Retired army, disabled veteran married to wonderful women who loves camping also. Fishing hiking photography and such are major time consuming events. Service dog and sidekick present at house. Love pets.
Pretty decent as a photographer and try to help people when we can. Good with computers and other technology issues along with helping Veterans find their way around the VA system (or lack of).
Yes we now have THREE! Boaz our oldest, Sammy is our newest and adjusting well to camping and travelling.. Mike, our lab, is a service dog from Vet Dogs and provides some amazing tasks. The other two are wanna-be Service Dogs :-)
Anywhere anywhere anytime is my motto
Both of us are transplants from Connecticut to North Carolina. We love the climate in NC but do try to escape to cooler temps in the hot summer months. Unfortunately, my wife is still working full time but we do travel to the mountains of NC and TN.
I have a Ford F 350 dually short bed with an Arctic Fox 865 TC no slides. Have solar so rarely use electricity or generator unless it’s super hot. We pretty much fit in a parking spot and hopefully no one knows we're there we try to not bother anyone unless they wish to be sociable. Self contained is our goal.
Always happy to have retuning guests, Oliver is especially happy to have friends to play with!
Enjoyed these guests visit again. My dog Oliver was very happy to see their pups again too!
We enjoyed our boondockers visit. Oliver enjoyed visiting with your boys too! We'd welcome a visit again.
Just what you need a level place for the night and a cul-de-sac no traffic
Kent and Robin are warm, inviting and gracious people. Kent was very helpful on RV tips. Would definitely recommend a stay here. Hoping they can visit us in NH sometime.
Quiet setting - would never know it’s just off I-40.
Can’t say enough nice things about our hosts. They are wonderful people.
Robin’s Nest owners are warm, friendly, extremely likable folk who open their home and hearts to Boondockers. Kphyfe kept in close touch with me before my arrival providing info on local resources. Their neighborhood offered me a setting to walk and shop. The rest of the story: the conversation flowed easily covering all manner of topics, life stories were shared, and their three lovable dogs gave me a sense of home. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and generosity.
The hosts were friendly and I enjoyed boondocking at Robin's Nest. Thank you for your conversation and hospitality. Robin's Nest is an A+ boondocking spot conveniently located and welcoming.
You will enjoy this gem of a spot! Very gracious hosts. You'll love meeting their fur babies. Statesville has a cute downtown area and if you are lucky you can visit the Farmer's market.
Had a great night's sleep in a nice safe neighborhood right off the freeway. Host was very nice, polite, and accommodating. Gave me a couple choices of places to park and answered any questions I had. I'd definitely recommend this location for anyone traveling through this area of NC. Thank you! 😀
The hosts were friendly and inviting. Lovely location, truly enjoyed it.
We had a delightful stay at Robins Nest!! They communicated to us promptly and thoroughly. Although we didn’t have a chance to visit, they welcomed us to delicious strawberries in their garden!!
We left a day early because of the heat, but wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!!
They are super friendly and the coffee and conversation was great, We highly recommend this for an easy place to stop right off the Interstate for a secure night of rest.
We really enjoyed staying with Robin and Kent! They gave us a lot of their time and consideration. We learned a lot about truck campering from the expert! highly recommend this is a great stop on your journey.
We met this couple in New Hampshire and stayed at Robin’s Nest for a stay on our way back to GA. What a great place to jump off the highway. Great company and conversation. Fellow campers lost of stories and friendship. Nice quiet place close to the highway.
