night we were also invited to. We will definitely use them again if driving through..Highly recommend!!!
Jim and Susie where great. They invited us to join them at their campfire and shared refreshments with us. We would recommend them highly. Rode our bikes around the lakeside community.
A truly gracious host couple. They made our first BW experience a complete success.
Our hosts were wonderful and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay. It was very easy to get in and out of the spot. We did have to back out but it was a straight back up which was easy even for our 35 ft fifth wheel. There's a pretty lake nearby. We would stay here again.
Great hosts. Warm welcome, helped us park and hook up. Easy in, easy out. Pleasant lakeside walks available. Friendly dogs.
No number on the house, number on mailbox.
We were warmly welcomed, guided to the site by host. Unfortunately we didn't have much visiting time, hopefully next trip.
Site was as described plus it had plenty of maneuvering room, a boon to novices like us.
Our host guided us into our perfect spot and was so welcoming along with her 2 sweet dogs. Never got to meet husband as he was working. Beautiful area and the info she gave us of places to see was great. Wouldn't hesitate to stay with these folks again. Thanks so much 😍
Excellent hosts and water, electric and dump available. Quiet place and bike trail nearby. We were blessed!
The hosts are a wonderful couple. Realy great people.
Helpful and know all the things to do in the area. The site is one of the best we stayed at on this trip.
This was by far the most comfortable offering we’ve had at any Boondocker’s Welcome location. We were offered 30 amp service, water hook up AND dump!
The hosts were very friendly! The location is not far from the turnpike and easy in/out.
Will definitely look them up on any trips that take us near them in the future!!
We stayed for a night. We arrived before our host and set up. When she got home she came to say hello. Even offered use of their fire ring. Unfortunately it rained that day do we weren't able to take them up on the offer.
The next day she even came out to tell us good bye.
Such nice hosts!
Sorry I didn't get to visit longer with these lovely folks. Very hospitable and welcoming. Great communication. I'll be pleased to be able to stay here in the future. Thanks!
What a great place. We stayed 2 nights and were welcomed warmly with a brochure of things to do in Ashtabula county. Gave us recommendations on the wineries and the covered bridges which is very close to them. We chatted with them for a couple of hours in the evening
If you like visiting wineries or covered bridges this is the place to be.
We hope to meet up with them on the road somewhere.
Wish we could have stayed longer! The location was beautiful and there was plenty of room to park our 42ft fifth wheel. The hosts are amazing, we enjoyed chatting with them and they showed us all around the lake community. If you’re in the area, this is a great place to stop!
What a great place to stay. The camping setup was amazing and the host were the best. Wish we could've spent more time getting to know them. This is definitely a place we'll come back to..
